PROJECT BRIEF The Lady Rebel Basketball team is the women’s basketball team that represents the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Paradise, Nevada. The team currently competes in the Mountain West Conference. Since beginning in 1974, the Lady Rebels have an all-time record of 741–484. The Lady Rebels are currently coached by Las Vegas native, Lindy La Rocque. The mission of the UNLV women’s basketball team is to display their core values on a daily basis, thus developing a strong level of confidence and leadership to achieve the end result: championship basketball. The Core Values include Passion, Work Ethic, Engagement, Professionalism and Competitive Toughness.

DESIGN OVERVIEW Lady Rebel Basketball will have very minimalistic and clean design to simplify everything for its fans, but also use the bold color scheme inspired by the UNLV and Las Vegas community. Lady Rebel Basketball wants to make their fans and community feel connected to the team– as if they’re part of it. The branding will be used across its marketing deliverables and gym location, Cox Pavilion, as well as in its website and a stationary system for business purposes. The logo will include the aspects of Las Vegas and UNLV as its symbol and will use a bold typeface choice that will provide consistency and professionalism to the brand.

The meaning behind using this scarlet/red hue is to represent the aggressivness and athleticness of the Lady Rebel brand.

The meaning behind using this gold hue is to represent professionalism and winning. A less intense color but still bold.

Color Usage Copy #383637 C: 10% M: 10% Y:10% K: 90% Instead of using a plain black text that is too intense compared to the value of the other two colors, this color will be used for body copy if the user can.

The colors can also be translated into accents in any brand collateral that will be made. It is encouraged to use only these colors of the Lady Rebel brand identity.

The typeface used within the Lady Rebel logo is Futura PT (Extra Bold Oblique). The logo specifically only uses the style because it represents movement. The Futura PT typeface successfully represents the Lady Rebel brand because of its many weights, readablility, and modern forms.

The Lady Rebels logo is an important and valued graphic element and must be used consistently and appropriately, even minor variations will undermine and compromise the image of the branding. The secondary logo should be used for audiences already familiar with the Lady Rebel brand. Use of the primary ogo is always preferred unless the space allowed for a logo whose width is smaller than the minimum size of 1/2 inch in height.

LOGO RESTRICTIONS The logo has become distorted from it’s designed aspect ratio, therefore stretching or squshing the shape and text. If the space is restrictive, the scale of the logo (not the dimensions) must be adjusted to fit.

Important elements within the logo have been distorted, enlarged or shrunk, affecting the balance and design. A consistent layout is essential across all media, and by changing key elements it will introduce confusion into the Lady Rebel brand.

The backdrop for the logo’s placement clashes with the primary logo color - it lacks visibilty and contrast. To fix this problem, you can either select a contrasting base color, or switch to one of the secondary logos.

A color outside of the Lady Rebel brand color scheme has been used. This is not allowed as it confuses the brand image.
