EDITORS NOTE Calling has many definitions and people get called for different purposes. It is, to somerealization of one’s purpose in the world. As we know, most of the people we consider to be called are spiritual healers and that is entirely true, yet we tend to forget that there are quite a variety of healings that different people from different walks of life can give spiritually. Today I would like to raise an awareness of the kind of spiritual healing which can be given to the fittest and the healthiest of the patients and that is a kind of healing which occurs in the process of one having a spiritual impact through the power of art even just a talk.
This healing takes place at a time when even one feels complete, or believes they’ve got it all together then bang! Something clicks in their ear and they realize that this is exactly what I’ve been lacking in my head. It also does heal someone to see one embracing their body in a form of posture even catwalk, with regards to modeling. By so saying, I had a good time chatting with a variety of spiritual healers ranging from a life and business coach, musicians and models and I hope you enjoy a reading this issue of Up Coming Mag. Yours with love

One of his entrepreneurial activities include life and business coaching which he performs through Sage Institute, an organization he founded with the skills he acquired from Ross Business Solutions, Vaal University of Technology, Atvance Academy, Seda as well as an internationally recognized Shaw Academy- on wisdom grounds with an aim to share his extra-ordinary knowledge and ideas or rather perspective regarding a lot of matters and situations specifically in life as well as in business. With a couple of radio interviews and a handful of happy clients even stakeholders or rather business partners, Mr Sage may be a young adult but he has transformed the lives of many from all ages and walks of life through his wisdom.
MR SAGE Artist, Pretoria UPCOMING MAG | 4
INTERVIEW Q : Please tell us who exactly is Mr Sage? A : My name is Morapedi Elvis Choma also known as Mr Sage. I’m a curious entrepreneur, a wise- also noble Life and Business Coach. Mr Sage is the founder of a greatest foundation of coaching and a marketing company (Sage Institute). Mr Sage believed in building a foundation for every venture and for every new frontier. Sage Institute was built on a background of entrepreneur start up, Marketing and Psychology Programme in which Mr Sage was involved over the years. Mr Sage is also a co-founder and a secretary general of AB Mavundla Foundation NPO, Hide Needs Show Ability NGO and CDMKM traders (Pty) Ltd. All focused on Empowerment, Event coordination, Marketing, Life Coaching and Business Coaching. Q : So please tell me what inspired you to go by the name of Mr Sage.
Q : Well Mr Sage you're a young man with huge visions, what actually drives you and what distinguishes you from your peers? A : For a Chess Player from a young age Mr Sage has always had questions and ideals when things were posed to him. From a young age I've always challenged people and asked critical or if you like potent questions just for the sake of clarity. Growing up with that mindset abruptly built perspective for me and a lot of human capacity understanding. I fell in love with helping people and sharing knowledge everywhere I am. When my peers would party and do drugs I would read books. Just to build perspective and find a way to help other with what I know. Q : That's very interesting. So what are your biggest visions and goals for Sage Institute? A : My Biggest objective for Sage Institute is to build the largest Stop Shop for Coaching from Life's Spectrum and Business Canvas for individuals, small and medium businesses in the country and the world.
A : Sage institute a company found on wisdom grounds was formed with the aim of sharing knowledge but specific to life and business. Sage means; "A man of gravity, a stoic Philosopher and wise gentleman; noble and one with a sound judgement- A friend of mine and myself found out that the founder and discoverer of marketing is Sir Peter Drucker who then resembles my character and persona. He was awarded the name Sage for his disposition which we saw fitting for me to use also. UPCOMING MAG | 5
Q
&A
INTERVIEW Q : What have you accomplished so far that serves as an indication that you are moving closer towards that goal? A : Interesting. I believe in "Life is what you make of it and one life can only shrink or expand in proportion to one's courage". Therefore Sage has erupted a space where schools, businesses events coordinators invite us to share fundamental coaching concepts with them and I have managed to cliche different partnerships with small and well-known movers and shakers. I have hosted radio sessions and interviews in different radio stations around Vaal and in Johanesburg namely; Sedibeng FM, Karabo FM and Voices Of Wits (VOW). We have coordinated small and biggest events and Sage Institute has given birth to organizations and non-profit organizations. Q : Awesome... Mr Sage, without any means to offend you- I think you're still too young and should be seeking guidance from your parents yet here you are changing lives and contributing in the positive change of the world and business. By so saying I think you are one of a kind and quite an unpredictable man. So please tell me, now that you seem to be so full of surprises, what else can we expect to learn about you in the near future-any projects that you're working on? INTERVIEWED BY LIEKETSENG LECHEKO
UPCOMING MAG | 6
A : Sage institute is in partnership with records companies, empowerment-organizations and local brands. Therefore I'm looking to create a platform where young creative minds like me dine and network through Conversation with Sage on YouTube soon premiere. We are looking to open a segment of managing young artists and create a path way for them to the mainstream market. And we are also looking to take Sage institute to domestic provinces and countries around Africa. It is possible and we will get there.
Q : Very big plan that is hey... So what is that one statement - sort of a quote which you wish that everyone lived with every minute of every hour of every day? A : "YOU MAY HAVE A DISADVANTAGED BACKROUND BUT NOT A DISADVANTAGED BRAIN! DEMAND MORE FROM YOURSELF AND DON'T ACCEPT MEDIOCRITY, YOU'RE WORTHY. IF OTHERS MANAGED TO GET IT, FIND YOUR WAY TOO.” You take this advice remember; the Sage way is the safe way.

KENNY STOANZ ARTIST
36 years old Thabang Kenneth Majoe is a Kwaito musician who goes by the name of Kenny Stoanz. Born in Zamdela Free State province, this singer, song writer and performing artist has always had love for music from the day that he was exposed to it and how he knew that when he grows up he’s going to be a musician. Kenny Stoanz started his music career as a member of a group called Lapeng Jazz Band in 2009 and through that he’s shared the stage with the big names such as Ringo, Bongo Muffin, Mafikizolo and Malaika-to name but a few…
UPCOMING MAG | 8
Q : Please tell me about Kenny Stoanz
Q : What inspired you to go for music as a career?
A : Kenny Stoanz is an upcoming musician who grew up in the streets of Zamdela Sasolburg. He loves music and he has always been into music all his life. He is a singer, song writer and a performing artist, and does a variety of music genres ranging from Afro-pop, R&B, Kwaito/House even Afro-beat.
A :It all started in high-school where I used to take part in a choir, performances during beauty contests. Back in the days I used to listen to groups like Boom Shaka, Bongo Maffin, Mafikizolo & Joe Nina… that's when the love for music started. It was back in 1997 until now- I am still into music. It's all about the love for music, I would not do anything except passing on an impact it had on me. As I used to watch music shows on TV screens, the passion for music kept on growing in me, that's when I realized that this thing is for me. I also used to dance.
Q : In your journey, what challenges have you encountered and what have you learned from those challenges? A : When one has decided that he/she wants to go for music, believe you me, is not a smooth journey trust me on that one. There comes a time when you get to be involved with producers who will help you with your music but never finish your projects. And again there are so many things that are happening in the music industry, all the artists want to breakinto the music industry, it's all about the right timing and the right people. I've learned to be patient and keep on pushing no matter what the outcomes will be at that time. Money… money- to be honest, you need to have a budget for music. And again when it comes to gigs you're been forced to join some of organizations or particular political party in order for you to be part of a certain events. It's tough! That's why as artist we need to have our own PR/Managers/and again they need to be paid.
Q : I see... So please tell me what is your biggest vision in your music career? A : My biggest vision is for my music to impact people’s lives, to have my own recording studio, to grow more in music and to go globally. But first it needs to start here at home and to develop young and upcoming artist from Zamdela. Q : What has been your greatest achievement in the music industry and how has that impacted your career? A : It was when I first released my album last year, "Blessed”. The response I received from the people who are following me, they have been there since day one.
INTERVIEW
INTERVIEWED BY LIEKETSENG LECHEKO
UPCOMING MAG | 9
THE INTERVIEW CONTINUES Q : What inspirational quote has kept you moving forward in your career from the beginning ‘til now? A : Believe in what you do no matter who says what, whether they say there's no money in music or you're not signed to a certain recording label, press-a/ push-a/ phanda and don't ever give up. Our journey is not the same
A : Back then I was a part of the group 'Lapeng Jazz Band' and we used to open for big artists- it was around 2009/10. It was a learning curve for me indeed, behind the stage we would hang out with them and they would channel us upcoming musicians and guide us. Mr Ringo once told me that in music, “Ntho ya hao o tlameha o e emele.” Your time will come.
Q : Your message to the aspiring artists out there..?
Q : Who is your biggest inspiration and why that particular person?
A : Never give up on your dreams. Dreams do come true. God's timing is perfect.
A : I don't have a specific person but I have people... Boom Shaka, Bongo Maffin and Mafikizolo. We now have Amapiano blazing, we still have hip-hop, but groups like Mafikizolo are still rocking and content with their music. They are real artists/musiciansthey don't go with what is trending now, but they go for what they believe in and their fans or followers they still supporting them.
Q : You've shared the stage with the big names like Mafikizolo, Malaika, Bongo Maffin even Ringo and many others, can you share your experience? INTERVIEWED BY LIEKETSENG LECHEKO

AFRO KAII
ARTIST
Shaka Sedgwick Magwedze from Elim waterval Limpopo is a 21 year Venda prodigy, born in January, who has had interest in music since a young age. He’s a producer and songwriterwritten many songs from high school to this day which are not yet recorded. He says now he realizes it was more of a learning curve. I started rapping in primary school back in 2009 and now I'm an aspiring musician, producer and engineer. Most of his previous releases have been taken off the internet solely by himself because he still felt that he needed more time to evolve into what he is now. The first genres he listened to were Reggae, RnB and Hip Hop which he’s now added many others to the list.

INTERVIEW
Q : What inspired your name, Afro Kaii? A : I got inspired by my heritage and belief. Afro stands for African and Kaii which means God was based on my belief of African ancestry. Q : And what inspired you to go into music amongst all careers in the entertainment industry? A : I got inspired by music because of my background with my father loving reggae and my grandmother who used to sing, song write and conduct choirs. It was fueled even more when I realized I could dance so music felt right, I didn't have any interest in others Q : What is your biggest goal in music? A : My biggest goal in music is liberating as many of my people as possible and giving the world my version of music and style Q
: Who is your biggest inspiration?
A : That would have to be my mother.
UPCOMING MAG | 13
Q : What challenges have you encountered in your career and what have you learned from those challenges? A : My biggest challenge would be finding a sweat spot for the type of sound I was trying to create or do. I would be contradicted by different types of styles and finding my sound though all of that. And I learnt that if you break down the specific qualities you like in other music, you can actually piece them together to what you like and that was a major help. Another one was my identity, I was confused on what type of image I wanted for myself, and I realized that I didn't want to be just a rapper, I found comfort in having an image that's not based off of one thing. Q : And what has been your greatest achievement so far? A : My greatest achievement would be my break through. I haven't released in years because I was still figuring out my image and my music's image so that has been a major setback until now. I N T E R V I E W E D B Y

INTERVIEW This interview can be viewed on youtube here: https://youtu.be/cyf9PossAC4 Q : Can you please tell us about your modelling journey?
A : Not being able to participate in Miss Soweto because in order to enter the competition you need to experience and you need to show them evidence that you have entered pageants before, if you do not have that evidence they do not allow you to enter Miss Soweto.
A : I started modelling in primary to high school. I used to take pictures and post them on Instagram Facebook and then this other day this guy from New Britain prior approached me and asked me to be his model. From there were two pitchers- he introduced me to different people and then I ended up where I am now and then I met a couple of photographers and I left new breed then I started being a nude model and a fashion model until I got here.
Q : Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? A : I see myself successful, driving a BMW, just joking, I see myself being Miss Universe, having a great job, without a husband… I just want to see myself succeeding in life, and starting my own Agency.
Q : What challenges have you come across in your modelling journey and how did you overcome them? A : Not getting enough support because it impacts my creativity and confidence, if you have support you gain emotional strength and confidence- you get to see that people notice what you do. Family support is important, because you can have a dream but without their support it becomes challenging to achieve goals.
Q : They say confidence is built how did you build your confidence? A : By cutting negative self-talk picking up new skills asking questions having fun and being free you know when you free, you just need to be free to have confidence.
Q : What was your biggest failure throughout your modelling career?
UPCOMING MAG | 43
Q : How do you keep in shape? A : With a hunger strike, twice a month, for two weeks, exercise, avoid food, AVOID FOOD!
Q : as you know that you grew up in a family of morals and values how did that have any impact on you as a model? A : it shows in your personality, you communicate with different people with respect, you can handle different kind of people, it molds you into becoming a better person and you have values as a person.

Q
: what is beauty to you or can you
give us your definition of beauty? A
: how I define beauty is how you feel
inside you, you can expect people to bring you down. if you do not have that self-thing that I am
beautiful
more
than
anyone
in
the
world
and no one can bring me down. Beauty is not about makeup or your skin, it is about how you feel

you
