Austrian Open-Air Museum Stübing
An unforgettable hike through the valley of history (and stories), and a fascinating annual exhibition offer insight into six centuries of Austrian and south Tyrolian cultural history.
Life as it once was: over 100 historic vernacular buildings are on display in the Austrian Open-Air Museum, most of them original historical buildings. The walk through the museum valley offers an overview of the historical landscapes in terms of houses as found in Austrian provinces. Traditional work, historic crafts and customs from about six centuries, historic gardens, meadows and fields convey an interesting exploration of our ancestors’ everyday life. Exhibitions focus on specific issues, courses convey historic skills, cultural mediation and events try to offer pragmatic synergies between past and present experience.
