HELLO FROM SECRETARIAT UCLG ASPAC Secretariat Team is happy to welcome new personnel to have more solid and strong Secretariat. Sanitation and IUC Project As environmental issues become one of the SDGs agenda where UCLG ASPAC has put more priority, the team is consequently expanding. - Municipalities Network Advocacy on Sanitation in South Asia (Sanitation Project) working on Urban Sanitation issues focusing on Faecal Sludge Management and Non-Sewered Sanitation in Nepal and Bangladesh; Mayors initiative.

The team leader is Asih Budiati who acts as Project Manager and Technical Coordinator for both projects. To support day-to-day operational administration and logistics issues, there is Ade Ginting UCLG ASPAC. Friska Yanti Veronika Butar-Butar – Regional Administrative Assistant My name is Friska Yanti Veronika Butar-Butar and I am the Regional Administrative Assistant. My responsibility is to give support to general administration procedures align with the regulation, from purchasing Working in international organisation like UCLG ASPAC, I found my background in English Literature very useful in addition to a variety of experience that I possess in different organisations. I personally see the opportunity to work in UCLG ASPAC is a big leap for me, as I am the person who always seeks for personal and professional growth. I hope I can contribute to the good works of this organisation. Mita Riyanti – Finance Assistant My name is Mita Riyanti, I am the Finance Assistant who is responsible in National Trust Fund Institution (ICCTF) as Finance and Treasury in life is to contribute to people’s better life. I see the vision and mission On the other hand, I see the chance to develop a wide network as well as enhance my capacity by joining UCLG ASPAC. I believe that this organisation can deliver strong impacts to much more countries in the issue of local development. Sydney Callista – Intern

My name is Sydney Callista and I am a Program Development Intern focusing on SDGs Project for four months. I am also supporting the preparation for the 7th UCLG ASPAC Congress in Surabaya. I am currently studying in President University majoring in International Relations. During this internship I hope I can gain knowledge about international organisation and also experience in organising international events. In the future, I wish I can contribute more to the community starting by having this internship.


Ayu Nadia Putri – Intern

My name is Ayu Nadia Putri. I am currently interning at UCLG ASPAC and supporting the Member Services division. The duration of my internship starts from July 2 and ends on September 28. My scope of work mainly includes helping the Congress to be held this September in Surabaya, Indonesia. I am mostly involved in mobilising participants to the Congress, organising the Network Event along with UCLG partners and creating Needs Assessment Survey. I am majoring in International Relations with concentration studies of security and terrorism. I have previously interned in the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore and Indian Consulate in Bali. In addition, I am very active in campus doing voluntary work such as teaching in remote areas and giving food and clothes to the homeless. By interning in UCLG ASPAC, I hope to learn more regarding the role of local governments in an international arena and being more involved in UCLG ASPAC work plans. In the future, I would like very much to work for an international organisation or an NGO that focuses on women empowerment and children’s rights. So far, I have enjoyed the working experience at UCLG ASPAC and I can’t wait to discover my potential in this organisation. Sarah Jasmine Riadi – Intern My name is Sarah Jasmine Riadi. I was assigned to the ASEAN Mayors Forum (AMF) event. I did the administrative activities such as sending documentations, etc. I have also contacted the participants and their staffs regarding their attendance. Furthermore, I have conducted research and published updates for social media regarding economy, technology, culture, and women in ASEAN cities, in regards to the AMF

Teknologi Bandung. Besides, I am a volunteer in Bina Antarbudaya, as a Secretary and Finance Management of Bandung Chapter. I am also a vice minister of community development collaboration in Kabinet KM ITB 2018, and currently Secretary General of Paragon Indonesian Leaders program. My expectation as an intern in UCLG ASPAC is to discover the role of local government in global approach, because my major relates to public approach in local to national level. Furthermore, I expect to expand my knowledge in pursuing my career path in international scope. I also plan to study master degree in international development related to urban planning for my future plan. Thank you UCLG ASPAC for having me as an intern, I have gained a lot of insights regarding the importance of local government.


Almi Nibach Mauludila – Intern My name is Almi Nibach Mauludila. I am interning at UCLG ASPAC for three months, starting from July 4th. I am involved in BMGF Project, IUC Asia Training, and GCoM Asia Launching which will be held in conjunction with the 7th UCLG ASPAC Congress on 11-14 September 2018. My responsibilities mainly involve logistical support for those sessions in the upcoming Congress, such as sending out invitations, recently graduated from Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University majoring in International Law. During this internship program, I hope I can learn more about how to manage international event and how soft-law instruments under international law can be implemented into national and municipal basis. In the future, I would like to continue my study and pursue my dream of becoming international law scholar.
