Reading Shakespeare’s England is part of the fully integrated International Summer School with students from all over the world. This module offers more than 40 contact hours and is accredited at 20 UK Undergraduate credits. The beautiful medieval city of Norwich is the perfect backdrop for the study of Shakespeare, with England’s only UNESCO City of Literature home to a Norman cathedral, a 12th Century castle and a network of cobbled streets. This module will allow students to develop their ability to read and analyse the rich language of the Bard’s plays, and gain a more detailed appreciation of how they relate to the turbulent and dynamic period of history in which they were first written and performed.
