Ways Business Owners Can Transmute Street Vendors Into Powerful Marketing Catalysts
Charity Abuke According to Bright Simons, a Ghanaian entrepreneur, founder, and president of Pedigree, one of the most untapped business opportunities in Africa street hawkers. He said, “Someone has to build a solution that turns hawkers into a far more productive activation force for businesses. The best way out is for companies to share the costs and risks by using an organically formed network of micro-entrepreneurs hardened by experience and relatively skilled in customer interfacing. Converting the teeming hawkers on the streets of Accra, Nairobi, and Lagos into powerful brigades of marketing activators can seriously disrupt many industries, including banking, fast moving consumer goods, hospitality, insurance, and so forth that are currently struggling for their next infusion of marketing spirits’’ Suffice it to say that Street vendors can be powerful marketing catalysts with the right strategy and approach. Here are some ways to transmute Street Vendors Into Powerful Marketing Catalysts
VOLUME 12
03
IDENTIFY POTENTIAL STREET HAWKERS Identifying street hawkers that operate in areas where your target audience is likely to be present should be your first step. Search for street vendors that sell products that are complementary to your business. BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE STREET HAWKERS VIA A PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM Develop a relationship with the street vendors by approaching them and introducing yourself and your company. Provide them an incentive for each sale they bring in, discounts, freebies, cash back incentives, etc. as a way to entice them to spread the word about your products or services. Make sure they are aware of the message and values associated with your brand so they know what they are promoting.
UTILIZE SOCIAL MEDIA Street vendors should be encouraged to promote your products by taking pictures of your products, sharing their experiences with your products, and sharing on social media using consistent hashtags tailored to your business. This will help to create buzz and attract more customers. ORGANIZE EVENTS Partner with street vendors to organize events that will showcase your goods or services. This will promote the growth of your business, create a positive image for your brand and draw in new clients.
PROVIDE THEM WITH MARKETING OR PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS
TRACK AND ASSESS
To effectively market your product/service and raise the ideal awareness you have in mind as a business owner, street vendors need promotional materials such as brochures, leaflets, posters, and product samples. As a result, they will be able to market your brand and raise awareness among their customers successfully. This also helps ensure your brand message isn’t misquoted in the process. Make sure the materials are eye-catching and contain a call-toaction that encourages customers to visit your business.
Keep an eye on the outcomes of the street vendors' marketing initiatives and assess their effectiveness. This will enable you to decide whether to continue with them going forward or make adjustments to your approach. By putting these strategies into action, you can successfully transform street vendors into powerful marketing activators and establish a strong brand presence in the marketplace. Ultimately, collaborating with street vendors can be a powerful and affordable approach to market your company to your target audience.
OFFER TRAINING AND SUPPORT Business owners should ensure that Street vendors receive the necessary training on their goods, services, and advertising strategies. This will give them the information and abilities they need to effectively market your company.

Her Childhood My childhood was quite an interesting time, to say the least. One of the perks was not having to worry about money. I have always been a fun and down-toearth person. So, one day, I decided to share my vibes with the world through social media. The response was overwhelming - people absolutely loved it! Ever Felt Like Giving Up?
How Social Media Has Impacted Her Business
I have had very exhausting days where all I craved was a good rest, but the thought of giving up has never crossed my mind. I firmly believe in taking charge of my emotions, seeking solace in prayers, and relentlessly pushing forward toward my goal. I am a very focused person, I always keep my eyes on the goal
In today's digital age, social media has become a game-changer in the world of sales and marketing. My social media fame has had a significant impact on my success, helping me reach a wider audience and boost sales. While social media does come with its own set of pros and cons, I firmly believe that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. In fact, I can confidently say that, much like how Kizz Daniel never produces a bad song, I have never experienced a failed business venture on social media. It's a powerful tool that, when used wisely, can take your business to new heights! Business Strategy Changes She Would Make Both Online and Offline? Branding!! While there may have been other tactics I could have employed to boost my business besides twerking on social media, it's hard to argue with the results! This playful approach is true to who I am, and it's certainly been lucrative so far. After all, who says you can't have fun while making money?
Career Challenge While some might view being famous as the ultimate dream, it's been a double-edged sword for me - I never asked for it, but here I am. One of the toughest challenges has been navigating romantic relationships, as many guys can't help but feel wary when it comes to getting close to a famous lady like myself. On top of that, I've had to deal with being misunderstood and the constant barrage of rumors and negativity that comes with it. But don't get me wrong - I'm not one to back down from a challenge. Her Inspiration My inspiration comes from the most unexpected sources. Sometimes it's an unforgettable experience that sparks my creativity, while other times a movie or a piece of music sets my imagination ablaze. And when all else fails, I let my mind wander and freestyle, conjuring up new ideas from the depths of my subconscious. The beauty of it all is that inspiration can come from absolutely anything. It's been an incredible journey, and I'm thankful for each step that has led me to where I am now. Craziest Rumor About Herself As a public figure, I've heard my fair share of baseless rumors over the years, but the absolute craziest has to be the time when someone claimed I was romantically involved with Dino Melaye and even accused me of being involved in shady "runs". It's crazy how far people will go with their imaginations.

From Data to Dollars How CHAT GPT is Helping Entrepreneurs Monetize Their Businesses
Charity Abuke
T
hanks to modern technologies, the business world is undergoing rapid change. But, none are predicted to have a greater impact than artificial intelligence (AI). The good news is that anyone can start utilizing AI; small businesses can use many excellent AI tools and technologies to provide a competitive edge and prepare them for the future. Business executives can leverage AI technology thanks to ChatGPT, released in 2022 by OpenAI. ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence system that uses text to assess inputs and produce individualized responses. Below are a few ways businesses can start leveraging AI through ChatGPT.
1. PROVIDE 24/7 CUSTOMER SUPPORT Company owners can utilize ChatGPT as a customer service tool to communicate with their clients and address their issues. ChatGPT can be configured to respond to frequently asked questions, offer details on goods and services, and assist clients with any problems they might be experiencing. This can be used in various applications, including chatbots, SMS, email, etc., leading to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty, which ultimately translates into higher sales.

2. Marketing and Sales Customers of today expect customized services explicitly made for them. Business owners can use ChatGPT to interact with potential customers and increase sales. They can also use it to create marketing and sales copy specifically tailored to their clients, such as personalized emails and messages, start conversations with website visitors, recommend products based on their browsing history, and make customized offers, among other things. Not only will this help their sales and marketing teams focus on generating more leads and closing more sales, but it will also lead to business growth. Sales Support: Business owners can use ChatGPT to support sales by providing product information, responding to client inquiries, and making tailored product recommendations. By providing prompt and precise answers to queries, ChatGPT can help enhance the overall customer experience. Marketing: ChatGPT allows business owners to construct automated chatbots for marketing. These chatbots can interact with customers, provide personalized product suggestions, and offer discounts and promotions.
3. Generating Reports And Summaries Businesses often rely on teams of analysts to organize, review and analyze data to create useful KPI metrics and reports for management. By evaluating a lot of data (typically from many systems), ChatGPT can speed up the procedure and produce summaries or reports that offer valuable information to business executives. The advantage is the speed at which ChatGPT can complete this task compared to most human workers. 4. Content Creation Most organizations produce tons of content to communicate with customers, including articles, blogs, videos, and social media updates. Using ChatGPT will enable you to produce well-organized and interesting material faster. You should know that copying and pasting ChatGPT output onto your company blog constitutes plagiarism. Also, because ChatGPT draws its material from the internet, there is a potential that you will submit something extremely similar to its source, which could hurt your search engine rankings.

ChatGPT
Market Research: Business owners can use ChatGPT to conduct market research by asking customers for feedback, opinions, and suggestions. To learn important details about customer preferences and behavior, ChatGPT can be used to create surveys and interview customers, which can assist companies in gathering insightful data that can be applied to improve products, services, and marketing tactics.
5. Research And Analysis ChatGPT can be used to research a range of topics, including market trends, competitor products, and other essential business information. Despite advances in technology, businesses should still confirm ChatGPT's findings. Due to the platform getting its information from the internet, it may unintentionally provide inaccurate results, especially if there is a lot of erroneous information available on a certain subject. To prevent using information that is still developing or changing, the program's creators also restrict usage to sources that are reasonably recent (within the last two years). 6. Language Translation One of the biggest challenges that most companies face when expanding into new territories is often the language barrier. It takes a lot of time and effort for companies looking to expand into new regions to translate their websites, product labels, instruction manuals, and other marketing materials into the local language. The good news is that in just a few seconds, ChatGPT can translate text accurately and quickly. 7. Use Chatbots for lead generation By gathering website visitors' contact information and starting follow-up conversations, business owners can use ChatGPT to create leads. This can be utilized to enhance sales and generate leads.
8. Automate repetitive tasks
While AI has slowly developed over the last few decades, its adoption is expected to explode within the next 10 years. Companies that choose to embrace AI will have a strong strategic advantage. To leverage ChatGPT effectively, business owners should identify their specific needs and goals and then work with developers or AI experts to program ChatGPT accordingly. Additionally, it is important to regularly monitor and analyze the data generated by ChatGPT to make improvements and ensure that it meets business objectives.

f r o b e a t s g l o b a l p r e s e n t e r O m o b o l a Va l (@omobolanleadigun_) had an interesting conversation with the fast rising American Born – Nigerian -UK based singer Nnennaya Kelly. Nnennaya discussed her career, family, her superstar son Sammy Smack who is also a singer and instrumentalist and her latest hit project featuring the superstar kid saxophonist; Temilayo Abodunrin. Who is Nnenna Okoturo? Nnenna Okoturo is my legal name including my husband's name. While Nnennaya is the full name which means 'I am the mother of my father.' Most people drop the 'Ya' behind the name 'Nnenna' which is the short form. I was born and raised in the USA and did my teenage years in high school in Nigeria. We currently live in the UK. There are many sides to you as you are a corporate entrepreneur, an entertainer and a family person. What is your educational background? As mentioned above, I was born in the USA in Lincoln Nebraska and did most of my Primary school education in the USA. My parents decided to return to the motherland Nigeria and so I attended my primary 6 and all my high school in Nigeria. I returned to the United States where I attended a Montgomery College & Catholic University and bagged my Bachelor's degree. By the way, I studied Music for two years at university where I studied opera and sang mezzo soprano, singing in European languages. It was during this period that I suffered stage fright due to criticisms of my European intonations. So I changed my course to Human Resources and Management. Following my BA, I went on to obtain an MSc at London School of Economics in England. I obtained an MSc in Information Systems Development. Since then, I've been working in HR/Payroll Information Systems arena. I've worked with major banks and brands like; Citi Bank, Bank of America, Accenture and a host of others. Now, I am an independent Consultant as I consult for several blue chip organizations. You are an Academic because you studied technical courses like; Information Systems Development, Human Resources and so on. And I'm sure you excelled at all. How were you able to merge music with all of these? Through my corporate life I managed to continually involve myself in music events. I joined my church choir in London, and I continue to take lessons with my vocal coach. My life is busy with juggling family and work, so for years I

put full-time music on hold. After the birth of my second child and with the 100% support of my entire family I decided to deep dive into this rebirth venture of music. Since I decided to do this I have made a conscious effort to making it work. I juggle it all! What inspired your love for music? My grandfather and dad are musicians. We grew up in Michigan and we were also part of the cathedral choir. My older brothers were young choir boys’ solo singers and classical pianists. The Cathedral choir master / organist kept telling my parent that I've got a beautiful soprano operatic voice and encouraged them to put me in the spotlight. I personally notice my beautiful voice when I had a strange encounter at my primary school in Michigan, Detroit. This was an international school, however, there was a thing in the US about Africans and black Americans that just did not sit right at the time and as young as I was (7 years old) I felt it. On one occasion, we were called to audition for a song 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen' which is a song I released last 2021 with my son, I attended the audition and as I sang with my beautiful soft and in-tuned voice, and my primary school teacher on hearing me, said 'wow!' I knew at that point I had a very soothing beautiful voice. However, she decided to ignore me and I feel it's because I was African, she was black American. The teacher made comments in class that I'm African so I wasn't picked. I told my parent and they told me not to get bothered, that I will have other opportunities, but this incident formed part of that rejection feeling that only developed further during my university days and I changed my course from music to HR as describe previously. But with all that, I kept singing as often as I can and now, I'm back with full force. Despite your love for music, you had to put it on hold for a while because of family, rejection from the past, stage fright and other important things. Didn't you fear that you might end up abandoning your dreams or what gave you that conviction that you were going to come back into music? In life if you've got determination, you'll always continue what you started. With music, it's always been there. When I started music as a young lady, my dad was really supportive and actually disappointed that I didn't get a degree in Music. When I transferred my credits back in college and started the Human Resources studies, they took all my music credits and when I asked why all my credits were taken, they said they were hoping that I would consider minor in Music. At that point, I should have embraced the Music degree but I was enjoying the Human resource studies too. I appreciate Catholic University of America for encouraging me and this is part of why I am back to take my music career by storm.

Talking about family, you had a few challenges before giving birth to your kids. Considering your love for children. For instance, you established a charity organization to build a children's hospital in Africa. How was this phase for you and how did you deal with it? I am married to my husband of 24 years and counting. When we got married, we wanted children immediately, but it didn't happen as my first child came after 8 years while my second child came 11 years after. So they have 11 years gap. I got inspired to start this charity during an incident at my son's school, the whole class was sick; throwing up and having fever. At the time my son was sick as well, so we went to the doctors, they refused to give us antibiotics as they insisted that it was a virus and the body should be able to fight it off. They advised that all we could do was just give them pain relief to keep the temperature down, Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. Low and behold! What the doctor said happened! My son and all his class got better in about 5 -7 days with no prescribed drugs! Knowledge is key for every parent! Just having gone through this ordeal, I went into a big store called Costco and I gathered all the paracetamol and Ibuprofen on their shelve and sent it to my parent in the village in Nigeria to give all young mothers so they have pain relief in their homes for anytime their child runs temperature they have medication to keep the temperature down. Upon this act, my dad offered to give his 16 bedroom home and acres of land to build a children's hospital. So since then I set up a charity in Nigeria and in the US and hope that one day I can make this dream come true!
What's your husband's opinion and donate a percentage of my about you being into music and music profit to my charity (Venerable Sydney Children's entertainment? Wellness Center'). When my son started playing the tuba and started getting merits and even a scholarship, in fact he got a discount of school fees, no parent won't be proud of such child. When I'm away from home, he volunteers to remind our son to practice and he even sends me videos. He is amazing!
I started with Mezzo soprano opera having grown up in areas where there's less ethnic people. Over the years, I became interested in R n B then later I fell in love with Afrobeats soul music. If you look at 'My funny valentine' which is an iconic song, as opposed to versions from Whitney Houston, Beyonce and others, this song is a Jazz genre and ballad but I changed it around and made it a dance song through afrobeats. Ayrra Star and Kelly Rowland did a remix to the Bloody Do you perform at shows in the UK? Samaritan song. Others are doing this too. Burna boy featured Ed Sheeran, I always tell everyone, I just want to Stormz who sings more of very British produce music and sell. I'm not so keen of live performances. My live performance can be found on my Youtube page (Nnennaya Kelly). I now want to do more and I have a fabulous team that is pushing me towards success! so bring it on! Are you open to performances and showcase here in Nigeria? Yes, my live performance was in Lagos, Nigeria! More to come! What are the greatest challenges you've faced while trying to establish your music career? For me, entering an industry where the young ones are more loved was a bit of a challenge but then I collaborate with these young ones so it's not really a challenge for me. Also, learning to spend less and achieve what you want is another challenge but as you practice you learn every time. This is why some people want to get signed to a label because they'll pay for everything. My major challenge is creating time because of the other activities I do in the corporate world. Which musicians wou ld you consider your role models in the music industry? There's a vast range of that; from the older ones to the younger ones. People like Sade Adu, Lionel Richie, Seal, Michael Jackson, Bey, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Mary J Blige, Nicki Minage, Toni Braxton and many more. I loved 2Pac and Will Smith for the rap, I love Boyz to men. In the world of Afrobeats, I love Yemi Alade, Simi, Ayrra star, Asa, Teni, Tems, Tiwa Savage, Gykie, Kizz Daniel, King Promise, Burna Boy, and so much more! I love all the people that Donjazzy produces, like, Jonny Drille. I love Olamide too and many more. But I'm really rooting for the females, we need more of them.
What is the five years goal for your music brand? I'm doing music because I love music and I want to make money because I'm trying to build a charity. The good thing is when you buy you are also giving back. So in five years, I'm hoping that we have a couple of millions to achieve the dream. Also, I like to start now to work toward building young less privileged talent. I plan to open up music studios in the UK and USA to allow young talent to be themselves and showcase their talent! I am already starting with my son and our daughter is not far behind!
“I am a giver. I love to give and I think my personality oozes off on why my family is the way they are”
Judging from your break from music in the past, is there a possibility for another break in case another baby comes along or any other family related issue? Now, the only challenge is time because I'm an independent so I have my day job. Also, we have an organization in Nigeria that trains people in CPR and first aid. So there's a lot on my desk but I ensure I schedule everything in. It's all happening here! What's one interesting thing about you that many do not know? Well, I think I love to dance and mentor the youth. I love progress in myself and others! I think the greatest thing about me that people do not know is that I am a giver. I love to give and I think my personality oozes off on why my family is the way they are. I also love to encourage people. I am a lover not a fighter! I just aim to love people even when they seem not to love me back. I always say life is too short for stress. I drop people or things that stress me and reach out to things that inspire me. I don't envy because everyone has a thing that God has given them. I want to learn from everyone rather than get envious. I try my best to sow good seeds and hope for good harvests. I am not perfect though, but I strive towards these virtues. What's your advice to individuals who are inspired by your career story and hope to be like you? Never give up! Always be consistent. Consistency might mean you take a step back but you have it in mind that you want to do something. Do it with excellence! When I can't afford or no time to visit my voice training, I look for free internet trainings and use my night times to be an achiever. Don't hold back, don't be stagnant. Change is dynamic. Trust in God! Reach out to people for help and you'll find.

FROM SCREEN TO STARDOM T
he tech industry is basking in the limelight across the globe and there's no denying that! Afrobeatsglobal presenter, Omobola Val, @OMOBOLANLEADIGUN_, had a captivating conversation with one of the most influential YouTubers in Nigeria - 'Valor Reviews'. The duo delved into a wide array of topics, ranging from Valor's personal life to his career trajectory and even the ever-evolving Tech space His name and what inspired His brand name ‘Valor Reviews’
M
y name is Olatunde Shobajo. I used to be quite the adventurer before I started content creation. I loved traveling, and used to have a bike with the plate number ‘Valor’ so everyone called me Valor. But as fate would have it, I had to stop riding when my wife gave birth. During this time, I found solace in watching content creators like Fisayo Fosudo, and other tech enthusiasts, and was absolutely hooked on their content. However, my old Youtube account (which went by my real name) was hacked! So, I had to start all over again, but this time I decided to use my already known nickname, 'Valor', as my brand name. And voila! 'Valor Reviews' kick-started in April 2019.
VOLUME 12

Valor review
What influenced His Content creation Niche I absolutely love smartphones and laptops! They are my constant companions, and I use them a lot. It was only natural that I would start creating content about what I love so much. I remember one day at work, a content creator came into the store where I was working to purchase a gadget for content, and I thought to myself, "Hey, I can do that too!" And from that moment on, I was on a mission to create amazing content about tech. When it comes to tech, you could wake me up in the middle of the night and ask me anything about it, and I would have the answer ready. It's so much easier to create content about s o m e t h i n g t h at y o u ' re t r u l y passionate about and knowledgeable in, and that's exactly what I'm doing. How Lucrative Is The Content Creation Industry? Contrary to popular belief, the real money isn't in tech - it's in tourism. Just take a look at Tayo Aina and Steve Ndukwu - they're raking in the cash with their travel-focused content. Why, you ask? Well, it's all about the audience. The majority of their viewers are foreigners, which means their YouTube channels have a higher CPM (that's cost per thousand views, for you non-YouTubers out there). So while I might only make a measly $1.03 for every 8,000 Nigerian viewers, Tayo and Steve can make upwards of $13-$15 for just 1,000 American viewers. That's some serious earning. But on the average, it’s not that bad. We may not be rolling in the same cash as the tourist creators, but we still have a few revenue streams of our own. First up, there's YouTube AdSense, which can bring in around $1,800 per month.
Then there's brand product reviews, where you can charge a pretty penny up to a cool 2 million Naira, depending on your clout. And let's not forget about Instagram, where you can charge anywhere from 800 1.5 million. Let us not forget that equipment can be quite expensive too.
For Those Feeling Pressured To Migrate Into Tech To embark on a journey into the tech world, you need passion and determination. Because, without it, you’ll struggle if you don’t know anything about Tech and dive into it. The language of tech may be unfamiliar at first, but with time and consistency, you will begin to grasp its intricacies and complexities. If you have a background in tech, you are already at an advantage, so use that head start to your advantage. And don't forget to take inspiration from your favorite tech influencers /mentors by watching their videos and replicating their techniques. As you progress, you will find your unique style and approach to the world of tech. It may take a year or more, but with dedication and hard work, you can carve out a niche for yourself in this ever-evolving field. The Challenges Content Creators Face in Nigeria Starting as a tech creator in Nigeria can be a daunting task. Unstable power supply, the deafening roar of generators that threaten to ruin the audio in your videos, and to make matters worse, getting access to the latest tech devices can be a real headache. While in the US, creators can get their hands on the latest products right after launch, we in Nigeria have to wait for up to three long weeks before VOLUME 12

we can even get our hands on them. By that time, dozens of videos about the product have already flooded the internet, making it difficult to stand out from the crowd. Fortunately, Transsion, the company behind Infinix and Tecno often launch their devices first in Nigeria, giving us an upper hand over other brands like Samsung. So, despite the challenges, we Nigerian tech creators can still make our mark in the industry, thanks to our resilience and creativity.
Ever Being Dragged By a Troll/Brand Because of a Review? The occasional accusation of paid promotion - is a common plight for those of us in the tech review industry. Of course, it all depends on the brand and platform involved. Post a review of Infinix or Tecno on Nairaland, for example, and you might find yourself bombarded with skeptics who think it is just a mere paid advertisement.
To avoid this, I've learned to be selective about the platforms I use. And while If All His Content Is Sponsored some of the criticism can be helpful, it's important to develop a thick skin if you want to succeed in this industry. As I always say, "If words could kill, we'd all be Well, not all of my content is sponsored, I have a genuine interest in about half of six feet under by now. what I put out there. Take for instance, when Starlink made its grand entry into What Sets Him Apart Nigeria, I was so intrigued that I willingly I do something that most people are too afraid to do: I compare. I put different purchased it and even did a review. But brands and models head-to-head to help end users decide which product to yes, the other half is sponsored. choose. Sure, some brands might not like it, but I believe in giving consumers the knowledge and tools they need to make the best choice for them, and sometimes that means ruffling a few feathers along the way. I also love to dip smartphones in water, just to see how they hold up. Because let's face it, accidents happen, and you need a phone that can keep up with your lifestyle. His Biggest Gig so far It would have been attending the Mobile World Congress in Spain. But as fate would have it, Nigeria had other plans for me. My passport didn't come through in time. But, receiving my YouTube 100k plaque was a major milestone for me. Only two people in Nigeria have achieved this milestone before me - Fisayo Fosudo and Eric Okafor. And now, I'm the third. That means a lot to me Sure, there were plenty of people who started before me, but in just four short years, I've managed to climb the ranks and secure a spot among the top tech reviewers in the country. I'm proud of what I've accomplished, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

he tech industry is basking in the limelight across the globe and there's no denying that! The UncutXtra magazine team had an amazing time as they delve into the world of one the most influential YouTubers in Nigeria Eric Okafor where technology reigns supreme. Eric is a tech-focused content creator based in Nigeria, with over 900,000 followers combined on all his social media platforms. We delved into a wide range of topics, ranging from his personal life to his career trajectory and even the ever-evolving YouTube space How He started on YouTube In 2013, during my NYSC days, I spent countless hours watching smart phone reviews by top creators like 'Flossy Carter' and 'MKBHD'. Then in 2015, I landed an executive position at TECNO Mobile. We were about to release a new smart phone model, and I suggested filming an unboxing video. With no professional equipment, my boss held a phone over my shoulder and filmed the unboxing. I uploaded the video on the day of the launch, and that's how my YouTube journey began. Little did I know, this was the start of my YouTube career.

Advice to Anyone delving into YouTube as a Content Creation When I started, with 100,000 naira I could easily purchase two smartphones for review and sell them at a loss. However, times have changed, and the value of money has dwindled to the point where you can barely afford a decent phone with 100k. My advice is to Immerse yourself in the vast world of tutorial videos on YouTube, learn everything there is to know, and create your own content. Share it with your friends for review and critique, and don’t grow followers illegally. It’ll take some time to grow but enjoy the process and take it easy, and before you know it, your hard work will pay off.

How He comes up with Video Ideas and His Content Creation Process When I first started my journey on YouTube, I didn’t have any roadmap. Instead, I listened closely to my viewers' feedback and suggestions in the comment section. If they wanted to see the camera, I would showcase it in a video by using it in my daily life and sharing the pictures and videos I captured with the device. As time went on, I sifted through the comments and pinpointed the most requested topics to create content on. My approach was simple: I'd use the device, gather my thoughts, write a script, record my voiceover, and edit the footage to align with my narration. How He Builds a Community Around His Channel With every community, you have to understand that everyone who is subscribed to your channel is likeminded. They will come back to watch your videos, especially if you've helped them make a decision on their next device purchase. The most loyal members of this community are the ones who watch every single video you put out, as they share your fanatical passion for consumer technology. To keep them engaged, it's important to showcase as many new technologies as you can get your hands on, and ask for their thoughts too - because you genuinely want to connect with them on a personal level, through a shared interest. How He Stays Consistent and Avoids Burnout As a content creator, burnout is inevitable- and it's not because your content is boring. It's simply the monotony of doing the same thing repeatedly that can lead to burnout. To avoid this, it's important to strike a
balance between work and taking breaks to spend time with loved ones or enjoy a fulfilling work-life balance. The key to staying consistent is to establish a routine for creating content. This doesn't mean scripting, filming, and editing every day, but rather doing at least one part of the process daily. For me, there's not a single day that passes where I'm not creating something, even if it's just a little bit at a time. This helps me avoid burnout and keep my creative juices flowing. How He Measures the success Of His Channel In my opinion, success as a content creator should be measured by your work rate and consistency over the years, rather than just your views, likes, and subscriber count. Many creators get fixated on these vanity metrics, which can be discouraging if they don't see the results they expected. Personally, I was surprised to learn that I was one of the mostwatched YouTube shorts creators from blogs, even though I had already surpassed 100 million views in the past year. But for me, success is an ongoing journey. It's important to celebrate your milestones, but then keep pushing yourself to show up on people's feeds and keep creating. Don't get bogged down by the numbers, focus on the quality and consistency of your work, and success will follow. Strategies For Monetising Content on YouTube There are several ways to monetize your content. The most common one is brand collaborations. This is when a brand pays you to talk about your product on any of your social media platforms.
VOLUME 12
20
Most Challenging Content So Far
The reason why this is very common is because Nigerian brands actually have a very sizeable budget for social media marketing and working with local contact creators has proved to be very effective for achieving their marketing goals. YouTube's Partnership Program (YPP) is another great way to monetize your content. You get paid for every 1000 monetized playback, which means that means every time 1000 people watch an advert before your video plays on YouTube, you get paid a certain amount. It could be between 0.5 be $50 for everyone 1000 people who watch ads on your YouTube. But in order to qualify, you need at least 4000 hours of watch time and 1000 subscribers in the past year. There are other ways to monetize your contacts with Super Like and Super thanks, which aren’t exclusive to Youtube. Other platforms have gifting tools for your fans to give back to you. I do feel some sort of way about taking money from my audience, even as a ‘thank you’. However, it is one of the ways that people could make money. One of the most lucrative ways that YouTubers also monetize their content is brand sponsorships, whereby in the middle of your video, you take a break to talk about your sponsors, product, or service. This has proved to be very effective, especially with international brands.
One of my most challenging content creations was a race against time. I had committed to releasing two full reviews consecutively, but one of the phones arrived much later than expected, putting me in a time crunch. Despite the late arrival, I pulled two all-nighters in a row to ensure that the videos were delivered on time. It felt like a nearly impossible task, but I managed to make it happen. How AI/ChatGPT Has Helped Ease Content Creation Process ChatGPT helps for administrative purposes, when it comes to replying to clients’ emails, making requests, and correspondence. However, I could not find AI-generated scripts to capture the essence of an authentic creator but I am grateful for the administrative tools, because that is equally important. His Take on Collaboration Collaborating with content creators, regardless of their size, can bring immense value. Many larger creators may see collaborations as simply a way to increase their subscriber count, but in reality, it's about enhancing your community and ensuring that nobody leaves. When done correctly, collaborations can provide viewers with something extra and improve the experience for both parties. Personally, I have received some of the most touching feedback as a result of collaboration, as it allows people to get to know the real me. I highly recommend it.

How He Keeps Up with YouTube Trends/algorithm Changes As a content creator who also consumes content, you're bound to learn something new and stay informed about platform changes, which is good for the algorithm. YouTube keeps its creators updated, so you don't have to worry about being caught off guard. You'll have an idea of what to expect when to expect it, and how it can benefit you. How He Balances Work and Personal Relationships As a content creator, work-life balance is crucial to me. I often prioritize leisure over work, and I achieve this by extending my work travel dates to explore more of the city, going out to lunch or dinner with fellow creators, and even heading to the beach to shoot content while still enjoying myself. These little pleasures are some of the perks of being an independent content creator. Future of YouTube and Online Video Content Shor t - for m v i d e o c onte nt i s becoming more popular, with YouTube allowing the monetization of short videos. Creators are shifting towards creating bite-sized, portrait videos, and there is an increase in new creators doing well with short-form content. While long-form creators are still seen as more professional and bankable, there is potential for success in the future for short-form creators.
Advice To New YouTubers If you’re just starting on YouTube, I would say that you should focus on making sure that your content is very interesting. Think about the people who are going to watch the video, they don’t know who you are yet so make a good impression on every single video. You need to share your videos to your friends on every social media platform. One way to guarantee that you do well on the platform is to make shareable content. It’s not the easiest thing in the world, but if you make it shareable, people will share it and other people will watch it, and the algorithm will push it to even more people, with your subsequent videos. Content creation/Youtubing as a Lucrative Industry While this is not the case for every content creator on YouTube, I think YouTube is one of the most lucrative platforms for content creators. Other platforms are on the race tracks pulling massive income for their top creators as well. We now live in an era where content creation is hardly seen as a hobby anymore. That tiny camera of your phone has the power to generate life changing income.

Most challenging Content One of the most challenging pieces of content I have created to date was a review of a refrigerator. It was quite different from my usual tech reviews of smartphones, laptops, and accessories, and presented a unique set of challenges but not in the “I never want to do that again” kind of way. However, despite the unfamiliar territory, I found the experience to be incredibly rewarding. It tested my versatility and knowledge about consumer tech and ultimately helped me grow as a creator.
How AI/ChatGPT Has Eased His content creation Process Although AI/ChatGPT has gained popularity in content creation, I have never used it myself. How He stay updated with trends and changes in the YouTube algorithm I make it a priority to stay connected to the internet and keep up with the latest advancements in technology and the various platforms we use. I highly recommend not neglecting any emails or messages you receive from YouTube or your studio dashboard. Additionally, there are content creators, such as Think Media and VidIQ, who focus on discussing changes in social media platforms, and I make an effort to stay informed by following their updates. The Future of YouTube and online video content In Nigeria In Nigeria, YouTube content creation is still in its early stages with ample growth potential. The market is far from saturated, so if you possess the necessary discipline to begin now and persevere over time, you will enjoy the benefits. This observation applies to content creation across the board. The number of consistent tech creators on YouTube in Nigeria is negligible, with a count that is difficult to exceed 10, or perhaps 15 at most. This indicates that space is abundant for anyone else who has the inclination and dedication to pursue it. Influencer marketing is becoming increasingly popular among brands, and when you produce content, you are establishing a specific audience that these brands would like to engage with through your channel.
Advice For Every YouTuber Just like any other creator would tell you, building a successful YouTube channel is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes time and effort, but the rewards are worth it. The key to success is consistency and constant improvement. To make it as a YouTuber, you need to treat it like a serious business venture and put in the necessary work to thrive. Don't get too focused on the money, as that can lead to frustration and disappointment. Instead, focus on growing your audience and improving the quality of your content. The money will come naturally with time. Don't ignore the power of social media. It can be a great tool to reach a wider audience and build your brand. And lastly, for those looking to build a successful channel - Just Start! There are people with fewer resources than you already doing that which you feel you need more resources for.

ootball! The beautiful game is more than just a sport. It's a global phenomenon, a way of life, and a unifying force that transcends borders, cultures, and languages. With millions of fans around the world, it's no surprise that football stars command a massive following, and with that comes big money, endorsements, and salaries that would make your head spin. But what happens when the final whistle blows and the roar of the crowd fades away? For many footballers, retirement can be a daunting prospect, as they find themselves in unfamiliar territory after spending their youth and early adult life chasing a ball on the pitch. While some players struggle to adjust to life after football due to various circumstances which can be related to bad investment, mismanagement of funds et al, others have taken to the business world like a duck to water. These former football stars have leveraged their skills, experience, and celebrity status to build successful careers beyond the pitch. Let's take a look at five of the most successful footballers turned entrepreneurs after retirement.

hen it comes to football legends, few names stand out quite like De Lima Ronaldo. The Brazilian striker was a force to be reckoned with on the pitch, dazzling fans and opponents alike with his incredible skill, speed, and goal-scoring prowess. Over the course of his illustrious career, he played for some of the finest clubs in Europe, including PSV, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and AC Milan. Ronaldo's list of accomplishments is nothing short of remarkable. He won the World Cup and Golden Boot with Brazil in 2002, and he was also the recipient of the prestigious Ballon d'Or and FIFA Best Awards. But even after retiring from football in 2011, Ronaldo wasn't content to rest on his laurels. Instead, he set his sights on a new challenge: becoming a successful sports entrepreneur.
DE LIMA RONALDO (Club Owner)
And he's done just that. Ronaldo's biggest acquisition to date has been Spanish football club side Real Valladolid, which he bought a 51% controlling stake in back in 2018 for a cool 30 million euros. Since then, he's increased his ownership to 82% of the shares, and he now serves as the club's president of the board of directors.
M
athieu Flamini wasn't just any ordinary midfielder. He was a fierce competitor on the pitch, leaving everything out there for his team. But it was his off-field endeavors that truly set him apart from the rest. While still playing for Arsenal and winning a league title with Italian giants AC Milan in 2011, Flamini teamed up with his business partner, Pasquale Granata, to set up GF Biochemicals in 2008. Their mission? To help safeguard the future of the planet. And they've done just that. GF Biochemicals is the only company in the world that produces levulinic acid derivatives at a commercial scale directly from biomass. This cutting-edge technology allows them to mass-produce a fuel made from plant waste that can be used in the creation of plastics.
mathieu flamini (entrepreneur)
It's a business venture that has paid off in more ways than one. GF Biochemicals is estimated to be worth a staggering £21 billion, thanks to its groundbreaking work in sustainable fuel production. And in 2020, Forbes estimated that the stakes held by Flamini and Granata in the company were worth an eye-watering £10 billion each. It's clear that Flamini's legacy extends far beyond the football pitch. He's a true pioneer in the world of sustainable technology, and his work with GF Biochemicals is a testament to his commitment to creating a better future for all of us.
R
obbie Fowler was more than just a striker. He was a goal-scoring machine, a hero to fans of Liverpool, Leeds United, and Manchester City alike. And while his playing days may be behind him, Fowler has proven that he's just as savvy off the pitch as he was on it. In the aftermath of the 2009 property market crash, many footballers found themselves in dire financial straits. But not Fowler. He had already established himself as a shrewd property investor, and his portfolio survived the crash unscathed.
robbie fowler (Property Expert)
His success in the property world was so great that Manchester City fans would chant "We all live in a Robbie Fowler house" during his time at the club. And it's no wonder why the 48-year-old owns over 80 properties across England, Scotland, and Wales, a VOLUME 12
26
According to Spear's Wealth Management Survey, Fowler's total net worth is estimated to be around £31 million. It's clear that this former footballer has a knack for making smart financial decisions, and his success in the property market is a testament to his skill and determination. Robbie Fowler may have been a legend on the pitch, but he's just as much of a legend off it.
A
ndrea Pirlo was a midfield maestro on the football pitch, gliding around effortlessly and orchestrating play with ease. His talent was so great that he helped lead Italy to a World Cup victory in 2006. After retiring from football in 2017, Pirlo turned his attention to coaching and also decided to try his hand at entrepreneurship. The Italian legend became the proud owner of a wine company called PRATUM COLLER, which is based in the picturesque town of Brescia in northern Italy. The company produces around 20,000 bottles of wine per year, and Pirlo is heavily involved in the wine making process. His passion for wine making has earned him praise from critics and wine enthusiasts alike.
andrea pirlo (Wine Company Owner)
Pirlo's move into wine making may seem unexpected, but it's not entirely surprising. The Italian culture is known for its love of good food and wine, and Pirlo is no exception. He has always been a connoisseur of fine wine, and his decision to start his own wine company is a testament to his passion for the craft. Andrea Pirlo may have retired from football, but he's still making waves in the business world. His wine company is just another example of his drive and determination to succeed in all aspects of his life.
N
o list of successful footballers-turned-entrepreneurs is complete without mentioning the one and only David Beckham. With stints at some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, and AC Milan, Beckham was the poster boy of English football. And his marriage to Victoria, a member of the world-famous Spice Girls, only increased his popularity. But Beckham's success wasn't limited to the football pitch. He's made a name for himself in the business world as well, with his investment company DB Ventures leading the charge. Through this company, he's made a number of savvy investments, including coowning and serving as president of Major League Soccer's Inter Miami. He's also invested in Guild Esports, Cellular Goods, Beckham Brand Holdings Ltd, Footwork Productions, and Lunaz Design.
david backham (club Owner)
Beckham's success as an entrepreneur has been nothing short of impressive, and it's clear that he's just as talented in the boardroom as he was on the football pitch. His dedication to business has helped him build a vast empire that includes a wide range of interests and investments, and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

ou are probably one of those who believe that the key to promotion is solely working overtime, schmoozing with the boss, or always looking dapper. But studies have shown that the secret might lie in something more personal. According to Oregon State University, people who orgasm at least once a day are far more likely to enjoy their jobs, put in extra effort, and advance their careers. To understand the impact of sex on work, the researchers documented 159 married employees over the course of two weeks, asking them to complete two surveys a day. They found men and women were far more productive, in more positive moods, and engaged if they'd had sex the night before. And the elevated mood levels in the morning led to more sustained work engagement and job satisfaction throughout the workday. The effect lasted for at least 24 hours. for both men and women. A few years ago Per-Erik Muskos, a councilman from Övertorneå, Sweden had announced plans to give some of the municipality's employees paid time off to have sex, this was in a bid to boost the town's declining population as well as improve employee moods and productivity, something the Nigerian or US government will probably never consider. Sex can have both positive and negative effects on productivity, depending on various factors such as frequency, intensity, and individual differences.

The pleasure and fulfillment that comes from having sex may be part of the human experience, but it is unlikely that it will increase productivity in the long run. Planning and developing strategies to ensure the organization's effectiveness and growth should be the main objectives of every business owner or management team. In addition to promoting growth and raising brand awareness, Social media marketing is a marketing strategy that enables businesses to encourage consumers to publish user-generated content (UGC), such as online comments and product reviews. It is a great tool for businesses to engage with fans, share their brand story, and inform customers about fresh goods or market trends. According to recent data, 28% of internet users typically discover new products after viewing social media adverts. Suffice it to say that advertising on social media has a significant impact on customer behavior. In a GWI survey, 49% of internet users said they were likely to buy from companies they saw advertised on social media.
HERE ARE SOME WAYS BUSINESS OWNERS CAN LEVERAGE IDENTIFY THE RIGHT SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS SOCIAL MEDIA Company owners should be aware of their industry FOR GROWTH and target market requirements as well as the nature of their industry. For instance, TikTok or Instagram can be a better option than LinkedIn if your company serves a younger demographic. If you are in the B2B company sector or are wanting to advance your career, LinkedIn should be your first pick. If your industry is primarily visual, such as interior design or DIY crafts, you should use visual content platforms like Pinterest. The platform you choose should be influenced by the brand personality, goods, and services you are working with.
CREATE ENGAGING CONTENT The secret to being successful on social media is to produce material that appeals to your target market. Engaging content simply means that it appeals to the audience's eyes, intrigues them, captures their attention, and prompts them to want to learn more about your brand after viewing it. Company owners should concentrate on producing quality content for their audience. To keep them interested, they can use a variety of media, including videos, photos, infographics, and text-based posts
BRANDING The value of the services and goods offered can be better communicated to current and potential clients by creating branded content. For a firm, brand identity is vital. Investing in and expanding your brand's online recognition is one of the most crucial things you can do to establish it in today's market. The company logo, tagline, and mission statement are just a few examples of generic branding content that most businesses should already have. Additional content that might not be disclosed or displayed on the business website is permitted on social media pages. Make sure to use your social media presence to give customers a means to interact with your business in real-time and remain current on events and specials.
VOLUME 12
NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES Social media has made communicating and collaborating with people all around the world easy and relatively affordable. Companies can create a cross-promotional challenge or giveaway through branded alliances on Facebook groups, seminars online, or by planning events specifically geared at cross-promoting with relevant and like-minded businesses in their field, get featured as a story on a company blog, or appear on someone's podcast through networking methods. Your company can expand by working with other brands and influencers on social media.
33
BUILD A COMMUNITY Online communities can be effective for small businesses since they allow you to connect individuals with like interests and to discuss your goods or services while simultaneously cultivating a group of devoted clients and brand evangelists. Business owners should interact with their customers by answering comments, taking surveys, and holding giveaways. Companies should also take advantage of user-generated content to promote their brand and win the audience's trust. Businesses that have online communities can increase customer loyalty, establish a brand reputation, and interact directly with customers. REPUTATION MANAGEMENT Some of the primary factors that influence a customer's decision to use a company's product or service are its reputation and creditability. By engaging with the customer personally, you may demonstrate pleasant experiences and always keep an eye on both positive and negative online reviews. To highlight the importance your business places on customer service and product standards, use positive social media reviews as a marketing tool. LEVERAGE SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING Because it raises brand awareness, enhances traffic, and provides an understanding of your present and potential customers, social media advertising can be a viable strategy for expanding your audience and fostering growth. To reach their target audience, business owners can use various types of ads, including sponsored posts, stories, and videos. They should also set clear objectives for their ad campaigns and track their performance regularly. VOLUME 12
MEASURE PERFORMANCE Monitoring key metrics like interaction, reach, and conversions on social media should be a regular practice for business managers. They should use this information to improve their social media tactics and enhance their content to stimulate growth. MAXIMIZE AUDIENCE REACH The demographics of your audiences, the goods or services they use most frequently, and the social media platforms where they are most engaged may all be narrowed in on using social media analytics. This improved selectivity also enables your organization to concentrate on engagement, reach, click-throughs, and organic impressions. After a thorough analysis, this data can be used to create advertising strategies that will reach your target demographic as widely as possible. It gives you a chance to connect with a distinct audience that is a good fit for the service or item you are offering. Business owners can effectively use social media by choosing the best platforms, producing interesting content, developing a community, using social media advertising, and tracking results. Conclusively, social media may be an effective tool for business owners to spur growth and raise brand recognition

Nigeria’s Resilient Spirit: A Glimpse Into Nigerian Election and Currency Redesign Saga Humans have an incredible ability to imagine better versions of reality, to envision a brighter future even in the bleakest of times. Nigerians are no exception; despite the country's challenges, its citizens have crafted a hopeful outlook that inspires optimism and positivity. However, recent events have challenged this outlook. The young and dynamic "Soro Soke generation" took to the streets, demanding justice, police reform, and better governance. Though their efforts were peaceful, the election process was rife with violence, manipulation, and irregularities, threatening to dash the hopes of Nigerians who worked tirelessly to elect their preferred candidate. But in the midst of this turmoil, there has been a remarkable resurgence of political engagement and activism in Nigeria. People of all ages have demonstr ate d remark able resi lience and determination in the face of danger and uncertainty. It is a testament to the human spirit, to the enduring hope and courage of Nigerians, that they continue to strive for a better tomorrow, even in the face of daunting challenges.

The recent Nigerian election was a massive disappointment for many citizens who had worked hard to register, obtain their PVC, and cast their votes. Despite the introduction of the Biometric Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), the majority of people felt and still feel that the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed to deliver a peaceful and fair election. To address liquidity issues and ensure a fair election, the President ordered a redesign of 1000, 500, and 200 Naira notes. However, the Central Bank of Nigeria failed to anticipate and plan for potential risks, leading to a cash crunch and widespread economic and social dislocations. The situation became so dire that Nigerians were forced to resort to trading Naira for Naira, leading to a widening gap between the rich and poor. The confusion surrounding the legal status of the old notes further escalated the situation, with banks, filling stations, and traders refusing to accept them. The Central Bank of Nigeria's failure to clarify this issue caused a loss of between N10-15 trillion of national productivity in the first quarter of 2023, according to Yemi Kale, the former director-general of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
37
In the midst of all these challenges, policymakers resorted to playing the blame game. The Central Bank of Nigeria blamed hoarders, politicians, and opportunists for the policy's failure, while critics have accused the bank of failing to adequately plan for the policy's implementation. n a surprising turn of events, the old notes once again became accepted legal tender just a few weeks later. Nigeria and Nigerians have been through a lot in recent times. With generalized insecurity, rising food prices, election-related anxieties, and petrol queues, there is enough tension in the land. We can only hope for a better Nigeria. Prayers have been made, protests have been carried out, the young and old have taken to Peaceful Match in the streets, various cities, communities, and localities, prophecies have been made, votes have been cast, people have died, blood, and tears have been shed. However, one thing remains, we are our own problems and only Nigerians can save Nigeria

andmark Africa is no doubt one of the biggest Business, Leisure and Lifestyle Brands in Nigeria, if not the biggest. It's such a commendable feat that has been achieved by the brain behind the brand. For this 12th volume of the Uncutxtra magazine which is an Entrepreneurial issue, Afrobeatsglobal presenter Omobolanle Adigun (@omobolanleadigun_) had an interesting conversation with the CEO of the Landmark Africa group, PAUL ONWUANIBE. The interview unraveled a lot of answers to knowledgeable questions.
For the sake of those who don't know that Landmark Group of companies comprises of not just the popular Beach and Hall, can you share details of the different business entities that makes up the Landmark Africa Group and their locations?
Previously, the brand was known as just 'Landmark' without the addition of ' Africa'. Sometime later, I had a conversation with the manager when we were raising some funds for the Landmark initiative. This discussion was about changing the brand's name to something monumental, something that wasn't location specific and most importantly, something people can remember. This is how we arrived at the name 'Landmark Africa'.
Since Landmark Africa is a Business, Leisure and Lifestyle company, we have a lot that we do and all these businesses are within the Landmark Ecosystem in Lagos.
Most people's touch point with Landmark is either the conventional center or the beach. However, Landmark is a 'Business, Leisure and Lifestyle establishment'. We have several industries under the Landmark brand and they include; a Nigerian University of Technology and Paul Onwaunibe in this interview discusses his success Management, Health and Sport facilities, Food and journey, some challenges he has faced thus far, some facts Beverages(which has about 82 different retail vendors that represent different organizations), the Landmark Towers about his personal life and a lot more. (which also has a lot of international companies seated in the building) and a lot of other businesses. What inspired the Brand name 'Landmark Africa'?
VOLUME 12
You have an interesting educational background, what informed your decision and how early in life did you decide on what you wanted to do?
40
What has made the Landmark brand stand out from other businesses in the same field? I think we've got a deliberate strategy. Our strategy is to 'bring as many people as possible to the Landmark Ecosystem, then to make sure that they have a great time as possible. We ensure that they have an experience which nobody else can give them and then send them away to tell other people about us. Also, we ensure that there are enough things here for them to do and that they feel special so that they can bring back more people. If we do this well, it'll be good for us and if we do it poorly, it'll be bad. Customer treatment is about the physical and emotional treatment so it's about: what they see, what they do and how they feel. We always try our best to get a balance even though we aren't perfect. You spent so much time abroad; schooling and working but you still decided to come home to bless the country with such facilities and services that 'Landmark Africa' offers. Despite the different major challenges faced by Entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Why Nigeria?
Have you read the book 'Atomic Habits? The truth is that nobody chooses what primary or secondary school you go to as a child, your parents do. Though we lived in London at the time, my father decided to send me to a boarding secondary school in Nigeria when I was ten years old. During my time in secondary school, I liked about two or three subjects a lot; Economics, Mathematics and Physics. Because I was really good at the stated subjects and I was very creative, I decided to study a course that was related to the subjects so I could pass easily. In addition, I've always loved interacting with people and I also loved the people who were involved in active job roles such as; the taxi driver or the guy who picks up the dustbin from houses. Due to this, I said to myself “when I grow up, I want to do something action-related, something that makes me interact with a lot of people.” Hence, the reason why I tell people that my career choice wasn't intentional but by accident.
VOLUME 12
41
The first reason is because I am Nigerian. Also, the beautiful thing about life is that no matter how successful you become, what matters the most is how you are thought of, especially at home. Hence, when you are home; you are affecting the lives of people who are like you, people who you can relate with, people who speak the same language as you and people who represent the same culture as you. I think I got to a decision-making stage in my life in the early 2000s; when I had opened offices in Europe, America and visited Nigeria a couple of times. This said time was a time when a lot was changing in Nigeria; leadership was getting better, infrastructure was getting better, and there was better exposure because of the invention of telecommunications/IT. Even though there were still some shortcomings in Nigeria at the time, I felt the time was right to establish the brand in Nigeria. I was taught to always 'find out where the people are going and get there first' because the demographic
diligence was going to turn up at that point. So I felt that it was the right time to come home to make an impact, influence the lives of people like me who are also relevant to me. You have over 25 years' professional experience in design and execution of projects in Africa, USA and Europe. As a professional, what do you think are the major challenges the Real Estate and tourism industry is faced with at the moment and what are your recommended solutions? First of all, the Tourism and Real Estates industries are two different industries but they meet at a point. Real Estate is a platform for all industries while Tourism is an important industry that encompasses hospitality and leisure. Do you know that the tourism industry employs one in ten people on planet earth? It's the biggest industry for employment and the biggest industry for real change. This is because you have different people from different countries come in everyday to explore a new country or space. About the challenges that the industry is faced with; first, the government needs to take this industry seriously. To take the industry serious, the government needs to promote it and to promote it, the government needs to promote Nigeria abroad by creating a platform where people who want to create tourist's attractions find it easier to do. Ab out the challenges; the government needs to take this industry seriously and to do this, the government needs to promote it, the government needs to promote Nigeria abroad by creating a platform
where people who want to create tourist's attractions find it easier and more successfully. Secondly, a level of infrastructure; road, sewage, water, electricity need to be provided. As a realtor, when we build buildings, 40% of the infrastructures we build aren't things we should be providing and that's why charges are expensive because we end up doing things that your government should be doing for us. The third thing is finance. You can't build these things if you don't have access to loans and finance. It's not a trade where you make your money back in 30 days' time so you need sources of finance from either the government or institutions. Someone said to me that the residential mortgage industry in Nigeria alone is worth 15 trillion dollars. That' a lot but to unlock it, the government needs to unpin it so that people like you and I can have access to cheap finance so we can build properties and by this we'll create employment and other benefits. Those are the major challenges and that's where the rule of law comes in; VOLUME 12

contracts have to matter and have to be dealt with expediently. Lastly, security matters because no one wants to be where they aren't secure. It's a thing to have great dreams and it's another thing to be able to finance the realization of the dreams. What you've done with 'Landmark Africa' must have cost a lot! While starting the brand, how were you able to finance the dream and how do you continue to finance your existing projects? It's incremental. The thing about life is you do one thing, you finance it and then you make some profit and use that profit to finance some other dreams and then you keep growing. Yes, some million dollars come in but it comes in over a 25 year period. First to get finance on a business, you need to have a great idea and execute it in a way no one can. And third, it has to be bankable so you can have people saying 'you know what? I don't mind putting some of my money here.' Sometimes, we are successful and sometimes we are not but keep trying.
It was in the news recently that Landmark Africa secured a $24 million funding for the development of your new project, the Landmark Water View Apartments. Can you tell us more about this development projects? Yes, Shelter Afrique which is a PanAfrican development financial institution loaned us $24 million dollars to do two things; refinance a certain debt and develop the Landmark Waterview Apartments building. The latter is a 30 floor building which is going to be the second tallest residential building in this part of Nigeria and it's going to turn up in a way that no other building in Nigeria is. It's going to be a business, leisure and lifestyle building. It's under construction and should be ready in two and half years.
who are you guys?' It was a bill worth being paid. How do you define a successful Entrepreneur? A successful entrepreneur is one who makes a difference in other people's lives. Whatever it is that you do, as long you can make a good difference in other people's lives and these people can tell other people about your goods and services then that's a path to success. Because with this, comes a lot of other things you want; wealth and recognition. But a reward for good work is more work so you have the opportunity to also influence more people's lives. As a successful Entrepreneur who has spoken at notable business summits and being a judge at numerous corporate contests, what are the tips to setting up and maintaining a successful business?
One of the many great goals of E nt re pre n e u r s i s to c re ate j ob opportunities for the society. What's the workforce capacity of 'Landmark Africa' and how best do you source the right talent to buy into your vision of building I'll say it depends on the kind of business the most visited Business, Leisure and involved. This is because there's no point producing the best product in the world when there's no one to buy it. Ensure that you do your research and give the market what they want and not what you want. And the last ingredient for a successful business is 'patience.' Good things don't happen at once or in a hurry so most times, you have to wait your time. For anyone who follows you, it may be right to say that one of your favorite quotes is that from Churchill which says “We make a Living by what we get, but make a life by what we give.” As one of the leading mixed use development firms in Nigeria, do you have any existing or future CSR projects? Yes, CSR is what we do because we are a community developer that loves to influence not just our customers but the people who work for us and live around us. Our CSR provisions include; good roads, electricity, sport facilities, health facilities and educational services. Formally, we haven't yet kicked off
sponsor the Nigerian University of Technology and Management. When I look back at the biggest health challenge we've had in the country which is COVID 19, we provided a partnership where we supported with one of the COVID centers in Lagos and spent over a billion naira giving back to the society. I like to think that during this period, we made a big difference with that. On time management, how are you effectively able to manage your businesses, sit on different boards, engage in your hobbies and make time for family and friends without being stressed?
person. Also, when someone does something, don't take their time for granted as if that's the only thing they had to do because they are only doing it because it is important to them. I use this principle to work. If it's important to me, I make time for it, if it's not; I try to get someone to make time for it. We've had a recurring collapse of buildings in Nigeria recently. What do you think the problem is and how do you recommend we prevent such from happening?
First, I tell people that 'stress is a choice' If you want to be stressed, you'll be stressed. It's like happiness, it's a choice! Sometimes, I'm stressed because I choose to be stressed. In terms of time management, everybody has the same 24 hours so whether you are sleeping or changing the world, everyone has the same 24 hours to do it. In life,
I don't want to be controversial but I'm going to be controversial. As a real estate developer, let's assume it costs you a hundred units to build a building; only fifty units actually go to the bricks and mortar of that building. The regulatory environment also consumes about twenty to thirty units while the infrastructure you are putting in is about twenty to thirty units. Apart from this, the things you have to do to get out of the ground and keep the regulators away also cost you money

finished product. What then happens is that people try to find ways to make it cheaper. The truth is, if the government is reading this, they need to lower the regulatory laws and costs when it comes to things like; the cost of buying planning consents, titles and all the other stuff you have to do with the government. This is because it doesn't make sense that you spend 30% percent of your cost on a sheet of paper. What then happens is that by the time you get to site, you'll get the Do-ityourself developers who will look for ways to save money and think they can get away with it. These developers don't mix the cement well nor wait for the normal duration of the building procedures and that is one of the reasons why buildings start collapsing or are badly produced as a finished product. We need to find a way to make this thing cheaper and also a way to localize it. Real Estate is a local business so you are making it for people who earn locally and if nobody can afford it, there's no use doing it. Due to the stated challenges, there's a lot of financial stress in packaging real estate. Lastly, it's a long-term business because when you build a building you don't expect to make your money in four or five years. In twenty five years, you are still paying loans so you expect making money over generations Have in twenty to thirty years. If you have this level of patience, you ever had a you'll erect buildings that look nice and will last if Breaking point in your career not, you'll have issues. when you almost gave up? If yes, when was this and what keeps you going? Every day, I have Breaking points. There are difficult situations and this is because business is about people. You need to understand that there are different things you need to do to motivate people around you so that they can buy into the dream, work hard and be deliberate enough to realize the dream. We welcome between 20-30 thousand people every day to the Landmark Ecosystem. Being here watching people happy also brings me a lot of pride.

So many marriages have crashed while the parties blame it on either one partner being too invested in his or career but you do a lot and seem like a family oriented man. What is the secret to being a career person while maintaining a successful marriage? You should ask my wife this though. But like I said earlier, you have 24 hours in a day and you give attention to what is important. Time is about what you put into the hours devoted to a thing and not the number of hours itself. I take my family, friends and colleagues seriously and when I have to put time into something, I put quality time into it. Marriage is a different topic entirely because I think it's about people and it takes two to tangle. If two people have enough flexibility, energy and desire to make it work, then it'll work. We've put a lot into our marriage and hopefully, we'll get a lot out of it. What do you do to relax? Well, I'm living my dream so I'm relaxing all the time. I run a Business, Leisure and Lifestyle Organization, so every time I'm in business, I'm in leisure. By doing this, I'm living a lifestyle. If you were not into Real Estates, what other career paths do you think you'll thrive in? It's a deep question. I've spent forty years of my life or more in this industry so I've done nothing else than this business. One thing I know is that I'm actually good at interacting with people, so if I wasn't doing buildings, I'll be finding ways to deal with people. Also, I have lectured before so I can do something that has to do with education. If not all these states options then maybe I would have been a tour guide or a Presenter. VOLUME 12

What are some of the future goals for 'Landmark Africa'? Currently, we are the fastest growing Business, Leisure and Lifestyle destination brand in the West African coast. One of our future goals is to become the number one business, leisure and lifestyle platform in Africa. As a matter of fact, it's our ultimate goal. Also, as I stated earlier, we are about to build the Waterview apartment block and hopefully it will transform the way people interact in this Ecosystem. We are looking at building a twenty thousand seats indoor arena and hopefully that'll put Lagos on the map as we'll be able to then host international events like; boxing games, football matches, tennis games and even international concerts where local or international musicians can hold shows. When these facilities are ready, we'll hopefully make a difference. Also, we are planning to do some experiential stuff. Some people might have heard about the Dubai or London Aisle that has skylines, wheels and all sorts. We are also hoping to do something like this. We think it will change the experiential flavor of what most people come to do at Landmark. What's your advice to Entrepreneurs who see you as their mentor and want to become a successful entrepreneur sometime in future? In very simple statements, good old fashioned principles, embrace: hard work, integrity, dedication, perseverance, and find out what your super power is. What is that thing that when you do, it births exceptional results? Do it! So many people go to the grave without knowing what their super power is. The number one thing is to know what your super power is and then use these old fashioned principles to promote your super power. While at it, ensure that you also influence the lives of other people because when you influence other people's lives, you influence your own life too. For people who will love to connect with you and Landmark on social media, where can they find you? I’m on Instagram, Linkedin and Twitter @Paulonwuanibe

PHUPHO GUMEDE South African Celebrity Stylist
Africa’s Most Sought After Stylist Talks Wins, Fashion Politics, and Mental Health
I
magine being a fashion stylist and having already styled 21 magazine covers before turning 21 - that's the story of Phupho Gumede. In an exclusive interview with Uncutxtra magazine presenter, Chioma Ezeh, Phupho talks about his incredible career growth so far, the politics in the fashion industry, and so much more.
HIS JOURNEY SO FAR From one milestone to the next, my journey in the world of style and fashion has been a wild one. It hasn't been easy, and it can be tricky because you wouldn’t have thought the business of style or fashion would be lonely because you are always surrounded by people, but it is quite lonely, and when you do so much, tick some boxes and achieve some major feats at a certain age you start ruffling some feathers in your space something I never saw coming. People want you to do well, but not too well, you know what I mean? I am constantly learning, and as they say, the universe will keep teaching you until you finally get it - that is where I am at right now - always growing, always pushing forward.
IF ANYONE EVER MADE HIM F E E L H E WA S N ’ T G O O D ENOUGH As a young professional with a famous sister, I've had to navigate through various challenges in my career. Every project I undertake is an opportunity to prove my worth and show that I can deliver exceptional results. Unfortunately, not everyone shares my enthusiasm, and I've faced s ke pt i c s w h o t h i n k t h at my accomplishments are solely due to my sister's fame. I'll never forget the day when I was styling a billboard campaign for 'The Real Housewives of Durban,' and one of the female cast members refused to even glance at the selections I had picked out for her. She accused me of being hired because of nepotism, assuming that I only landed the job not because of how good I was, but because my sister is also in the show and threw the dress I picked for her on the floor, that she wasn’t wearing any of it. This kind of situation has become a recurring experience in my career, even when I started working with more influential celebrities, it is something that I have had to constantly deal with especially because of my age. People tend to doubt my experience because of my age, but I refuse to let their skepticism hold me back.

WHEN HE FELL IN LOVE WITH STYLING The idea of being a stylist never even crossed my mind until I stumbled upon the profession. As a child, I was fascinated by fashion and spent hours watching shows like 'Fashion TV' and 'E! Star shows'. But it wasn't until I witnessed a particular fashion show that everything clicked into place - I knew I wanted to be involved in the world of clothing and design.
At the time, I wasn't exactly sure what role I wanted to play in the fashion industry. All I knew was that I had a deep passion for fashion design. Even as a young child, I found myself giving fashion advice to my sisters, helping them choose the perfect outfit, matching shoes, and accessories for their events. When I was 13, my sister took a chance on me and asked me to design her a red-carpet dress for an upcoming event. With determination and creativity, I set to work and managed to create a stunning dress that earned her the title of 'Best Dressed'. From that moment on, I knew for certain that I wanted to pursue a career in the fashion industry, specifically as a stylist. She became my first client
PROUDEST PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT Oh boy, you're really putting me on the spot! It's like choosing between my babies, haha! Styling 21 magazine covers before even turning 21 was a major flex for me, and proof to myself that I am capable.
And getting listed in Forbes' Under 30? Just a little something to show everyone that I am exactly the person I said I am. But if we're talking career highlights, then my work on Young, Famous, and African takes the cake. It wasn't just about showing off my styling skills, but also navigating the ups and downs of working behind the scenes with explosive star power. I mean, we're talking about dressing Africa's biggest stars for Netflix t h at ' s a w hol e ne w l e vel of responsibility! Something I had never done before. Experiencing both the highs and lows that came with The Young, Famous, and African challenged me not only as a stylist but also as an individual. The personal growth I gained from this experience tested my patience, resilience, determination, and perseverance. For me, this has been the most significant achievement in my career. W HAT MOST PEOPLE P R O BA B LY D O N ’ T K N O W ABOUT THE FASHION/STYLING INDUSTRY
POLITICS!! You might be surprised to know that the fashion and styling industry is rife with politics. It's a cut throat world, and even the most successful stylists and designers have to fight tooth and nail to stay relevant. Take, for example, the recent resignation of Law Roach. When I heard the news, I immediately empathized with him because I know firsthand how intense the politics in this industry can be.
What's even crazier is that I've never been nominated for or won an award in my home country of South Africa. All of my recognition and accolades have come from outside of the country. I've never been invited to the S.A Style Awards or GQ’s best-dressed men awards, even though I regularly run into the same people who organize those events at other industry events.
At first, I was really bothered by this and felt like I needed to do more to be seen and recognized. But over time, I've come to realize that I don't need to be in the same room or category as these other stylists to know that I'm doing great work. I've built a brand around myself and my work, and I'm in sync with who I am as a person and as a stylist.
Recently, there was a Fashion Industry Awards in South Africa, and the entire stylist category was given to someone else - someone I'd never even heard of. But a week later, I received an award in Nigeria. It just goes to show that when you trust in yourself and your abilities, recognition will come - even if it's not from the people you expect. So don't sweat the politics in the fashion industry - focus on doing great work, and the rest will fall into place. The thing is when God shows you your place, it will be ignorant to start crying over the little things

What Inspires You and Your Design? When it comes to fashion, I don't just look at the surface level. It's not just about the clothes, it's about the deeper meaning behind them. I am so passionate about fashion that I dive deep into the research, the theory, and the history behind it. And sometimes, something mystical happens. And you might think I'm crazy, but I truly believe there's a spiritual element to fashion. As if some divine force is guiding me towards the perfect looks, showing me visions of how a particular ensemble will come together like a work of art on a canvas. It's this intangible force that drives my creativity and talent.
Ever Felt Like Giving Up? That happens a lot! I remember When I was with Young, Famous, and African I tried getting out of my contract more than once, during filming. Though, the pay was very good haha! Even the most successful people in the fashion industry have had moments where they've wanted to throw in the towel. I mean, let's be real, the mental and emotional toll that comes with the fast-paced world of fashion can be absolutely exhausting. It's like you're constantly working towards something that only lasts for a moment. You pour all of your energy into a collection that will be showcased for mere minutes, and then it's on to the next one.
I recently watched a documentary on some of the early superstar fashion designers like Lee Alexander McQueen and John Charles Galliano, and it was eye-opening to see just how much pressure they were under. Galliano, for instance, was churning out 32 collections a year - that's a lot of pressure for anyone. Sometimes, it can feel like you're on a never-ending treadmill - you're constantly chasing that high, that rush of adrenaline that comes with a successful collection or a big fashion event. But then it's over, and you're left wondering, "What's next?" It's in those moments that I think we all consider throwing in the towel. But ultimately, it's our passion for fashion that keeps us going. Despite the challenges, despite the pressure, we keep pushing forward because we know that this is where we belong.
What it feels like filming His First Queer Role I was approached by someone, but sadly I really can’t talk much about it because it hasn’t been released yet. Hopefully, we can go back to it when it is released.
His Love Life Have you ever taken a hiatus from something you loved because of emotional exhaustion? That's what happened to me when my mum passed away. I was so closed off emotionally that I couldn't give anything to anyone, let alone a romantic partner. I didn't want to waste anyone's time, so I took a twoyear break from the dating scene. During that time, I was like a robot, just working and sleeping to avoid dealing with the pain. But something interesting happened - I became more productive than ever before! I accomplished so much because I was just focused on work. Eventually, I realized that I couldn't postpone dealing with my emotional issues forever. So, I started therapy to work through the pain of losing my mum and my complicated relationship with my dad. And slowly but surely, I began to feel more open to the idea of dating again. However, when I jumped back into the dating pool, I was quickly reminded of how frustrating it can be. Despite this, I'm still open to the possibility of finding a m e a n i n g f u l c on n e c t i on w it h someone who is worth my time and effort.
His Sexuality Being Questioned His Relationship With His Dad I really don’t think people question my sexuality because I don't leave anything to the imagination! I'm an open book and I don't believe in hiding who I am. I've never felt the need to scream from the rooftop that I like men, because I've never been in a position where I had to pretend to be someone I'm not. If we are having a conversation, I would say ‘My boyfriend or my ex-boyfriend. I keep my love life pretty private, but that doesn't mean I'm hiding who I am. My sexuality is a part of who I am and I embrace it fully.
Toxic relationships can be tough to navigate, especially when it comes to family members. In my case, it was my father who I had been trying to connect with for so long, but it never seemed to work out. I eventually came to the realization that I didn't actually want to sort things out with him - I just needed to be honest with myself about not wanting him in my life.
VOLUME 12

As a child, I remember constantly feeling like I was the one trying to maintain our relationship, and that's not something a child should have to do. Even when I distanced myself, my father didn’t seem to notice for a long while, and for me, that was a confirmation that he didn’t really care. When he tried to come back into my life, I felt like I didn’t need him anymore because I had already made peace with his absence and I was able to make the difficult decision to cut him out of my life. It's never easy to let go of someone, especially a family member, but sometimes it's necessary for our own well-being. I'm grateful to have found the love and support I needed from other sources, and I know that I made the right decision for myself. If His Relationship With His Father is Rusty Because of His Sexuality Although I don't think my sexuality is the sole reason for the rustiness in our relationship, it definitely played a big role in my decision to cut him off. I couldn't help but wonder - what if we did eventually sort things out and then I revealed my true self? What if issues regarding my sexuality came up, and we were right back where we started? I wasn't sure if I could handle going through all of that again, and I definitely wasn't ready to put myself through that kind of pain. It's a tough pill to swallow, knowing that my father might not fully accept me for who I am. But at the end of the day, I had to do what was best for my own mental health and well-being. I hope that someday we can work through our differences and come to a place of understanding, but for now, it's better for me to keep my distance.
His Thought on the Law Recently Passed In Uganda Against Gays? Personally, I feel really sad about what happened in Uganda. It's a sad reality that in 2023, we still have countries like Uganda passing laws against the LGBTQ+ community. It's inhumane and downright wrong. It makes me question why we still have dictators and dictator-like societies in this day and age. As someone who is from Africa, I can't help but wonder why our governments are so focused on policing people's sexuality instead of addressing the real issues that plague us as a nation. We need to focus on basic necessities like food, water, and electricity - things that are still considered a luxury in some parts of the continent. It's frustrating to see lawmakers waste their time and energy on passing bills that only serve to further marginalize and oppress a minority group. We have so much potential as a continent, and it's a shame that we're not putting our efforts toward building a better future for all Africans. For Those Hesitant to Embrace Their Identity To those who fear stigmatization and judgment for their sexuality, I say this: don't let anyone dim your light. You are who you are, and that's something to be celebrated. Of course, it's important to prioritize your safety above all else - especially in countries where being open about your sexuality could be a matter of life or death. But living your truth is important. Believe in who you are and don't feel like you need to shout it from the rooftops if you're not ready.
It's okay to take things at your own pace and come out on your own terms. Just know that there is a whole community of people out there who will support you and love you for who you are. You are not alone. So hold your head up high, be proud of who you are, and never let anyone make you feel ashamed of that. His Key To Staying Relevant Over The Years To truly stay relevant in any industry, it all comes down to hard work and authenticity. You can't rely on shortcuts or scandals to keep you in the spotlight - those things are fleeting and often backfire. Instead, focus on doing the work and doing it well. Make sure your work is always visible and out there for the world to see. After all, if it's not seen, it doesn't exist. Promote and push your work constantly, and let it speak for itself. That's how you build a reputation for quality and authenticity that will keep you relevant for years to come. Real and long-lasting relevance comes from doing the work EXPERIENCE STYLING THE UNCUT XTRA COVER STAR VOLUME 11 Working with the team was an amazing ride! We were bouncing ideas off each other like a game of ping pong. The photographer, Yusuf Mitha was a magician behind the camera, capturing every shot with precision and flair. And as for our cover star, Cindy Thando, well, she's such an amazing lady. We'd collaborated on previous projects and I knew she'd bring her A-game, but seeing her own the style we'd created with such poise and elegance was truly something else. It was an absolute honor to be a part of it all. VOLUME 12

Craziest rumour you have heard about yourself The wildest rumor I've heard about myself is that I only made it to the Forbes Under 30 list by sleeping my way there. When I first heard it, I was taken aback by how ridiculous it was. It ' s f r u st r at i ng w he n p e opl e undermine the hard work and dedication it took to get where I am today, especially at a young age in a competitive industry like fashion. But I know that kind of negativity usually comes from a place of envy and ignorance, so I don't let it affect me too much. People can be so quick to tear you down when you're successful. But I won't let it get to me.
Advice To Upcoming Fashion Designers In the fiercely competitive world of fashion, success is earned through hard work, collaboration, and perseverance. As an upcoming fashion designer, you must focus on the possibilities and connect with those who will appreciate your talent. Don't let naysayers dim your creative spirit or discourage you from pursuing your dreams. Remember, everything you desire is on the other side of hard work and dedication. So, unleash your inner magic and let the world witness your unique fashion vision.

King Charles III Coronation Ceremony
T
he day finally arrived, after years of waiting and wondering. It was May 6th, 2023, and the entire nation was poised to witness the grand coronation of King Charles III, a momentous event that would shape the course of history. But this was no ordinary ceremony—it was a weekend-long celebration that would captivate the hearts of all who bore witness. The streets burst to life with an infectious energy as processions wove their way through the historic avenues, spreading joy and excitement to every corner of the United Kingdom. The nation was adorned with decorations, a clear reflection of the land itself celebrating the dawn of a new era. And what an extraordinary occasion it was, for on this day, the Prince of Wales ascended the throne, stepping into the formidable shoes of his beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who had passed away eight months earlier in 2022. The anticipation reached its zenith as the nation televised its first coronation in Britain in 70 years. It was an event that would be etched in the memories of generations to come, a true spectacle of regality and reverence. The ceremony was held in the hallowed halls of Westminster Abbey, a place steeped in history and the very essence of royalty. It was here that the last 16 monarchs of England had been crowned, and now, it yet bore witness to another transformative moment. VOLUME 12

uided by the wise presence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the ceremony commenced with solemnity. His presence lent an air of sacredness to the proceedings, infusing each moment with a deep sense of reverence. The anointing of the new king took place, as the archbishop bestowed upon him the symbols of his royal authority—the crown, the scepter, and the orb. Each of these objects carried within them the weight of centuries of tradition, embodying the rich tapestry of a nation's history and the aspirations of its people. Months of meticulous preparations had paved the way for this grand event. Countless officials had toiled tirelessly to ensure that no detail was overlooked. It was a labor of love and a dedication to perfection. The world watched in awe at the display of majestic splendor on this historic day. Dignitaries and guests from every corner of the globe descended upon the United Kingdom, their presence a testament to the immense significance of this occasion. Heads of states, representatives of the British Commonwealth, and other dignitaries graced the event with their noble presence. Alongside them stood members of the royal family, emanating a regal bearing that served as a poignant reminder of the enduring legacy they carried. Even the public had a place in this celebration, for it was the people who breathed life into the monarchy and sought solace in its cherished traditions. Amidst the palpable excitement, whispers of curiosity hung in the air. Would Prince Harry, the beloved son of the new king, be present to witness his father's coronation? The answer, to the delight of all, was a resounding yes. Although there were no photographs capturing the father and son sharing the moment, a trusted source close to the monarch confirmed that Charles was overjoyed to see his youngest son present. However, it was with a tinge of sadness Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex responded to the duty call elsewhere, as she lovingly tended to their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in the warmth of California. It was also gathered that, the day of the coronation, May 6, was also Archie's fourth birthday which might be one of the many reasons she graced the occasion with her absence. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the celebrations continued into the evening, reaching a crescendo of merriment and music. A grand concert took center stage, captivating the nation and its commonwealth brethren. The majestic Windsor Castle provided the backdrop for this enchanting performance, produced and broadcasted by the venerable BBC. Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and so many other stars graced the ceremony with their performances. Their harmonies echoed through the air, bridging the gap between. Long live the king! VOLUME 12
