Freshman Summer Program The Freshman Summer Program (FSP) is designed to offer underrepresented students the chance to acclimate to UK, become familiar with campus, and make friends with other new students. They will have the opportunity to earn college credit and participate in workshops that will enhance their college experiences. Applications are available for admitted students and must be submitted prior to March 4, 2013. Some fees are covered by the program and some fees will be covered by the student. UK Marching Band Auditions Marching Band at UK is a one-credit hour class that requires no extra sectionals or rehearsals. Wildcat Marching Band represents nearly every academic major on campus and is the largest student organization at the University of Kentucky, while also boasting one of the highest GPAs for organizations on campus. If your students are interested in auditioning, please direct them to schedule an audition for the summer with Scott Lee Atchison, the Director of the Marching Band.

National Merit/Achievement Finalists: Patterson Scholarship National Merit or Achievement Finalists who designate UK as their college choice with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by mid-April will be awarded the Patterson Scholarship, which will combine with the $2,000 award offered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. It is a four-year renewable scholarship which includes full tuition, basic room and board allowance, $1,000 yearly stipend, an iPad, and $2,000 for a Summer Education Abroad program.

Deadline to have high school transcript and test scores on file for automatic academic scholarships. To qualify, students must have at least a 3.3 unweighted high school GPA and a 26 ACT or 1170 SAT (math and critical reading).
Deadline to submit an application for a Living Learning Program, which offers students a ‘home within a home’ at UK. There are several communities to choose from.
Deadline to submit an application for housing, which is first come, first served. Assignments will be mailed out during the summer. Students who apply for a Living Learning Program must also fill out a housing application.
Deadline to register for a summer advising conference, where students will meet other incoming freshmen, attend interest sessions of their choosing, get acclimated to Lexington, and register for their first semester of classes at UK.
Students are permitted to bring their cars to UK. May 1 is the first date students can apply for permits, which are first-come, first-served.

The UK College of Design offers an intensive-two week program for high school rising juniors and seniors, as well as rising college freshmen who will be attending UK. The program explores many facets of design education.
The UK College of Nursing is a selective college. They offer 90-minute information sessions for prospective students. Each session begins at 1:00pm and students are urged to set up a general campus tour in the morning by calling (859) 2573595.
The UK College of Pharmacy, ranked 5th in the nation, will host its next PharmD Open House on Saturday, March 2nd.

iNet for Student Entrepreneurs iNet, the Innovation Network for Entrepreneurial Thinking, is UK’s new, university-wide entrepreneurship program for undergraduate students
https://ci.uky.edu/inet/ Applications Open Soon for UK’s Entrepreneurship Summer Camp: July 23-27 High school students will spend an action-packed week at UK July 23-27 learning to be entrepreneurs during UK’s I-Academy. They will turn their ideas into innovations, learn team building, and form their own companies. Faculty, local entrepreneurs, the iNET Academic Director, and the UK Entrepreneur in Residence work with the teams on the business model canvas and help them prepare to compete before a panel of judges at the end of the week. Students will also take field trips, meet successful local entrepreneurs, and see some of UK’s most innovative and cutting-edge technology programs. All Kentucky high school rising sophomore, junior, senior and graduated seniors are eligible to apply. Space is limited and scholarships are available. New iNET Living Learning Program Available for Student Entrepreneurs The iNET Living Learning Community is looking for first year students who have ideas for new innovations and want to learn how to become entrepreneurs! UK’s newest LLP for the 2013-2014 academic year welcomes students from all majors. iNET LLP students will get real world experience and develop entrepreneurial skills by participating in all of the iNET programs, including UK Venture Challenge, and connecting with a network of entrepreneurial mentors from campus and the local entrepreneurial community. A UK 101 Entrepreneurship class will be offered during fall semester. Students will connect with the iNET Academic Director and the Entrepreneur in Residence and can work toward the Undergraduate Certificate in Entrepreneurial Studies (currently pending University approval).
