Master’s specialisation in Clinical Psychology
This Master’s specialisation is about theory and basic skills for research, assessment and interventions in the field of mental disorders, such as anxiety and mood disorders, somatisation and personality problems. You will be taught to analyse psychological problems, to evaluate clinical research and to report on clinical issues. You will acquire advanced research skills by participating in one of the research projects of the department. Furthermore, you will be taught how to apply practical assessment and intervention skills in the treatment of common disorders.

u You will acquire important practical skills in assessment and treatment of psychological problems, with a firm theoretical basis. u You will acquire a thorough research background and empirical skills. u You can participate in one of the research projects within the department for example with regard to: childhood maltreatment, anxiety and depression, the effects of stress, emotion regulation, coping, sleep problems, adolescent functioning, mental-healthrelated neurobiological factors, heart rate variability, EEG, e-mental health, etcetera.

Career possibilities You will be able to work as a psychologist in mental health care within, for example, one of the following contexts: prevention, treatment, research, coaching, policy making.
