YOUR HANDBOOK
In this handbook we introduce you to the different service offerings as well as student initiatives. It shows you how you can be active and get involved when you’re not attending lectures or studying. In addition, this handbook gives you an overview of the most important dates and information to ensure a smooth start of your studies here at the University of Liechtenstein.
WELCOME
Dear Students,
We are delighted to welcome you as students at the University of Liechtenstein for the new semester. With just under 600 students spread across two Bachelor, four Master, and three PhD programmes, the University of Liechtenstein is a small university. Our small size is our strength. It represents short distances, close support from lecturers and administration, as well as a unique team spirit among students and university staff.
The University of Liechtenstein is also an entrepreneurial university, and we would like to support you in your endeavors wherever possible. This applies both to your studies and to ideas and projects related to campus life at the University of Liechtenstein.
The University of Liechtenstein has been known as a university since 2011. However, its history goes back to 1961 when the so-called "Abendtechnikum Vaduz" was founded. The aim then and now was the same: to train and educate specialists for the regional labour market. Liechtenstein is an extremely attractive business location, and we are proud to contribute to this attractiveness by training many students. Our aim is to offer research-based teaching with a strong link to practice. Contacts with companies from the region are very important to us. Studying at the University of Liechtenstein should therefore not only provide you with professional and personal development but also open up networks for your future career.
I wish you a good start to the new semester and look forward to meeting you on various occasions.
Sincerely,
Christian Frommelt

FINANCING YOUR STUDIES
€ CHF
Studying offers a lot of opportunities but also costs money. Liechtenstein is one of the most expensive countries in Europe. But there are a variety of options (grants, scholarships, jobs etc.) to fund your studies.
Below you can find some information concerning the funding of your studies.
Often parents do not only offer moral support but also support you financially during your studies. The standards for child support are different in each country – therefore, it is best to discuss with your parents in how far they can financially support you.
Scholarships are usually performance-related. Apart from academic performance, some scholarships may also require e.g. political or social involvement as well as a proof of other achievements. Scholarships usually do not have to be paid back.
All students who are residents of the Principality of Liechtenstein also have the option to apply for a scholarship of the Swiss Study Foundation.
Students with Austrian citizenship can apply for the Landesstipendium für Vorarlberger Studierende, which supports you with up to 2000 € per year (www.vorarlberg.at/wissenschaft). For German citizens, please check the offers of the DAAD (https://www.daad.de).
Students of the MSc in Architecture have the possibility to apply for an API scholarship. Furthermore, there is the Hilti Fellowship for MSc Information Systems as well as the LGT University Scholarship for MSc Finance students.
Many students work part-time and thereby partially fund their studies on their own. The job offers section on unicommunity.li offers a variety of part-time jobs and internships. When taking up employment, legal regulations need to be taken into account and holders of scholarships need to check their allowed additional earnings.
Another option to fund your studies are study loans. Many banks as well as countries offer suitable formats. The Principality of Liechtenstein offers an interest-free loan to students who have been living in Liechtenstein for at least three years.
CAMPUS: PARKING ON CAMPUS
Parking on Campus
A fee will be charged for the use of all parking areas on the Vaduz Campus and at the off-campus locations. The revenue from the parking area management will be channeled towards a university mobility management scheme as part of the university’s sustainability initiative. There is no fixed parking space and the traffic regulations of the Principality of Liechtenstein apply.
Operating hours
Monday to Friday 7.00 am - 5.00 pm
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays are free of charge
What are the
rates?
The standard rate for parking across the entire site is CHF 0.50 per hour. A day permit costs CHF 1.50 for students and CHF 2 for lecturers and employees. However, this cannot be obtained via the parking meter but via the Parkingpay-System (www.parkingpay.ch)
How does it work?
Parking fees can be paid in cash (only CHF) at the central parking meter (current standard rate of CHF 0.50/hour). Alternatively, cashless payments can be made using the Parkingpay system, available throughout Switzerland (www.parkingpay.ch).
How do I get discounts?
Frequent parkers, students, employees and lecturers can purchase parking permits online. You need to register with parkingpay.ch and register your vehicle registration number in the intranet in advance.
Further information and a parking guide can be found on my.uni.li - Services - Parking

UniVision
UniVision
UniVison Consulting is a student-run consultancy at the University of Liechtenstein. Our goal is to bring companies and students together for exciting projects. We are rooted in academic methods and put learned methods and knowledge from the lecture hall into practice. Our focus is on consulting in the areas of business process management, strategic management, innovation and architectural design.
What you can expect at UniVision:
UniVision offers students development opportunities in three pillars:
* Consulting projects
* Trainings & Workshops
* Networking & Team Events
The projects usually take place in small teams of 3-4 people during the semester. In order for our UniVision members to develop themselves outside of the projects, we also offer workshops and trainings in various topics. The students can benefit from the knowledge of various experts and apply what they have learned in the projects. Of course, UniVision also offers networking and togetherness.
As we have successfully completed numerous projects and continue to seek new opportunities, UniVision Consulting remains dedicated to providing a platform where students can thrive academically and personally. Join us on this journey of growth, learning, and impactful collaboration. Website: www.univision-consulting.com

EUROPEAN ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS
ASSEMBLY
(EASA)
EASA Liechtenstein is part of the larger EASA Network which is a platform for connecting architecture students and professionals across Europe and the world.
Each year a different country within the EASA network hosts the main 2-week long summer workshop. The workshops enable participants to explore alternative forms of architectural thinking and practice outside of the traditional university context.
The annual event is attended by around 600 international participants and consists of around 35 workshops. Besides that evening socials, lectures, excursions, exhibitions and open discussions take place. During the EASA, students and professionals form a community of participants, tutors, organisers and helpers which maintains itself – we all work, study, rest, cook, eat, clean, live and party together.
For additional information on how and when to apply for the next edition of the summer workshop, follow us on Instagram or email us.

neXus - Campus Magazin
The Campus Magazine covers current economic and financial topics from Liechtenstein and the world. Do you like writing? Do you like taking pictures?
As part of the team, you have the opportunity to conduct interviews, take pictures, participate in the design of the layout and, above all, the chance to freely express your ideas, opinions and criticisms.
Our mission
If you are outside of university institutions, you can quickly realize that the relevance of student newspapers is minimal, even zero. In view of this fact, the substantial question arises: Why the new Campus Magazine?
First and foremost, university newspapers offer students the opportunity to communicate with each other as a community with similar interests, concerns, problems and opportunities. University newspapers are push media, while social media and online websites are pull media. Media focus on attracting readers, while newspapers - especially student newspapers - are important for society as a whole and offer new approaches to solving social problems. They model public debates and opinions. Students' criticisms and new world views can diffuse into public discussions. Evidence of this can be seen in the German Vormärz movement or the Vietnam War, where the ideas of university newspapers offered new approaches and openly criticized problems.
What we offer at the Campus Magazin
With the Campus Magazine Team you have the opportunity to travel through the DACH-LI region and conduct interviews with important CEOs, influencers, politicians, et cetera and get to know them. In addition, the team regularly attends important events in the region, such as the Finance Forum Liechtenstein, the Zürcher Marathon or the paradise for entrepreneurs, namely the Start Summit in Sankt Gallen. Join the Campus Magazin Family and be part of our adventures while shaping the future.
