UCLG ASPAC is glad to announce the new additional staff and interns that support the Secretariat. Find out what they bring to the table and how they will support the team in delivering the best to cities and local governments in the Asia and Pacific network.
HIZBULLAH Arief, or Arief, joined UCLG ASPAC as Regional Knowledge Management and Communications Officer for CRIC Programme. Graduating from University of Diponegoro, Arief served as an editor in several national and international news outlets i.e. Warta Ekonomi Magazine, BusinessWeek Indonesia magazine and The Brunei Times, an English daily newspaper in Brunei Darussalam. In 2011, he also founded Hijauku.com, an independent media organisation, finalist of Indonesia ICT Award (INAICTA) 2012 and nominee of Ashoka Changemakers. Hijauku.com was also one of civil society organisations presenting on the Civil Society #ClimateAction Story curated by the United Nations Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS), Department of Global Communications di New York. Arief has experiences designing, managing, and implementing strategic communication and campaign strategies using various information and communications channels for local, regional, and international projects/clients, such as GEFUNDP Sumatran Tiger Project, GEF-UNDP Strengthening Community Based Forest and Watershed Management, National Climate Change Agency, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, MCA-Indonesia, USAID Lestari, Knowledge Sector Initiative Indonesia (KSI Indonesia), and GIZ- Green Infrastructure Initiative. Joining UCLG ASPAC, Arief would like to grow his knowledge and network on green economy and sustainable development initiatives. Arief loves cycling, playing ping pong, and listening to good music (U2 and Coldplay), hopefully could finish reading Jared Diamond's books that I haven't got a chance to read.
ABIMANYU Arya Atmaja Abdullah is an intern supporting CRIC and SDGs programme. He is the final year student at the University of Gadjah Mada majoring in Regional Development. With prior internship experience in research on Resilience Development Initiative, Abimanyu is currently assigned to support the process of the data calculation, analysis, and spatial mapping for the Climate Action Plan documents, the assessment of GHG inventory results and climate change mitigation actions and conduct the gap analysis to attain the committed SDGs and city target, and with the criteria for sustainable mobility, among many others. Joining UCLG ASPAC as an intern, Abimanyu would like to gain better understanding on resilience development towards climate change at the urban realm. ADITYA Pratama Nugraha Akbar is an intern supporting UCLG ASPAC Secretariat Team in the content creation, telemedicine workshop, logistical and administrative matters. Aditya is currently a sixth semester student at the University of Prof. Dr. Moestopo, majoring in International Relations. Having prior experience as staff of Public Relations, Media, and Documentation, he would like to acquire practical experience on supporting the development of local cities and governments. In his spare time, Aditya enjoys reading and watching movies. ANANDA Murti Adyatama is an intern supporting CRIC programme on Research and Policy Advocacy. She is a fresh graduate from the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, majoring in Asia Pacific Studies. Currently, Ananda is assigned to support the ongoing development of Monitoring and Evaluation framework tools for CRIC project, the ongoing preparation of UCLG ASPAC orientation training modules for internal and external, administrative works, and others. Ananda would like to learn how local government associations facilitate capacity building of local governments to make cities become climate-resilient and inclusive. She loves hiking, snorkelling, and journaling, and has interest in waste management. NABIL Muhammad Mukhlis is an intern supporting the GCoM SEA Secretariat and CRIC. Nabil is a fresh graduate of Communication and Community Development at the IPB (Institut Pertanian Bogor) University, and currently supporting UCLG ASPAC mainly for creating design, supporting working papers, and events. Having experience as the Head of Training and Development and Head of Design at the university’s debating community, Nabil is keen to learn more about empowering local governments, especially regarding climate change adaptation. Nabil also loves reading in addition to designing. NAMIRA Rahma Putri is an intern supporting CRIC project. She is responsible to support the training series, stakeholder and policy mapping, and create articles. Namira is a final year student of Pradita University, majoring in Urban Planning. Namira, a former Vice President of Urban Planning Student Association at Pradita University, would like to learn about the implementation of participatory planning, comprehend SDGs issues and resilient city concept, as well as gain
working experience in an international organisation. In her spare time, Namira loves crocheting and listening to music. ZAHRA Annisa Fitri is an intern supporting CRIC and GCoM project. As the sixth semester student at the Institute of Bandung Technology majoring in Urban and Regional Planning, Zahra is assigned to carry out gender analysis on CRIC’s Climate Action Plan and the programme’s visibility on social media, among many others. Prior to joining UCLG ASPAC as an intern, Zahra was a Planning Method Analysis Laboratory Assistant and part of the students’ organisation team. Zahra is keen on learning about local government development and policy. She loves writing and reading and has interest in disaster management, gender, and language learning.
