The Word on the Stre T

Pul

he spirit of servant-hood 2

The master upholds his servant TEXT: Isaiah 42-1

“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations.” To uphold is to maintain and sustain the servant’s life. The book of Isaiah chapter 40

entirely explains the relationship the master has with the servant, and from the very verse one we being told that the master upholds his servant. The master is an upholder who is able to sustain his “servants” in days of tribulations. A wicket master does not provide aid to his servants (healing). God has given humankind the gift of healing to sustain their body that they may live to serve his will. The perfect will of God cannot be served if spirit of God is not in action. Thus the Holy Spirit is in need of a

body to function. The body is acts as a permit to be earth. Have you ever asked yourself why when people die, (separation of the spirit from a body) their spirit is taken back to the maker, rather than having it roam around earth? This is simple, every spirit seeks to perform a specific purpose and it can only be expressed through a body. That is why evil spirits fight to possess your body. The truth of the matter is even the Holy Spirit is need of a body to express itself, and that is why our bodies are referred to as the temple of God (1corinthians 3:16).

To uphold is to maintain and sustain the servant’s life. In this scripture the bible tells us that a master is an upholder. He is able to sustain you in your days of trouble and tribulations and up hold you in times you are down. A wicked master does not provide aid for his servants. God has given men the gift of healing to sustain them that they may live long according to his will to serve him more. We have to understand that God did not provide healing that he may show off his power but his healing is available to us as a source of new health to keep us that we may continue serving. For instance, in a company, it is the responsibility of a CEO (chief executive officer) to provide necessary aid to keep the workers in shape to do their work perfectly and accordingly. In the book of 2kings chapter 5 the bible tells us a story of a man called Naaman. He was commander of the army of the king of Aram that makes him a servant to the king. In the sight of his master he was a great man, but what made him great in his master’s sight? It is the service that made him great. Naaman was a man of war but had leprosy, now leprosy is a kind of a disease that affects the skin, causing serious and permanent damage to the body, including loss of hands, nose and other body parts. In the case of Naaman the man great in war what will be of him if he loses his hands. In the book of psalm 144 verse 1 David said “praise be to the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.” What will be of Naaman without his serving kit? There has to be a provision. Now in the story of Naaman a young girl from Israel said to her mistress and said if only my master would see a prophet who is a Samaria! He would cure him. In verse 4 of 2kings chapter 5 Naaman goes to his master and tells him what the young girl had said, and the king says by all means go. The king did not only say go but he send a letter to the king of Israel and ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold and ten seats of clothing for his good servant to be cured from leprosy and finally Naaman receives his healing by the recommendation of his master. A good servant receives an upholding from his master.

Interview with

Clinch Crew

13

Legendary South African dance crew Clinch Crew have don our hearts as the nation’s favourite dance crew that never disappoints. Over the years they founded their flagship dance competition Masters Of Rhythm that is televised on Vuzu annually. Find out more here: I believe the current members of the crew are the 4th generation of Clinch Crew and it is largely made up of the members who were in the 2nd and 3rdgeneration crews. How did you guys get to reunite and bring back Clinch back to the scenes? That is correct, the 4th generation is made up of 2rd and 3rd, Clinch Crew never left the scenes. Every individual is as active as the crew would be in the crew’s ‘absent year’ .That is so every individual can build on their dreams and skill, as well as accomplish themselves as individuals dancers with accolades that are sometimes hard to achieve when you are solely focussed on a crew every year. It is demanding to be in a crew such as clinch, so the down time is needed at times. We wanted to reunite the crew back together after two years and it was as simple as assembling the existing members with a few other new faces who fit into the brand/crew.

Simba & Jay are directly responsible for the crew from the infrastructure, practices, competition and performances. Olie is more involved in the dynamics that are integrated between MOR and Crew at large as he is an original members/founder of the crew as well. Lalla is family, she is first generation member, she is currently involved with the crew at all – she is how ever forever Clinch familiar. Red Bull Beat Battle marked the return of Clinch, how have the reception being so far and the experience of becoming runner-ups?

Am not sure if ‘come back’ is the term because the crew has never left but the reception has been great. We had a great support system behind us and social media feedback was amazing. I think it’s crazy how we were placed second because 80% of social media and general feedback was that we were meant to Who are the current members? place first. It came to a point where we had to ask fans to stop posting negative The current members make up the feedback about the organisation and Redbullbeat Battle team, Thai, Jamal, judging panel. At the end of the day we Bash, Tebza, Michelle, Courtnea, Collin, had fun. We came out as the best hip hop Junior and Charlz. As well as Jay Kayembe crew having being place 2nd to another & Mernoly Simba who are founding genre and if experience has taught us members of the crew itself anything it is; it is what you do after you What influence or contribution does the have the platform that counts, so shout original and former members of Clinch out to the winners and the comp. We like Simba, Jay, Olie and Lalla have in the forever remain peaking the standards of crew at the moment? dance and representing Hip Hop as a culture and as a crew.

14

15

A quick random question, reveal one secret fact about a Clinch Crew member that people don’t know about, each member must reveal something about someone. That is a hard one (laughs), it could take long to answer this one. We will get that to you in a separate interview Everyone knows that you guys have performed and received numerous accolades’. What memorable performance or achievement is Clinch Crew proud to sit down and toast for? We have done international artist, local artist, presidential functions, award shows and the list goes on but I think what we are most proud about is having provided a relevant platform for dancers and dance crews to come up and be recognised for their talents (Masters of Rhythm event/TV show). We are mostly accomplished by the idea that can lead by example when it comes to setting the bar with dance and keeping the culture alive and exciting. We have fun doing this and that is what we toast to What was the darkest hour of the crew through the journey since 2006?

16

With all the success you attain especially as a commercial founding crew, a lot of obstacles tend to arise like individual egos, popularity complexes and the list goes on. Success comes with a lot of that and we have definitely dealt with our share of dark hours through our journey as Clinch Crew and survived Which crew would you call out for a battle right now if given a chance? When you battle is it not for respect? Do we not have that already? Have we not gone up against the best Hip Hop crews timeously till present and proved ourselves since 2005 throughout the different generations too... How many more till you convinced that we really do this? Lol, there is a time for everything and right now we got our mind focused on building the culture in a larger stance than a battling. Hope that makes sense… When you guys aren’t dancing and traveling, what do you enjoy doing for fun in your spare time? We travel and dance in our spare time too and family time with the crew as well as for family time with the family is key. There is a lot of crazy fun between that is had between us all so yip!

What type/brand of shoes and clothing brand do you prefer dancing in? Anything that is comfortable really, we all have different tastes and styles. Let us talk cartoons now, in terms of personality what cartoon characters would you each member be? Well this is how we see it, Simba: Professor X, Jay: Magneto, Thai: doctor octopus, Collin: wolverine, Courtnea: Rogue, Michelle; Jean Grey, Tebza: Night Crawler, Jamal: Archangel, Bash: Gambit and Junior: Beast What’s a typical performance day like, some seek divine intervention and other crews fast, and you guys? It depends, if we competing we stays focused and meditate before we go on stage. If we performing we are super crazy and interactive. In your opinion, what is your strength of the crew? The ability to keep reinventing ourselves and our art Who is the joker in the crew? Everyone is actually!!! Is your relationship as a group only a professional relationship or does it also extend into your families etc.?

Mainly extensive to family but we keep it professional when it comes to being professional What are some upcoming future projects you are working on? Follow @clinchcrew on twitter to stay updated, we have quite a few coming up! 17

My

My

Biblically a woman's crown, said to improve one's facial looks (bringing out the shape of the face while bringing more attention to the eyes and nose), an outfit completer but to us, it's simply HAIR! Now girls, this is one of our favourite topics.0 having to decide on what to do next, whether con rows, braids, weaves, extensions or wigs is a bliss which can instantly turn out to be dreadful. No one should be forced to take care of their hair BUT if it is becoming a health hazard to you and those around you, "tough-love will be implemented.

Now that summer is approaching, it is better to keep it short, CLEAN and uncomplicated. If colouring your hair please consult a professional hairdresser if the colour you desired would be appealing to your skin tone (if not, try something else which isn't permanent).

If opting for long hair, wash it regularly and use products that are suitable for your hair type and healthy for your scalp. Use braid sprays, conditioners and base the scalp often to prevent the hair from breaking. GUYS, s-curls and perms are ancient and faces that are covered with gels are a turn off. Dreadlocks should always look (up to date) clean and well taken care of. Same goes for cornrows. Shaving or trimming your facial hair and nicely cut or trimmed hair does wonders for a man's face. Taking care of your appearance says a lot about your age, personality and level of maturity. No one said all ladies are obliged to spend hundreds or even thousands on their hair. Sometimes trying too hard to look good is not worth all the trouble and you are still beautiful with your natural hair. LOVE YOURSELF WITHOUT LIMITS.

WHAT DOES the 1st Princess REALLY DO????

Beauty contests are no more about just solemnly about the beauty but a bunch of wellness activities, what are your thoughts about that? Well, being new to the pageant world, I had no idea what to expect yet I knew that the beauty feature is only an extra quality one should possess. I think that it purely shows that hard work, commitment and passion goes hand in hand with wellness activities. This is a great way to make a mark not only for people but for yourself. I believe that there is no label for beauty, it purely lies within feeling that you are beautiful. When you feel beautiful and with drive and intellect, you can move towards what you want to accomplish the goals set out. Is the direction that the big 4 (Miss world, miss universe, miss earth and miss international) trying to take of contestants who are also politically involved in a sense of liberation movements we see different Miss... From different countries supporting, good for beauty contest?

Indeed, it is an excellent quality as you bare an ambassador of your country, meaning that you constantly work towards a better country, state and environment for the people living in it. With the knowledge you have competing in those international pageants, it gives you an awareness and continual drive towards using the platform you have been granted to make a difference not for yourself, but for the people. This is a greater cause beyond one’s self, equipping yourself in every area is vital. You had to go through the personality and talent activities and camps, as well as an interview section. Take us through that? That period in the competition was the crucial part of my journey as I learnt more about myself and what I am capable of doing. The assignments we had to do was look for a number of sponsors whether it be financially, or vouchers which all went to the pageant as Miss Free state is a self-funded pageant, a weekend away to a resort for workshops and interviews which took up about 3hours at times.

31

The talent show was very fun because you could actually see how versatile all the contestants were. Besides the competition, friendships were built and we could all learn from each other rather than compare one another. Before the announcement of Miss Free State, you said or promised number of duties you will partake in if you win, now that you the 1st Princess do you continue with what you promised to do? I had made a promise to myself that even if I do not walk away with any title, I will use the exposure, experience and passion to fulfil those duties as the title of being the first princess does not define my ability to operate to my greatest potential. The best feeling is accomplishing the goals I set for myself. There is much more to accomplish and more duties to be fulfilled, not because I had promised them but because they are mandatory. What is the purpose of the 1st princess or her role?

Should Miss Free state not be able to take part or make public appearances, I as the 1st princess will have to, stand in for her. Besides that, public appearances, charity work, imparting in others’ lives through motivational speaking and mentoring. I will also be competing in miss tourism international queen of the year in China. There are no limitations to what the 1st Princess can do in her year of reign. You studying and still had the time for the contest, how do one fined a link between being a student and still become a successful model? Two words: time management. Without management it would be impossible to balance between the two. A good balance and prioritising what exactly needs to be done first. A successful model should be intelligent, healthy, driven and full of energy. A few sacrifices such as cutting out unnecessary time wasters and sometimes hanging out with friends. There is a fine line between the two so I use the knowledge I gain in the classroom such as marketing to make myself presentable.

What do you always carry in your bag?

Inconstant ramblings of a Middle class citizen…

If you are like me and you find making and taking phone calls as just plain awkward or making a proper conversation with someone a mission. You often ask yourself what is this communication thing? What is this friendship thing? WHAT IS THIS GETTING TO KNOW EACHOTHER THING? Do not get me wrong I am not talking about physically talking to someone because I can talk for days on end without really saying anything. I am talking about an actual conversation with REAL communication with another person without feeling like being hit by a truck or falling off a building would be less painful. Communication to me, is taking an actual interest in what someone else is saying and by that you end up sharing information and ideas. For the most part of the year I had to learn how to start and properly maintain conversations and if I failed at that, at least fake it. So I have come up with what I think is the perfect formula to make things a little less awkward for you.

1. It is ok to smile back. 2. The average conversation with a stranger is about 3 minutes; hang on it won't take long. (Yes I researched) 3. Ask questions, then you won't have to talk that much. 4. Remember to keep smiling but not that creepy, I'm a stalker long smile. Just a friendly one to keep them reassured. 5. Gauge who you talking to, listen carefully at the language they use, in that way you know whether or not to be formal with them. If all else fails and you really need to stop the conversation, pull an Engrish line on them. “I’m for the need to leave it now,” proper conversation killer. 36

Poetry

Blue Love Earth birds weren't chipping The sun stayed in And it was another day in Winter. Seasons came and left, But my heart couldn't see nothing but blue. Skies kept grey and clouds away, Like the reasons there were just untrue. Love reaped and sown back in, But this time who do I say roe? Who do I blame? And what exactly do I claim? Because the truth told, these lies shamed. And sooner or later, these lies would tame. Me! My heart. My core. My blue. But until then I changed my ashtrays to star love, I filled my thoughts to dream beyond and above, I told my pain to sleep and never come alive, Well, at least for now. At least for fun Or at least for my own sanity. At least out of vanity Let me love and forget such things as bombastic rage. Earth birds were chipping, The sun was out, And it was another day in summer. Seasons came and left, But my heart began to see more than just blue. -

Tell us a little bit about Moneoa the daughter and girlfriend. (Moneoa not performing and public appearances or public relations) Well Moneoa the girlfriend is currently inactive, she's on vacation in "Single Ville" so let's cut that part out. Lol! Moneoa the daughter however is available to answer that question. (Laughs) Basically I'm just a simple young woman trying to make something of my life. I love my Mom to death so I make sure she's taken care of. So I guess that answers you regarding my daughterly duties. Other than that I'm just as normal as any other 23 year old trying to enjoy their life and work towards a bright future. I cook, clean, eat junk, party, go to church, work hard and spend a lot of quality time with friends and family and so forth. With summer coming up what style clothing will be a regular in your laundry? MY BIKINI!!!!!!!! (Laughs), I'm joking (not). Probably shorts, JT vests etc.

everything

a reason so I m still young able.

Earlier this year you were in the news, with newspapers reporting that you resuming your varsity studies, how is that going? What made you stop at first and what convinced you to return? Well I’ll be honest. I haven’t had as much time to go back to school as I thought I would so I've decided to make it something I'll be doing next year when I'm more prepared. This year has been hectic and since it’s my first real experience in the industry, I was still learning the ins and outs of it. I've adapted to a lot now so I'm much wiser with my time and general management. To be honest I can't really tell you why I dropped out of school. It was a silly and random decision and I regret it very much because I could’ve finished school and still pursued my music. To add to my accreditation I'd be a young singer with a degree now. However, I believe everything happens for a reason so I Thank God I'm still young and able. I still have plenty of time to go back and next year is my calling. I'm going back because I want to feed my brain as much knowledge as possible. I plan on pursuing more than just music.

43

One other thing what is your opinion about Walter Sisulu University facing a possible closure and occasional strikes/protests by both students and staff at different varsity institutions around the country? I think it’s a sad and unfortunate situation. Anything that deprives students of education and lectures of the opportunity to empower them is a heavy loss as far as I'm concerned. I mean jobs will also be lost here, it’s not fair. I just pray a way to fix the issues being faced arise soon. Anything else you'd like to add on what you want our readers to know? Yes, There's something I was reminded of today and something is telling me to share it so what the heck. In life sometimes we do things that we are not proud of and we sometimes feel unworthy of the name of God. Please always remember that God has forgiven worse sins than yours. Keep your faith in HIM at all times. Don't be discouraged by doubt. You aren’t meant to be perfect. God is already perfect for you!

Random Twitter or Facebook or BBM or Instagram? Twitter...but lately I'm really enjoying Instagram.

The Real Wannabe Who could forget the brawl between Sleek Note and Lil Wayne’s management, when Weezy paid us a lil visit his imitator Young Nucho dressed, walked, tattooed himself and had dread locks like Wayne. Image over the years have become a big element what sells in the music industry and doesn’t. With Nucho of course he saw what Weezy have done with his Young-Money empire and he jumped on that same swag with the aim to achieve the same fate, one could say. Was this a wise move by Nucho? A big fat NO will be the first thing one could think of. Did he asked himself, do we real want another Lil Wayne, 2 Chains, Drake or even Kendrick Lamar? No. Building your own image will go all the way to make you a brand to be reckoned with. Coca-Cola would not approach an individual to be their ambassador if that person is a ‘shadow’ of someone else. They built their company without imitating any other company and it real worked out for them today as one of the number one companies in the world. With that said they would like their ambassadors to take the same route as they did. Yes!!! My rap game might be on point inflamed by lyrics bashing out at fake n*ggaz and wannabe’s. However did I check if I own my look or I’m I a Jay-Z development team member learning on how jigga adjust his snapback so I can do the same while performing! The past few months the newly crowned prince of Hip Hop Kendrick Lamar have been making waves not only with his Control verse but also with his look from his hairstyle to his clothing. These earned him endorsement deals to join the likes of Pharrel Williams and P Diddy. These shows that you can still make it out there without trying look like someone else but being yourself.

To avoid trending on twitter streets for all the wrong reasons under the hashtag #TheRealWannabe a few cents investment on a stylist and a fashion designer can go a long way from being an unreasonable leisure expenditure to inspiring clothing brands to follow your style and release clothing ranges on the same line. The trilling part about owning your own look is that, you create more wannabes who feel in love with your look and pull a Nucho on you.

FORMER PRETORIA LEGENDARY DANCE CREW ‘PERPLEXED’ MEMBER M-BIZZ TALK TO US ABOUT HIS UPCOMING DANCE ALBUM

Starting with your upcoming dance video concepts, what's your perception of such an idea and of its importance to the Cap City Dance Scene? Well firstly I’ve performed for many years in Pretoria and I’ve came to realize that attendance at events is decreasing. These is (due to the fact that) one goes to these events, and see the same people doing the same routines for the whole year. These got extremely monotonous, it even got to a point were dancing started to become irrelevant. As of late if you say you are a dancer people get surprised, that is how much dancing is fading away, this really depressed me because whenever I wanted to perform at events it would be a hassle because of how irrelevant dance was becoming. It was only the popular guys that got to perform easily. I remember I once got stopped in the middle of a performance just because Phly Nation had arrived and they had to perform at that point REALLY DISCOURAGING TRUST ME (echoes). So I thought to myself that I can't be looking to rely on performance opportunities as it was really difficult to do this especially as a soloist. I thought off “M-Bizz_The Concept Story Vol.1” my very first dance video album. This album is based on one thing and one thing only to Glorify God. Inspire People out there I try my best to bring substance in my dancing. I'm not into the whole dancing for popularity thing.

“Glory to God man. He deserves it all not me.

I want my dancing to be relevant, something that you can look at 5 to 10 years from now and be like 'WOW' I don't want people to just look at my dancing for the moves because if that is the case then within the next 2 to 3 years then it will be forgotten. I just want to bring something new within the dance industry not just in Pretoria but South Africa as a whole. How the concept did came about before your first video (train track)? Well like every Artist I wanted to be different. Set myself apart from the typical dancer. Like I said I want to change the game, create a whole new era. Also a lot has been happening in my life. I've been through a lot of things for the past 3 to 4 years. I needed a way to channel it through my dancing in a unique way. I also wanted a way to relate to what others are going through, I want to touch you through my dancing as I tell a story. An example would be some video that is based on mourning. We all have lost some one in our lives before. This concept was inspired by the death of my grandmother due to cancer. The Train Track was just a promo video of the album. It is not going to be on the Album. The Artistic importance behind “M-Bizz the train Track” is based on the importance of keeping your relationship with God on 'Track' even though it might seem like a 'Train' smash at 50 times. It is all worth it in the end. Everything or every video I do has an artistic spiritual message behind it. You will see a lot of this in the Album.

Most dancers work in pairs: why did you decide to go solo? Well I was in a crew myself. It was called Cap City Relapse (laughs) there was a whole lot of controversy around the name as Relapz from Joburg emerged straight after we got in the game. Well long story short, things just did not work out as planned. As they all got into other types art which lead them to stop dancing. We still keep in touch. Then there was Perplexed (laughs) let us just say they played a very huge role in my life as they taught me almost everything I needed to know about the game (at the end) things did not workout (there too, however) we still cool, they are like my brothers and my mentors. As things did not workout with these two crews I found myself at a very low point in my life, I told myself I was not going to depend on anyone ever again. I finna work on my own and ish. I guess things not working out with them was a blessing in a way. Being a soloist is hard work though, not a lot of people are going to take you seriously. They not going to be excited as seeing a crew as you present your Art so that kind of puts pressure on me in terms of being creative. That sort of force you to pay more attention. In terms of Music how do you select the best song for a routine? Well firstly I'm not the type that dances to a song because it is popular. I find that really unnecessary, it depends on how I want to move at that time and it also has to complement the concept, those two have to meet each other. You will see what I'm talking about in the album as well. Cap City get its name obviously for political factors but also being the capital city of youth culture. What is your views on the current state of the dance scene here?

Well honestly I can't really comment on the current state because I've been busy all year. You know with my matric year and the plans regarding the album. I haven’t really been attending any events or anything like that so currently I don't really know what's been up with the city. One thing I can tell you is this, RaeSjan from Perplexed once told me “It is not about you just dancing. Everybody already knows that you can dance, the thing is what you can do with your dancing!” That is the thing that I know about the dancers of today here in Pretoria or South Africa even. They are just dancing and the one question I would really like to ask these dancers is, how long are you going to perform and do nothing but perform? And what have ‘doing nothing’ but perform done for you? (Apart from gaining respect and popularity of cause). All I'm saying is that dancers need to bring something new. All that bubble-gum ish you’ll be doing is not going to get anywhere, I'm just saying. Any future plans? Yes I've got a lot of things planned. Next year when I'm finally done with the album, I'll be promoting it, oh and here is the best part Its Free!! I'm handing it out, this album is something that everybody has just got to see. I'm not going to sell it and I'll also be uploading the videos in the correct order week after week on YouTube and the one thing you’ll should know... My Second Promo-Video will be Dropping REALL SOON!!!!! So yea man the work never stops and yea I would like to say also thank you for having me here man it is a real honour. Yea Glory to God man. He deserves it all not me. For more information regarding the album people can just hala at me on Facebook.

@TaxiDriverSipho Before everything else why the mask? When will the passengers and your followers get to see Taxi Driver Sipho without the mask? I put the mask because most people take things I say emotionally... So a mask if I want to protect myself. One day is one day!! The people will see me without the mask How is your typical day? My typical day is good. I wake up, Rank, go to Hilbrow and go home to sleep Where do you rank and how is that route?

Your blog on Mzansi 411 and your tweets touch a lot of issues from Metro FM not playing your song to Oscar Pistorius, Jub Jub, etc. Aren't you afraid that some people will follow Khuli Chana's lead and react badly?

Weather the people are angry or they are not is not important... Important is that I tweet and blog a truth... It bring sorrow to my heart if I think of the issue of Tumi Russell (@TumiRussellID), and Mapitsi and Botshelo from Skeem Saam (@mogau_pm and @Neo_Rams).. I will choose one by December.

I rank from Noord to Sandton... Yeah! Sandton Baby!!! A reality TV show about you is rumoured to be coming soon. If this is true, what can your fans expect?

What is the five year plan? Transition to Meter Taxi (cab) maybe?

Yah is coming... But I am the type on person which does not like to count the checken before I count the eggs

Lol ... No, I want to be the Owner of a taxi, one of a best singers in a country, a DJ and motivation speaker.

Besides your overwhelming followers on twitter, what was the inspiration behind "Bayang landela", album soon?

Lastly who do you think will win next year's election?

The song is dedication to not only the people which follow me...but even people which know me but they don't follow me. Music make the people happy and South Africa need happiness look at crimes and protestes

Zuma will receive 70 per cent, Hellen Zille will receive 25 per cent, Maphela will receive 5 per cent, Julius will receive Niks and Lekota niks!!

Lazy Kid is a rapper/artist manager originally from Polokwane but moved to Pretoria due to his studies. I first started off as an artist manager and I managed the likes of Street Fam and Lil Malz, but with Street Fam I had to end our relationship due to creative differences as we had differences in visions and goals. I actually wanted to start rapping when I was in grade 10(2008) and I did a few performances in my high school. In 2012 when I came to Pretoria I saw a bigger market and focused more on management and that's where I was introduced to three of my biggest producers Ice Man on the Beat, Wky Music and Micro Dummy. I actually got a few beats from all of them then as of July I started recording my 1st ever single Turn Up feat Micro D and GP which will be released in August the 23rd via Qplay music download link. And right now I'm looking at expanding my mind and recording with any artist in the game and focusing on starting businesses and finishing my degree in Business Management at the University of Pretoria. I am currently managing two new artists Touch and Style Fasker. I have also started a new Twerk Group called the X Twerkers which you call catch them on social medias such as Twitter (@Xtwerkers) and Facebook (X Twerkers) and I'll be performing alongside them later on in the year to promote my music for my Mix tape which will be released later on during the year or early next year just to create more buzz and hype. You can catch me on Twitter (@Iamlazykid) and on Facebook (Lazy Kid) so that I can you updated with what I'm doing and I appreciate the love and support my friends and fans have showed and look out for Lazy Kid in a city near you.

PhatBlitz .

The crew was completely all about bringing originality into hip-hop, making sure that their lyrics on every single record reflects on their real life occurrences. Though the crew had been causing havoc throughout the sessions in statetheatre and the streets of Cap-City, the crew had slowly but surely rose to dominance... PB swore his loyalty to the ALX-crew and worked on two rowdy and raw mix tapes which made his street-cred get even. The year 2009 PB left the group because of personal glitches, and that's when his solo career had commenced. Well known by his stage name "Phat Blitz" aka "PB" and "Blitz" in short, PB is one in a few of Pretorian rappers who are holding it down like gravity in Cap City. PB has been a hip hop fan as a listener ever since dayone, and age of 15 which was in 2006 is when PB got a clue he can rhyme. Well it all began in a cypher back in high-school times high-on reefer, he verbally spelled from the top of the head, free styling, and surprisingly PB got mad-love from the crowd. So ever since then, PB has been rapping Cap-City RapCity to the core. The very same year PB became a member of a clique by the name of "B.G.A" (Bad-Gangstaz- Alive), that was the moment he had thought of slightly snapping out of the street scene and start dwelling in the booth. Therefore PB recorded his first track (untitled) ft. Bongz, Sky, T-x, Buckz, the track was unorganized and based on free-styles. Though the track was unorganized, it had its uniqueness and had totally tracked a tremendous buzz for PB to a point where most rappers wanted to collaborate with him. In the year 2007 PB had left the B.G.A's and started working with the "ALX" (AlcoholixCrew) which was a musical group based in Lotus-Gardens (LowkeyGutta). ALX was a crew that had brought a real gangster theme to life in the Capital-City, and one of their core elements was consuming booze frequently, however wearing a blue bandanna which was a symbolic fragment of the picture ALX had painted.

At first it was all about dropping singles just maintain the street-cred he had obtained during the glory-days, after having a collection of songs that he had worked on, PB came up with a concept of dropping a solo project. The year 2010 PB started compiling a mix tape by the name of "The Infirm Mixtape.Vol.1" which he had dropped on the 4th November 2011, independently. The mix tape is based on sick lyrical content and intriguing rhyme-schemes, plus PB's bad and good life experiences throughout the young and restless days has been through during his come-up as a rapper. With "The Infirm Mixtape.Vol.1" on promotion, PB has managed to get interviews and features on websites worldwide, plus sell 180 copies independently. The mix tape contains hit singles such as "U Gon Lov Me Now" that has charted on "Tshwane-FM", "Red-Wire Radio", and “Exposed Vocals". PB (PhatBlitz) is currently working on his independence as a up and coming hard-core rapper who wants nothing to do with the evolution of Hip-Hop, the bubble gum rap, frequently rapping about swagger, therefore he had invented his own studio by the name of (Core4Mat) which is set to let him be uncompromising and real to himself and the art of rap! For more information google "PhatBlitz"...!

Have you ever wondered what plans God has for you concerning your love life? Often we present our plans to God asking him what he has in store for us or we just do not even bother at all because we think there are certain things that God cannot be involved in. Relationships for instance we tend to forget that the bible says “many are the plans in the heart of a man but God’s will prevails”. The problem is we do what we think is right for us and when things start failing, we begin to run to God for help and expect him to see us through, forgetting that we had “I can do this” mentality initially.

Doing things without God’s intervention is like building a house on sand, you know when storms and floods come, there is no way it will survive, but once you consult God about everything in your life, you begin to understand that even when you cannot do it by own strength. You have the one who can do all things for the bible says that “whatever is impossible with man, is possible with God”. He alone knows the plans he has for you why waste time trying to figure your life out when he has it all under control. Just call unto him, He is just a prayer away. In due time, He will deliver and will definitely give you the best. Stop settling for less – KEEP THE FAITH!!

58

This one girl was in a relationship for about 3 years. She got heart broken in the long run, why? Because the foundation of the relationship was on God. She then decided to be single for a period of 3 years. In that period, she began to understand how important to let God take the starring wheel in everything. It was after 4 years of being single when she felt that she wanted a partner to spend the rest of her life with. This time around she knew what to do. She went on her knees, prayed to God for a partner. One day she asked for a sign from God about this one guy she started liking after she prayed for a partner. God being the faithful God really gave her a sign where one day she went to church as usual but what happened was unusual. She sat next to her friends just like she would on any other Sunday but this time around one of her friends moved to go and sit somewhere else.

As the service proceeded someone came to fill that space where her friend had moved from. It was that guy she liked. From there onwards the service itself went unusual. Now all of a sudden people had to hold hands and pray, mind you, they had never spoken to each other before. It was a really awkward situation and then she began to realise that God had just answered her prayer from there onwards they started dating. They got married and now they are happy together. Things like this don’t just come when we feel like it. It all starts by letting God in your life and making him the centre of it all. Pray to him and see what he can do for you, He said in His word that “if you seek me and you seek me with all your heart, you will find me. Had this girl not seek directions from God, all these would not have happened. It all comes through prayer and faith. Keep believing He has greater plans remember!

Y-Not Culture’s Interview with

Soweto’s Finest

61

Who are the members? It’s Tom "King of sbhujwa" London, King Brown, Njabz, Kaygee and Fistoz At some point Soweto Finest Dance Crew had two beautiful ladies, Santana “Noxy” Mkhwanzi and Thulisile Shabangu, what was their roles in the crew and are they still part of the collective? They used to dance as well with us but now I guess they've seen other greener pastures in life and yes they are still part of the collective & play a major role as our sisters Talking about being champions, recently you had to defend your Red Bull Beat Battle crown, how does it feel when you take the stage as defending champions and losing the crown at the end? Sorry but we have never won the Red Bull Beat Battle but we were head hunted to compete in 2011 as the first Sbhujwa crew Soweto’s Finest Dance Crew mainly specialize in Sbujwa or House Dancing, is that the only dance discipline that the crew specialize in or there is others, if so what are they? Well we are a versatile dance crew basically so we also do hip hop, ispantsula & we often fuse some of krump's technical moves with isbhujwa You guys have featured in various TV commercials, reality shows and music videos. How do you guys get such opportunities and still manage to stay humble? Ubuntu plays an important role in this industry we are in. Talking about reality shows, how did the decision to leave your crew mate behind on Friends like these came about? (Laughs) Funny enough we were joking around about leaving each other behind if anyone gets an answer wrong the night before & unfortunately the guys Tom & Njabz took their decision but there's no hard feelings attached to it. These also brings us to another issue, in every other crew there are crew fights, how do you guys manage to deal with such obstacles? Well with us, we are more than just a dance crew but we are brothers & obviously like all brothers we do fight & all but at the end we find a solution to it & move on

62

63

Take us through the last few seconds or minutes before a performance, the nervous, the excitement and all that? Before we step on stage we always pray & ask God to be with us on stage & you know what they say, you as good as your last performance as a performer. So every performance has its own nerves but as soon as we step on that stage all the nerves die out & there is this alter ego that just comes up & give people a show of their lives. Let me put you on the spot now. You have danced for many international and local artists, groups and the likes on different platforms. From all the people you have worked with or for who can you guys say, was the best to work for? What can you say is the greatest highlights of the crew as a whole and also highlights for each dancer in the crew? Well the biggest of them was choreographing for the Closing Ceremony of the 2010 FIFA World Cup & also being the first dance crew to feature on the biggest television show "Live Amp" How do you guys balance the TV appearances, radio interviews, tours, and most importantly practice? (Laughs) well I guess there's is time for everything & we always make sure that we meet all these duties & discipline plays an important role as well & respect for time. Are there any endorsement deals or sponsorship deals? No there no endorsement deals yet. What can we expect from Soweto’s Finest Dance Crew in 2013? Any tours or gigs lined up? Expect a more fresh & innovative Soweto's Finest & we have a theatrical tour in France from the 22nd of September to the 13th October & we are back again in November for that tour, then expect more music release towards the end of the year into 2014. Is there any words of advice would you give to the upcoming crews and dancers? Practice makes perfect guys & always remember to respect your craft first before other people can accept it. Involve God in everything you do & stay humble & never stop dreaming

“Practice makes perfect

How To

Prepare Pork chops

INGREDIENTS 4 pork chops, 1 teaspoon bacon fat, grape seed oil, or olive oil (or other high smoke point oil), Salt, 1-2 teaspoons of dry rub*, *Dad's dry rub: 1/4 cup cumin seeds, 3 Tbsp. whole black peppercorns, 1 Tbsp. coriander seeds, 2 Tbsp. sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt Combine cumin, peppercorns, and coriander in a heavy medium skillet. Stir over medium heat until fragrant and toasted, about 8 minutes. Cool slightly. Finely grind toasted spices in blender. Transfer to a small bowl. Mix in sugar and salt. Makes 1/2 cup. METHOD 1 Heat a large cast iron frying pan to medium high or high heat (hot enough to sear the meat). While the pan is heating, sprinkle a pinch of dry rub spices (about 1/8 teaspoon or a little more) on each of the pork chops. Using your fingers, rub the spices into the meat. Turn the chops over and repeat on the other side. 2 Once the pan is hot, add a teaspoon of oil or fat to the pan and coat the bottom of the pan. Right before you put the chops into the pan sprinkle each side with a little salt, or you can salt the chops in the pan. Put the chops in the pan. Make sure they are not crowding each other too much. There should be space between the chops in the pan or the meat will steam and not sear properly. Tip: Arrange the chops in the pan with the thickest, boniest parts towards the centre of the pan where they get the most heat. 3 Sear the chops, about 2 minutes on each side. Watch carefully, as soon as the chops are browned, flip them. As soon as you flip the chops, if you are using a cast iron pan, you can turn off the heat. Cast iron holds heat very well and there will be enough heat in the pan to finish cooking the meat. If you have chops that are a lot thicker than 3/4" (many are sold that are 1 1/2"-thick), you can put a cover on the pan and let the chops finish cook for 5 minutes or so (if you are using a cast iron pan and have turned off the heat, there should be enough heat if you cover the pan to finish the cooking of a thicker chop, if not, lower the heat to low and cover. How do you know when the chops are done? Use a touch test which with practice I've learned as well. If you wait until you see juice oozing out of the top of the chop, it is definitely done. Typically just keep the chops in the pan, the heat is turned off, so the pan is losing heat. The pan initially provides enough heat to sear the second side. As it initially cools it is still cooking, though not searing the meat. After a couple of minutes, it's just keeping the chops warm.

With standout styling, thrifty yet powerful engines and plenty of features and amenities, the latest Hyundai Sonata is a strong contender in the ever-crowded mid-size sedan segment. Aside from the standard Sonata discussed herein, Hyundai also offers the thrifty Sonata Hybrid. Styled at Hyundai's Irvine, California, studio, the Sonata is a fresh design that takes a few subtle cues from the sporty, coupe-like look of the first-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. The curvy and organic overall shape is an example of the "fluidic sculpture" design language that has become a hallmark of recent Hyundai models.

Slightly larger than the outgoing Sonata, the new car feels roomier inside and also boasts more upscale materials and a more cohesive layout. Although completely redesigned just one model year ago, Hyundai has also updated the latest model year with the addition of Blue Link, the Korean automaker's own infotainment system, as a standard feature. Blue Link offers Bluetooth hands-free calling, current traffic and weather information, a lifeline to emergency services and roadside assistance. Blue Link can also be linked with a smart phone to let the owner know where the car is, how fast it is driving, or provide diagnostics from the vehicle's engine. Other updates and packaging changes include the addition of the three-piece panoramic sunroof as standard equipment on the Limited trim level, a new seveninch touch screen for navigation with HD Radio, an available rear backup camera on the SE when equipped with the Sunroof and Navigation Package. The Sonata's entry-level engine is a direct-injection 2.4-liter four-cylinder that puts out 198 horsepower (200 ponies on the sportier SE trim level) and 184 lb-ft. of torque yet delivers an estimated class-leading 35 mpg on the highway with the optional sixspeed automatic transmission (a six-speed manual is standard on the base GLS trim). Regardless of transmission, the Sonata is expected to be rated at 23 mpg in the city, but the manual is rated at 34 mpg on the highway. Rather than using a V6 as the up-level engine choice, the Sonata employs a 2.0-liter turbo four that uses Hyundai's latest 'Blue Drive' turbocharging and direct-injection technology to produce 274 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC manual shifting control, the Sonata 2.0T is rated at 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway on regular fuel.

69

Hyundai offers the Sonata with the naturallyaspirated four-cylinder engine in three trim levels (GLS, SE, Limited), while turbo four-equipped models are offered in two trim levels (2.0T SE and 2.0T Limited) The entry-level GLS comes standard with power window and locks, A/C, cloth upholstery, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, remote keyless entry, 16-inch steel wheels with hubcaps and a trip computer. The GLS can be optioned with the Popular Equipment Package, which adds 16-inch alloy wheels, a power driver's seat with adjustable lumbar, upgraded interior trim and automatic head lamps. A navigation system and premium audio upgrade are also available. The GLS gives way to the SE, which adds a middling two horsepower but also 18-inch alloy wheels, unique dark chrome exterior touches, fog lights, dual exhaust, a sport-tuned suspension and steering combination, proximity entry with push-button start and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob. The SE comes only with the automatic transmission and can be optioned with a moon roof, navigation system and premium audio. From there, the Limited adds leather seats, dual zone automatic climate control, automaticdimming mirror with compass, CD changer, HD radio, upgraded audio, 17-inch alloy wheels, panoramic moon roof, exterior mirror-mounted turn signals, upgraded interior trim and rear seat vents.
