Master’s specialisation in

Educational Science

Educational Science is a specialisation of the Master’s programme Education and Child Studies and focuses on the development of children and adolescents in educational settings. The courses cover childrens and adolescents’ learning processes, the implications thereof for educational practices, and a critical reflection on how educational practices develop and innovate. Particular attention is paid to individual differences between learners. You will understand how individuals develop and learn and how to optimise education for all individuals.

u You will learn to think critically about the development of children and adolescents on the basis of recent theoretical knowledge and empirical research. u This specialisation has a unique interdisciplinary approach: you will study learning processes from a cognitivepsychological and neuroscientific perspective. Moreover, you will be able to look at education from different perspectives: the learning child, the educational practices in schools, and the broader societal context.
