News from Secretariat UCLG ASPAC is proud to introduce our new colleagues who recently joined the Secretariat. Project Team of IUC Asia and LEAD for SDGs Localisation in Pakistan are on board and ready to put their best contribution in assisting local governments, particularly on climate action and the Sustainable Development Goals.

IUC ASIA Team DINI Laraswati is the Technical Coordinator of International Urban Cooperation (IUC) Asia project with combined background in engineering and management, working experience in various Green House Gases Mitigation projects, such as Clean Development Mechanism. In addition, she also contributed to the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) assignment for countries in South East Asia. RIZA Iskandar is the Knowledge Management and Communications Coordinator of IUC Asia programme. He has an academic background in International Relations and Communications. Riza manages the IUC Asia Helpdesk and deals with communications related matters. Riza will also enrich the IUC Asia team with his previous professional experience in the Islamic Development Bank and others. VICARIA Leiwakabessy is the Project Administrator of the IUC Asia programme. In her previous experience, she managed various project administration and documentations, and conducted a wide range of coordination and logistical services. Vicaria is glad to join UCLG ASPAC and expects to gain exposure with multicultural and multidisciplinary personnel.


LEAD for SDGs Team – Pakistan ALI Imran is the Team Leader of the LEAD for SDGs Programme. He has an educational background of Masters in Political Science and Bachelor of Law, and has an experience of over 17 years-­ working with different national and international non-­governmental organisations and UN institutions at Pakistan. He has led and managed many programmes related to themes including Inclusive and Democratic Governance, Legislative Developments, Political Participation, Human Rights and Gender Justice. HAMMAD Ahmad is working as ‘Knowledge Management and Communications Manager’ for LEAD for SDGs programme. He brings over 13 plus years of experience in the Communications for Development (C4D). He has served as Communications Analyst at the “National Initiative for SDGs” with the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, Government of Pakistan and UNDP Pakistan. Hammad has completed his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the California Institute of Management and Computer Sciences in 2006. JAHANZEB Javed is Finance Administration Manager in LEAD for SDGs Programme. His responsibilities include finance management, administration, human resource and procurement management. He is a CA finalised from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) Final Examination (Module ‘E’) – Achieved permanent credits in the “Business Management” Corporate Laws & Information Technology Management, Audit & Control Papers. He is a passionate finance professional with more than 14 years. SABEENA Gul has been working as UCLG ASPAC Coordinator for South Southwest sub-­Region Asia since April 2017. In the LEAD for SDGs Programme, she is responsible for the Capacity Building and Advocacy component of LEAD programme. She has a postgraduate diploma in International Human Rights and a Bachelor of Law degree from Faculty of Law Peshawar. She has experience of over 16 years with multi-­disciplinary, overarching fields at managerial positions.


ADIL Raza is an Admin and Logistics Officer of LEAD for SDGs Programme. Mr. Raza bring an extensive experience of more than 14 years of operational support including 7 years’ experience of development sector with USAID, DFID, GIZ, UNESCO funded multi-­million dollar projects implementation. He has attended several trainings on administrative skills, Project Cycle Management, Field Procurement and annual ethics training etc. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Virtual University of Pakistan, Lahore.
