May is also Skin Cancer Prevention Month Sponsor: American Academy of Dermatology Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is the main cause of skin cancer. The UV radiation can also come from tanning booths or sunlamps. The most dangerous kind of skin cancer is called melanoma. The good news? Skin cancer can almost always be cured when it’s found and treated early – and that includes melanoma. We can work together to prevent skin cancer or find it early when it’s easier to treat.

Alexandria Medical Center Now Open Kaiser Permanente delivers on its commitment to increase access to outstanding care and convenience in Northern Virginia. To better serve our growing membership in Northern Virginia, we are pleased to announce our Alexandria Medical Center opened on Monday, April 1. Please let your employees, who are Kaiser Permanente members, know about this important milestone that marks the first of three new Virginia medical centers scheduled to open in 2019. Located at 3000 Potomac Avenue, the newly-constructed, 40,000-square-foot medical center offers a wide range of primary care and specialty care services, including adult and pediatric care, women’s health, optometry, and physical therapy. It is important for your address to be your Official Payroll Address because that will trigger being able to receive information from the State Benefits Office.

Email address update Please make sure that you have an updated email address in PHR. The Department of Budget & Management (State Benefits) may send notifications to you about Open Enrollment via email.
