History & Legacy of Dr. Carmen Thomas, grew up in Albion, Michigans projects for the 1st 10 years of her life She is the oldest of four siblings with her single mom and grandparents who inspired her to believe all things are possible. Carmen’s mom decided to believe for greater and built a home in Albion as a divorced single mom when she was 12 years old with the support of her parents and other relatives

1st Black Woman to start a Women’s Business Start Up & Biz Accelerator, Transformation Gems, a 501c3 (Gifted Entrepreneurs with Millionaire Status) in Lansing, MI in 2018. Survived the pandemic without closing physical office.
Transformation GEMS has provided resources and support to over 100 women since 2019 with a goal to impact 1000 women and families by 2030.

Dr. Carmen Thomas was blessed with an opportunity to become the 1st to be the Chief Government Relations Officer for MPHI in 2019 serving government and public health.
Founder of Unstoppable Women’s Empire, an online Women’s Empowerment Membership.
Dr. Carmen had an opportunity in 1998 to transform a bankrupt multimillion dollar apartment complex into a lucrative, profitable property that sold in 7 years to a professional NBA player.
Dr. Carmen Thomas was the 1st Black Woman Ambassador to be selected to support Executive Leader John Nixon who was Director of DTMB Real Estate Division in 2012/2013. Where she managed Real Estate Leases for State of Michigan.
My strong desire to sing started at the age of 8 and stems from watching and admiring Diana Ross on television and decided that I wanted to sing and dress like the great Diana Ross. At age 18, I changed the “N” in my name from Lanette to LaNette because I thought it would look better in lights. For years now, I have been building my portable vision board (3ring binder) with dreams, goals, and aspirations
In 2018 while on a vacation with friends, I mentioned the reoccurring dream of singing on the stage at Carnegie Hall in a gold gown. One of our friends says, "Start looking for your gown You don't prepare for rain without an umbrella, right?" One Saturday in August while looking for the gold gown in my dream, I submitted my "Favor" music video to DCINY (Distinguised Concerts International - New York) for a potential opportunity to sing at Carneige Hall The following week, I was contacted by DCINY to set up a conference call to discuss the possibility. Within four days, I received an email of congratulations for being selected to sing at Robert Ray's Gospel Mass at Carnegie Hall with DCINY On June 9, 2019, I was in New York with 37 family and friends that came to support my dream becoming a reality
Five days after the concert, I received another email that said, "DCINY Alumni! You can now be a part of DCINY events without auditioning " (Look at GOD!) Though I wasn't able to sing in my gold gown, my dream of singing on the Carnegie Hall stage became a reality The fact that I wasn't able to sing in my gold gown says to me that either I will be invited back or there will be a similar or even greater opportunity!
With GOD, ALL things are possible! I am a firm believer that dreams do come true! Just have faith in God, the gifts He's given you, and work hard until they manifest in your life! You are never too old to realize and enjoy your dreams

When my business coach asked me "What do you do?", I hesitated Perhaps because my role as an author is new and unfamiliar She asked me if perhaps I did not believe my calling to write is a high, noble and worthy cause. (That's definitely not the case) I realized that I needed to ask myself a second question: BECAUSE writing is such a high calling, do I feel worthy of it? Friends, if you lack clarity answering either of these questions for yourself, I implore you - get this fixed immediately. If you are not embracing both of these mindsets (Your biz is a worthy cause AND you are worthy of it), you risk self-sabotaging, confusion, and playing small If God called you to it, He will see you through it! Who you believe you are determines the doors that will open for you, and the people who will be attracted to you.

Coire Luckett was a teen mom who needed assistance and learned a lot of things on her own through trial and error Coire wanted to provide resources to families who have dealt with similar issues to avoid making similar mistakes.

I never set out to be a children’s author, but I ended up drafting the book I needed as a child. The Itchy Secret centers on a strong, brave lion named Lou, who experienced trauma, and was told not to tell. The book follows Lou on his post traumatic journey. I tried to use multiple tactics to help children understand the emotions that they may be going through without naming them An itch is something much easier to understand for a child; it is uncomfortable, and you must scratch it
to get rid of it Anxiety, guilt, shame, anger and depression are only some of the feelings survivors of trauma feel. I tried to address these emotions in the story in a way that children could recognize them if they too, were feeling them. The story leads the reader to keep asking “What do I do? What do I say?” while on a quest to find a trusted adult to tell the ‘Itchy Secret’ to
Lou’s specific trauma is never disclosed. Most adult readers have shared that they have recognized their own childhood traumas when reading this book.
My personal healing journey inspired the idea of Lou The thought of a brave, strong lion struggling to deal with the weight of his emotions lets kids know that even the strongest can struggle, and they are not alone. Decades after my childhood trauma, I finally grew the courage to talk about my ‘Itchy Secret’ with law enforcement. I realized that it wasn’t obvious to me as a child to trust an adult I kept quiet and told other children, and again later to other teens This approach was ineffective and those I told were not equipped to provide help. My book was created to empower children to tell their ‘Itchy Secrets’ to a trusted adult. This story is a prescription for those who come after me who are survivors of something, whether it be something they witnessed or something they experienced themselves; to do something about it and be empowered with the knowledge to know what to do. It starts by telling someone you trust.
