Throughout your time with us, we’ll help you develop not only the advanced skills and knowledge you need to improve your abilities, but also the confidence and experience to make big decisions and drive positive change in society.

Our courses are focused on building your career. We have strong industry links in the social work sector, offering our students placements and newly qualified social worker jobs.

The University of East London’s Centre for Social Work Research undertakes pioneering research led by Professor Steve Briggs in contemporary issues like safeguarding, mental health and education.
Partnerships
We have extensive partnerships with institutions like the Victoria Climbie Foundation and the Tower Hamlets Council.
Professional Qualifications
We’re accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council to award professional qualifications in social work alongside academic degrees.
REAL-WORLD TRAINING
With our Mental Wealth Programme, we’ll make sure you’re prepared for life’s challenges. Our emphasis is on building a framework of skills and knowledge that will help you thrive.
If you’re already working, we have a range of courses available for specialised professional development, taught on a parttime basis as individual sessions, by our experienced team. Take just one course on a subject you’re interested in, or take several to work towards a Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or master’s.
If you’re just starting out, our MA Social Work or MA Youth and Community Work is a great place to begin. Both qualifications are accredited so you can get to work straight after graduation.
We work together with the London Boroughs of Newham, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Tower Hamlets and Hackney to keep our students up to date with the social work sector. Professionals from these boroughs come in for guest lectures, to provide teaching support and sit in on assessments.
