Rain or shine, the show must go on. In spite of the rainy weather, SHS Students Affair Organization’s (SAO) Rhapsody Night climaxed this year’s University Week as they filled the SHS Quadrangle with beats of music and the all too familiar foam, September 13. The Rhapsody Night was composed of the Battle of the Bands followed by the Foam Party. “Actually ang Rhapsody garepresent sang

the Bands kickstarted the program with ten groups performing their own rendition of their chosen songs. The Foam Party proceeded afterwards with guest DJ Christian San

Juan of CS1 Pro Audio Lights and Sounds whose bass and beats made the students groove and jive. “I am super proud. I feel one of a kind and I’m enjoying this event. Kudos to UNO-R,” said San Juan.

Parokya Ni Kaloy is composed of Emmanuel Clavecillas of SEM-03 for the rhythm, Carl Brian Rumbines of SEM04 as the lead guitarist, Armhille John Boboli of SEM-05 as bass guitarist, Diane Pagaran of SEM04 as the lead vocalist and Justin John Octaviano of SEM-05 as the drummer. “We never expect our band to win because after the performance we knew that we had some mistakes but we just continued anyways,” said Justin John Octaviano, drummer of the band.

Highlighting the band’s presentation, they sang their winning songs “Teenagers” and Parokya ni Edgar’s “Picha-pie,” that made the audience jump to the beat and crowd the quadrangle spaces in spite of the heavy rain. Completing the winners roll, ALPAS and Down By V (Five) Band followed as 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively, while Sundae band clinched the People’s Choice Award. The event was then followed by the foam party.
