Judges Course
On Saturday, September 25, taking advantage of the celebration of the Spanish Long Distance Championship, a very important event took place for all federated athletes who practise and compete in Paddle Surf, as the Spanish Surf Federation gave a course for Sup Race Judges.

The dynamics of the course was directed by Daniel Parres, and he gave us a great vision of the updated regulations and of how to face the organization of an official competition with his team of judges recognized by the FESS.
The news itself, may not be important, we have always taken our paddle wielding the Fair Play and into the water...That is over, take a look at any federated sport in which it competes and you will see how delayed we have been so far.
In Judo, for example, two competitors, on a 10 by 10 meter mat, are refereed by three judges, plus two timekeepers and supervised from outside by an arbitration commission. I could tell you about other sports, think about table tennis, handball, basketball...but surely the judges are always a fundamental and mandatory part of every sporting event.
Our place is the water, there are kilometres, turns, buoys, drafting, different categories running at the same time, boards of different sizes and materials, port and marine authorities, landmarks on arrival, toilets, awards ceremony...AND ALL THIS it has always remained in the good work of the organizer of the event.
This course aims to put this sport at the level it deserves, paying attention to the regulations and of course, responding to those claims that may affect the outcome of a race.
We hope to be useful (we the judges) and that the FESS counts on us, whenever the occasion requires it.
