Introduction
Issue: Final Major Project Graphic Communication & Typography Philipp Condrau 02/2011 University of Plymouth
I’ve always been interested in design and art magazines, printed or web based. What I realised was that almost none of these magazines have student/graduate work featured as the main part of their content. So the topic of my brief is to create a platform for creative students/graduates
that focuses specifically on their work. I think it’s very important to showcase excellent pieces of creative work from students/graduates and feature them in a publication where they can be viewed by professionals and other academics.

Final Major Project Graphic Communication & Typography Philipp Condrau University of Plymouth
The task/brief
The brief is to create a platform for creative students/graduates, where their work can be recognised and published. The pieces of work will come from all fields of Design/Art/ Creativity. The medium for creative students/graduates can be in form of a publication and/or website. Bringing students/graduates from all creative fields together and letting them showcase their work. The publishing of excellent student/graduate work would increase their motivation and create opportunities for employment. The task is also to create promotion and product designs for the website and/or publication.
Anticipated research
I will research into the different existing publications and platforms for creative work and analyse what their principles and ideas are.
Client
Scott Belsky and his team. They are the creators of “behance.com” and other platforms. Belsky is also a creative writer and published a book called “Making ideas happen” which I already bought for my dissertation.
Target audience
– Students studying in creative fields. – Design professionals looking for creative students. – Creative students who are looking for job opportunities and who want to get in contact with the creative industry.
Audience response
The aim is to bring the creative community together. Break the barriers between the different creative courses and provide creative students/graduates a platform to showcase their work. The design industry would have a publication/platform where they can look for young creative students/graduates.
Anticipated outcome
A publication. The promotion of the publication in the form of a video/animation or other innovative approaches. A web based version of the publication.
