INTRODUCTION Project Brief Design Overview

5 of 44

Project Brief Aim towards a more realistic approach to outdoor activities. To unify people, heading out with friends, having a good times and exploring new places. Feeling the unknown and investing time in different activities than one may already be accustomed to. To spur this engagement, Climb Higher is trying to humanize an outdoor brand and encourage everyone to get outside. Most outdoor brands show extravagant outdoor activities that could discourage some people. Climb Higher’s goal is to spark an adventurous dream while still being able to acknowledge sedentary realities most brands create and instead make venturing into the outdoors feel more accessible to beginners.

Design Overview This design should reflect a more modern look to this new outdoorsy store. In the creation of Climb Higher, colors and type to best represent this brand were sought out. stationary design was made to show how the logo would be presented in print with a letterhead, envelope, buisness card, a folder, and a CD case. Along with a wayfinding system to demonstate this brand in stores. For the sinage design an entrance sign is made, a directional and information sign, sale, and sectional signs. And finally UI design for what the Climb Higher website would look like on a tablet and Iphone.

The type face chosen for this logo design is Revelstoke, a tall san serif type face. This type was chosen to stay in theme with the Mountain in the logo design and The goal with this typeface was to use something that would represent the “Higher in the brand name, hence the taller typeface to represent something high off the ground. For the brand identity book the type face used is Lato. The semirounded information on the letters give Lato a feeling of warmth, even though the powerful structure provides stability and seriousness.

Symbol Description

Peak Mountain Green

For the creation of this logo the symbol was meant to represent the outdoors as well as represent the name of the company by chosing a symbol to represent high elevation, a mountain. This goes hand in hand with the name Climb Higher. It relates to nature by the green color choice and nature by using a mountain.
