At UNT, we’re here to help you through every step of the application and admissions process. We know there’s a lot to do when applying for college, but it’s easy when you PREPARE. APPLY. INVEST. CONNECT.
PREPARE
How do I prepare to successfully apply to UNT?
The earlier, the better. Whether you’re in high school or a transfer student ready to move from where you are to where you want to be, early preparation is always key.
High school students:
• Take the PSAT your junior year. • Take the ACT or SAT early in your senior year. • Submit scores to UNT with your application by the priority date.
Transfer students:
• Gather transcripts from each college you have attended. • Submit your high school transcript and your SAT/ACT scores if you have fewer than 30 credit hours. • Meet with one of our admissions counselors to learn more about how to transfer to UNT.
How do I fund my future at UNT?
1. Your first stop for funding is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) if you’re ineligible for federal aid through the FAFSA. The FAFSA application opens Oct. 1 every year, and requires that you gather all supporting documents before you file. For more information on the TASFA, visit collegeforalltexans.com.
2. Your second stop is applying for scholarships. We offer a wide range of scholarships for all students, majors, classifications and personal qualifications. Learn more about our scholarships and submitting the General Scholarship Application at scholarships.unt.edu.
