Joshua Wong is the founder and convener of Scholarism and one of the leading figures of the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. The Umbrella Movement was a four-month long occupation of the area surrounding the government headquarters - Admiralty and two tourist hotspots- Mong Kok and Causeway Bay. Due to his influence in Hong Kong’s pro-democracy movement, he was named as one of TIME’s Most Influential Teens of 2014, nominated for TIME’s Person of the Year 2014 and listed by Fortune Magazine as one of the World’s Greatest Leaders in 2015.

Umbrella Revolution
The University College London Union Public Affairs and Social Service Society was founded in 2011 by a group of Hong Kong students who shared an enthusiasm for current affairs and a passion for helping those in need.
Four years on from her establishment, UCLUPASS continues to provide a platform for UCL students to increase their awareness of issues affecting the world; and to particiapte in social service to benefit the less fortunate.
