Our MSc course with extended practice, offers a unique world-class, training and education opportunity to join a popular and highly regarded, level 7 CIPD accredited programme focused on individual student support opportunities and high-quality teaching. We help you develop into a ‘career ready professional’ reflecting your level of experience, through applied practice, problem-based learning and research-informed teaching.

You will gain the skills set to strategically manage, retain and develop people and resources more effectively, through skilfully crafted modules that underpin your understanding of the psychological make-up of employees, including the strategic management and development of workforce talents in a rapidly changing business world, though their lifecycle within an organisation.

The course is flexibly delivered by highly experienced practitioners and academics who are CIPD members and fellows, with guest practitioners occasionally invited to enrich your learning. Teaching is through a series of quarterly weekend skills labs and blended block sessions combining weekly online and on-campus classes. Assessments are integrative in nature, ensuring reduced frequency of modular assignment submissions. The varied mode of delivery offers invaluable opportunity to flexibly combine work with study.

Learners enrolled on the two-year, extended practice route option, will embark on a minimum of six months placement embedded into the course curriculum gaining insightful professional practice experience in businesses based across Suffolk and the East Anglian region.

Opportunities to build and grow your professional networks through interactions with fellow students from diverse global cultures, meet leading practitioners in guest sessions as well as make contacts attending local and national CIPD events are actively promoted on the course and enhance your learning experience.

Entry requirements

Typical offer:

• A Bachelor’s degree in HRM or related field of study (or equivalent)

• Evidence of ongoing professional people management experience or other people managerial experience relevant for progression onto the course

• Recognition of prior learning — typical requirement for this will be a postgraduate diploma (120 credits) in either Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, and other related Management Studies

Entry requirements

Students will be required to have at least three years relevant work experience before starting on our new MBA programmes

Preferably students will hold a Bachelors (Hons) degree at 2:2 (or above), but experience will also be considered

Will be required to supply two references. Preferably one academic and one from recent or current employment
