Forlorn Hope

Marianna Russell

Hallucinating an onion into a sculpture and a zested lemon into a renaissance painting. Isolated, idolising the little things that I’m eco-conscious about in my student household during England’s second Lockdown. Boredom forces one to become playful with the mundane in times like these. Much alike the Forlorn Hope soldiers, normal people are put in a hazardous position with an apparent pessimism caused by a rolling death toll.

Alone in England’s third Lockdown, I moved into a house with no heating.
