hen I took the reigns as Editor of Unveiled at the start of this issue, it was already the premium bridal magazine for the North. Targeted from its inception at the discerning, luxury bride (that’s you, dear reader), Unveiled is glossier and more gorgeous than the rest. A true coffee table tome, it’s always been the best looking. My brief? To give this beauty some heart and soul. As a result, Issue #04 is absolutely bursting with ideas for your wedding day, so much so that we had to make it almost double its original size! In addition to our striking cover image, within these pages you’ll find no less than five unique editorial shoots showing off the delicious wedding dresses and details that the big name bridal labels and stylists have in store for you this season. Reigning princess of pretty, designer Charlotte Balbier shares her inspirations in our Designer Interview and cutting edge own label couturier Charlie Brear has the last word in our new Style Statement feature. We also go behind the scenes at Unveiled’s favourite bridal boutiques, take some honeymoon tips from nomadic newly-weds 2People1Life and do some exploring of our own to unveil the very best luxury locations and hotspots for getting hitched in our Venues section. Watch out for some special guest appearances throughout Issue #04; not least from the seven real life couples who
chose to share their own stunning wedding days with Unveiled; a sneak peek at international designer Ian Stuart’s brand new collection and a look into Rock My Wedding super blogger Charlotte O’Shea’s stylish world. As is ever the case, this magazine could only be as good as the people who made it, and I’m proud and grateful to have worked alongside some seriously talented wedding industry professionals to craft this beautiful issue together. From photographers to cake designers, florists to beauty specialists, Unveiled features only the very finest suppliers for your wedding day. In his last issue as Editor, my publisher and friend Craig Maddison called me his “dream editor”, and now’s my chance to return the compliment. Unveiled is, to me, the dream bridal product to work on: unique, inspiring, cutting edge and insanely beautiful. I hope that my involvement has made it even dreamier still. Enjoy!
Julia Braime Julia Braime Editor in Chief p.s. We are proud that Unveiled is now stocked at WHSmith, in hundreds of independent retailers and distributed at the very best wedding fairs across the North. Whether you picked up your copy in the newsagents, at a bridal event or during a visit to one of our venue partners, we hope that you love every page of Issue #04.

show-off skirts Skirts for next season are both oversize and double the volume, or deliberately slit or sheer to show off a lot of leg. The over-skirt leads the way in the drama stakes in thick satin or starchy tulle, or beautifully tiered gowns add romantic texture. Thigh high slits compete against microminis (at higher heights than ever before) and translucent lengths for the look with the most impact on the aisle.

Rather than overpowering whimsy, this is a modern romance, with laser cut applique petals making bold statements, or intricately beaded bohemian blooms adding the subtlest of pretty details. OUR EDITOR, JULIA BRAIME - A PERMANENT FIXTURE ON THE FRONT ROW AT WORLDWIDE BRIDAL FASHION WEEKS UNVEILS THE STANDOUT STYLES THAT YOU’LL BE WEARING TO WED IN 2016. This spring’s collections, from London to New York and Barcelona, felt fresh and innovative, whilst being essentially wearable and especially beautiful. The mood on the catwalks was all about movement, with swishy skirts and soft, fine fabrics taking centre stage. Fluid silhouettes and feminine detailing were the common point across the collections, as the leading designers gave us wedding dresses made for dancing with joy. The mood was raw and real beauty: these are gowns with personality, made to be worn and enjoyed by the modern woman on her wedding day.
a fine flutter Where flowers led, feathers were close behind, from floor length feather skirts (upping the swish-factor) to just a dusting of flutter around hemlines and waistlines.

Design gets daring in 2016 with full-on illusion bodices – sheer with discreetly placed lace appliques or nude linings – becoming commonplace on the catwalks, designed to show off intricate lacework and enhance every sensational curve.
