RED CARPET GLAMOUR IS BACK
Voting is closed, the judges are gathered and the excitement is mounting for this autumn’s glittering Ulster Tatler Awards 2021. Now in their 14th year, the awards ceremony is one of the most glamorous sell-out events in the calendar. After last year’s postponement, I hear guests are planning to pull out all the stops style wise. Always one of the chicest and most hotly anticipated awards ceremonies, sporting heroes, film and acting legends, TV personalities, and celebrities will walk the red carpet with the best in business, beauty and hospitality across Northern Ireland. One thing is for certain, there will be no shortage of glamour at this year’s glittering event. Once again the highly coveted award of ‘Best Dressed’ sponsored by Holley Optometrists, is up for grabs on the night, so the pressure is on. See you on the red carpet folks.
FASHION HOUSES PLAY NEW GAME
High-end French fashion brand, Louis Vuitton is cashing in on Generation Z and launching their first smartphone game called ‘Louis the Game’. The game follows Vivienne, a flower-shaped mascot (naturally) who dresses in LV clothing and unlocks stories while crossing whimsical versions of Paris and other landscapes. An eye-watering 90% of Gen Z (born between 1999 and 2012) are gamers and have the combined purchasing power of £44 billion! Louis Vuitton is not alone, the Italian brand Moschino and British brand Burberry are jumping in on the game. Now, call me cynical but wouldn’t a game of good ol’ hide and seek, or a quick round of snap be more fun! But I guess that would mean interaction with other humans, and spending no money, perish the thought!
NO THANKS CHAPS Yee-haw, Beyoncé has just released her fourth collaboration with Adidas. The new ‘Rodeo’ range includes fringed face coverings, a slashed skirt with purple cow print design, and a selection of denim chap trousers. After a quick preview of this latest collection, it’s a no thanks chaps from me.
