All USD students complete a liberal arts core curriculum in conjunction with their major and/or minor. Comprised of about 14 courses, this curriculum provides a well-rounded understanding of mathematics, science, literature, art, history, language, philosophy, theology and various social awareness issues. When combined with the small classes, personalized advising and undergraduate research opportunities that define a USD education, students are prepared to think innovatively, analyze critically and communicate effectively across academic disciplines and professional fields.

Application Requirements: • Completed Common Application • Official transcripts from all secondary schools and colleges/universities attended and/or exam results (transcripts must be translated into English) • One academic letter of recommendation • Essay • Official Midyear Report (for transfer applicants only) • Official TOEFL iBT: 80 minimum score • Official IELTS: 6.5 min (for applicants whose native language is not English) • Official SAT/ACT scores (required only for first-year applicants who would like to be considered for a merit scholarship) • $55 application fee

USD Pathway Program The USD Pathway Program offers academically prepared international students with the opportunity to become full-time, degree-seeking USD students through completion of an English language and college readiness curriculum­. If the Office of Undergraduate Admissions determines that you may be in need of strengthening select skills prior to beginning your undergraduate studies at USD, you may be admitted conditionally by way of the Pathway Program. www.sandiego.edu/pathway
