Bramble Energy Crawley

Core business & capabilities

Bramble Energy’s PCBFCTM fuel cell stack technology revolutionises the entire fuel cell sector. Their technology has a scalable, global manufacturing base meaning there is no need to build gigafactories - they’ve already got them; their fuel cell stacks are form factor flexible and are designed bespoke to each customer; but more importantly, they have the innovation, technology and manufacturing route to provide the lowest cost fuel cell for EVERY application, whether for mobility (rail, ship, passenger, light & heavy haulage etc.), stationary or portable applications.

Track record & reference projects

To date, Bramble Energy has demonstrated it’s technology through various Halo projects including the development of a range extended Renault Kangoo ZE. They are currently active on several other powertrain projects including the development and demonstration of fuel cell systems for marinized applications. Their technology flexibility and aggressive cost targets allows them to provide innovative solutions for a variety of industries and sectors that require something more than the typical monolithic fuel cell, such as that of aviation.

Alongside these projects, Bramble Energy has also launched their portable power product, the SD60. This device is the perfect off-grid, zero emission solution for applications that require long run time, low power outputs such as surveillance, lighting and environmental monitoring systems.

Chromacity

Edinburgh

Core business & capabilities

Clean hydrogen has a central role to play to decarbonise the economy. For use in fuel cells, the hydrogen purity is critical and the ability to detect a wide range of contaminants is in high demand at various stages of the supply chain, from producers to distributors.

Current solutions to detect hydrogen pollutants present significant limitations: detection limits are not always compliant with the latest standards such as ISO 14687:2019; existing optical solutions introduce complex optical set-ups and high costs of ownership when detecting multiple compounds.

Chromacity optical solutions (based on FTIR spectroscopy performed with ultrafast lasers) have significant advantage over existing technologies: the high brightness and broad, tunable bandwidth of our lasers allow more contaminants to be detected, and improve the detection limits. Since our solutions require only one tunable laser, they remove the aforementioned complexities and lower the cost of ownership.

b.frossard@chromacitylasers.com

www.chromacitylasers.com

Track record & reference projects

The optical solution described on the left is currently under development. As a result, we do not have any track record yet, but the principles of our proposed optical solution are described in the following publication OSA continuum publication dated 2020):

https://opg.optica.org/osac/fulltext.cfm?uri=osac-3-12-3595&id=444779

Our solution to detect Hydrogen contaminants is expected to be ready and deployable in Q4 2022. We already receive notice of interest for major petrochemical companies located in France and abroad.

Event objectives

Early positioning of the technology developed by Chromacity to monitor hydrogen purity. Gauge the interest for our technology from:

• End-users: producers and/or distributors of Hydrogen.

• Industrial partners who are looking for advanced lasers for the detection systems they deploy to control hydrogen pollutants

• System integrators looking for solutions and components related to this particular topic (hydrogen contaminants).

Contact with investors could be a plus.
