NSP O2 RACE FSL

During the Costa Blanca SUP Challenge event, taking advantage of the SUP Village, I had the possibility of different models of SUP boards, both inflatable and rigid. On this occasion, I describe the excellent sensations that the NSP O2 Race FSL inflatable board gave me; and more precisely the 14’0 “x 27” model. I remind you, that this inflatable board was the one that obtained many medals during the ICf World Championship in Hungary, and this made me want to try it with more motivation.

As soon as you take it and carry it to the water, you feel its comfort and very good weight distribution. The handle is amazing! At first, I was struck by its beautiful design and shape, undoubtedly the right one to fulfil its objective, which is to be a real inflatable SUP Race board. I remind you that this brand now has one of the best ranges of carbon race boards on the market. The Molokai, Sonic, Puma and Carolina are sweeping national and international events; with which its designers know perfectly how to spin also when developing their inflatable boards.

Great sensations from the first paddling. In flat conditions it slides in an incredible way, its nose and slight rocker make it not slow down and break the water very well to the sides. In general, the narrower an inflatable board is, the more nervous and sensitive it is. In this case and with its 27 “, these characteristics have been conspicuous by their absence, becoming a very stable board.

Paddling in conditions somewhat more moved by the wind and waves, the board responds very well. It fits perfectly in all conditions and has blown me away on downwind. It glides perfectly and that is when the distribution of weights within the board is very noticeable. I imagine how well it must go with waves or in a beach race!

I knew that this model had been reduced by approximately 1.5kg by removing fibres per square meter, but what I did not expect is that it would be very rigid and feel less rebound than on other inflatable boards. There is some great design work here. And all these nuances make it a true race board and that the rider can achieve great goals.

And one of the things that I have loved is its Air7 V3 fin system. You can assemble and disassemble it, and this makes it much easier when it comes to rolling it up and storing it. When it comes to sailing, you don’t feel any kind of resistance and the keel hooks perfectly. That is one more feature that makes the difference compared to other models of inflatable boards.

Of course, it comes with a comfortable backpack to store it and with many accessories for you to enjoy a great inflatable SUP Race board. Great job from NSP, and if you are looking for a table with these characteristics, I recommend it 100%.
