Our student-led projects are run by students for the benefit of others, and you can get involved in any of the below or start your own. B-EAT B-EAT is a self-help group for people suffering with eating disorders. We support attendees and help them to meet people suffering from similar struggles, while also welcoming friends and family of those affected. Volunteering The Student Volunteer Centre, (SVC) based in Portland Building on the University Park Campus, has a huge amount of opportunities available for you to get involved in. There are over 100 ongoing projects available with various levels of commitment, whether you want to volunteer for just a month or up to two years. You can also take part in micro and one-off volunteering projects, which are easy opportunities to get a taster of what volunteering is like and get a quick fix of feel-good vibes. 3

Our projects support charities ranging from smaller, local causes including community centres and schools, to large, well-known national organisations such as Childline and Oxfam. To see a full list, visit the ‘ongoing projects’ volunteering section of the Students’ Union Website

Cd & Record Library The CD Library has a massive collection of CDs, any of which you can borrow for just 50p a piece. We pride ourselves on our eclectic collection, so alongside the latest pop releases and classic punk albums, you’ll find a great diversity of music, from folk to footwork and from dub to doom metal – not to mention sacred harp singing, Haitian street music, Chilean psych and 70s Iranian pop.
