What is an offer holder day? Exclusive to those who have received an offer to study with us, offer holder days are your opportunity to experience life as a University of Gloucestershire student and explore your course in greater depth. Most importantly, this is an opportunity to find out if we’re the right university for you.

FAQs I have already attended an open day should I go to an offer holder day too? Yes, this is your chance to find out what it would really be like to study your course so they’re worth attending. At an open day you would have attended a course talk, but at an offer holder day we’ll go into more detail about your course and you’ll get involved in interactive sessions to get a real feel for studying with us. Can I bring guests? Yes, you can bring two guests and there will be a Q&A session specifically for them. If you would like to bring more guests please let us know in advance. What time does the day start and finish? Where should I go on arrival? The day runs between 10am – 4pm. Please check-in at Park Campus reception where there’ll be student ambassadors to welcome you. Do I need to bring anything? You don’t need to bring anything, other than enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. What parking arrangements are available? We’ll email you a parking permit before the day which you’ll need to print and use for parking on campus; remember to bring it with you on the day. How do I reach the campus by bus or train? Train: The closest train station is Cheltenham Spa, which is a 20 minute walk from Park Campus. You can get 20% off return advance purchase tickets for your journey to Cheltenham through GWR. Bus: You can catch a National Express bus to Cheltenham from most cities. Visit nationalexpress.com. Locally, you can hop on the 94U from Cheltenham town centre, which stops right outside the campus. Will I be able to look around the university accommodation? As well as our on-campus accommodation, you’ll also have the opportunity to view our Pittville Student Village which features 800 en-suite studios and one-bed flats, shared en-suite flats, and shared townhouses with shared bathrooms. Plus, there’s a student bar, gym, refectory, laundry room and faith space. Is food provided? Refreshments are provided on arrival and you will receive a complimentary lunch. Engineering taster session Use our cutting-edge technology to learn the basics of pneumatic control, electro-pneumatic and simulated circuits and explore PLC programming.

Hands-on experiment session Explore electronics and control systems and understand electronic circuit behaviour whilst getting hands-on project design experience using our state-of-the-art equipment.

Surrounded by picturesque parkland, Park Campus is a technological and creative hub where media, design and technology students create and collaborate in cutting-edge facilities. Investment in our engineering facilities at Park Campus has provided brand new labs, complete with the very latest industry standard equipment. This will give you the opportunity to carry out hands-on experiments in both electrical and mechanical engineering. Meanwhile, our Computing and Technology Suite includes cyber security labs which have a virtualised infrastructure designed specifically to launch different cyber-attacks in a safe environment. We also have a dedicated Cisco Network Lab for real-world network security testing using Cisco equipment

Meet our lecturers “I have many years’ experience of academic teaching, research and management – this includes leading research groups and managing people nationally and internationally. “We use a variety of different teaching styles and learning activities, depending on the type of module and the learner group. All our engineering technologies courses have been designed with a strong industryfocus and developed with the involvement of employers. Our students have opportunities to practice their skills and expand their knowledge through placements with local companies such as ABB, MOOG, SC Group, Spirax Sarco, Dowty Propellers and Kohler Mira.

Our commitment to STEM The UK needs more graduates that are highly skilled across the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) to help drive economic growth. At the University of Gloucestershire, we are committed to providing a range of unique opportunities for students to study STEM subjects at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels. Professional accreditation All our programmes have been designed to be accredited by the Engineering Council, through the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), and/or the Energy Institute. Our close links with the Engineering Council are helping us to ensure that learners completing level 7 study are able to achieve chartered status.

Research High-quality and ground-breaking research is at the heart of what we do. Current PhD students are undertaking research in a diverse range of areas, including projects related to the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and electrical vehicles. We recently received Ministry of Defence funding to undertake a research project of global importance, mapping EEG markers to aspects of human situational awareness and bias.
