Abigail Simpson-Stoner is a fine artist based in the United Kingdom. Although she studied Fine Art during college, most of the techniques she uses today are self taught. Art has been Abigail’s passion since a very young age and she can’t see that changing any time soon.

‘Beauté’ I was inspired to create this piece as part of a series dedicated to the female form in all its shapes and sizes. This one was my favourite out of the series, because I find the shadowing and lighting very visually appealing. This was created using Faber Castell Polychromo coloured pencils on Clairefontaine Pastelmat paper. I used this colour scheme with this series to represent heat, passion and self love.

‘Heat’ This piece was the first out of a series I have created to represent self love and the female form in all its shapes and sizes. The colours I have used are because of that representation. Colours such as red, yellow and orange are very often associated with heat, passion and love—which is why I decided to incorporate that colour scheme into my work.

This piece was inspired by the timeless classic ‘The Creation of Adam’ by Michelangelo. I have always felt inspired by the renaissance artists and their work. This piece was created using Faber Castell Polychromo coloured pencils on Clairefontaine pastelmat paper.
