Clearing can help students without a place at university find their perfect course in time for a September start. Jerry, a member of our friendly Applicant Enquiries team, has put together all the information you need on Clearing so it’s as stress-free as possible. At UEL, we’re always here to help. If you applied late, haven’t yet applied, changed your mind or missed out on the requirements of a conditional offer, there’s no need to panic – you can still secure a place on a course starting this September through Clearing. Key Clearing dates: If you already have your results you can apply through Clearing from Thursday 5th July. If you’re waiting on A Level results you can apply from Thursday 16th August.
What is Clearing? We hope you’ll get the results you want and are accepted to your university of choice – but if things don’t quite go to plan, we’re here to help. Clearing allows universities to fill any places they have left on their courses and gives students another opportunity to find the right course for them. Whether you’re applying late, missed out on grades or have simply changed your mind, Clearing is a route to start your academic journey. Clearing can be a path to university for you if: • You don’t hold any offers • You declined your offers or missed the UCAS response deadline • You applied after 30th June 2018 • You didn’t meet the requirements of your conditional offer • You haven’t yet made an application • You’re a mature student • You’ve changed your mind about your course of study. And we’re here to guide you through the whole process. Our helpful team can answer any questions you have about Clearing, like which courses are available or what it’s like to study at UEL. “ My top tip for students is to pick up the phone and talk it through with us – we are here and happy to help! It will all feel a lot less scary once you’re talking through any questions and queries with a member of our team.” Jerry Voong Applicant Enquiries Manager

Where there’s a place for you “ After not getting onto the course I wanted, I decided to apply for a business management course. I used the UCAS Clearing portal to search for universities that were offering this course. I liked UEL’s modules compared to other universities so I gave them a call, applied and now I’m soon to graduate with a degree in BSc (Hons) Business Management (Marketing)!” Trudy Asante Find out what what our students say at uel.ac.uk/meetourstudents
