BLUE KNIGHT HEAD COACH NICK ROBERTS Nick Roberts, a native of Knutsford, England, and a 1994 graduate of Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa. has been at the helm of the Urbana University men's program since the 2008 season. Roberts has experience playing and coaching soccer at a multitude of levels.

Complex board of directors, which was the driving force in raising $1.5 million to build a new soccer complex for Santa Rosa United. He continues to coach in the youth arena in Columbus with the Classic Eagles Soccer Club. His U-17 boys' team won the State Championship in May of 2012.

"Coach Roberts provides a wealth of experiences in recruiting from our area, as well as a lifetime of soccer knowledge," said Urbana University Director of Athletics Doug Young. "He has the type of exuberance for the game and our program that our student-athletes need."

From 1994-1997 Roberts was a player/head coach in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) for Columbus USL Professional team posting a 27-15-2 record. He was named to the USL National All-Star team as a coach in 1996.

Roberts has also coached at the highest level of soccer, serving a four-year appointment (1997-2001) as an assistant coach and head scout for The Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer (MLS). During his tenure, The Crew was twice East Coast Conference finalists. They were also a finalist at the U.S. Open Cup.

He has an extensive playing background as well. Mercyhurst College (NCAA D-II) Roberts came to Urbana from Wittenberg University, where he was an assistant coach for the men's soccer program from 20062008. During the 2007 season, the Tigers were consistently ranked in the top 25 in the nation in NCAA D-III. He has been actively involved with coaching youth, ODP and club teams in Ohio and California since 1994. From 2002-2006, Roberts was the director of coaching and player development for Santa Rosa United, a 40-team youth soccer club in Santa Rosa, California. SRU won two national titles under the direction of Roberts, a feat the organization had never accomplished before. He also served on the Santa Rosa board of directors, and the Sonoma Soccer

GRADUATE ASSISTANT RHYS CANNELLA Email: rcannella@urbana.edu Phone: (937) 561-3352 Rhys Cannella joined the Blue Knight coaching staff in the summer of 2011 as a graduate assistant. In his first season with the program, Urbana improved its win total and scored a 10 road victory over previously undefeated and 5th ranked Mercyhurst College. Cannella comes to Urbana from Tiffin University, where he earned NCAA Division II First Team All-American honors as a player. Cannella received his undergraduate degree in sports management from Tiffin this past spring. Originally from Luton, England, Rhys is the son of Karen and Luigi Cannella. He has 2 younger brothers, Francesco and Fabio, and a younger sister, Danika.

VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT AARON WONG-YOU A three-year starter for the Blue Knights, Coach Aaron Wong-You joined the Urbana University soccer coaching staff prior to the 2012 season. Wong-You's strong presence in the Blue Knights' back line from 2009-11 helped Urbana upset multiple ranked opponents over his career in the Royal Blue and White. When the Blue Knights starting goalkeeper went down with a season-ending injury late in 2011, WongYou stepped into an unfamiliar position to help his squad. In all, Wong-You appeared in 48 games, including 47 starts, for Urbana, scoring 1 goal from his defensive position. He came to Urbana from Tri County Technical College in the Carolinas where he was named Rookie of the Year for Coach Jim Borrichy. Wong-You is a product of the highly rated Winstars Soccer Academy in Toronto, Canada. He also played for the UMSC Strikers, and he served as team captain for 3 years at Sir Oliver Mavat C.I. , earning Team MVP honors as a senior. Aaron is the son of Elvis and Anne Wong-You. He is studying exercise science at Urbana University.

ABOUT URBANA UNIVERSITY

The stateof-the-art stadium was built on the south end of campus in 2006. The Blue Knights play and practice on the stadium’s allweather field turf. The field has seating capacity for over 3,000. ABOUT URBANA UNIVERSITY Urbana University administers aid from a number of federal and state programs, including Pell Grants, Ohio Instructional Grants, SEOG Grants, Perkins Loans, Student Stafford Loans, and Parent Plus Loans. Applicants are encouraged to apply early in their senior year of high school, though there is no stated deadline. While admissions are flexible based on high school achievements and grades, applicants are usually accepted based on having a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 and an ACT score no less than an “18” (or SAT score of 860). Urbana University is a member of NCAA Division II. The Blue Knight athletic teams compete against NCAA D-I, D-II, D-III and NAIA programs from across the country in 15 intercollegiate sports including: football, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s cross country, and men’s and women’s swimming. Women’s lacrosse became the 15th intercollegiate team during the 2010-11 school year, and men’s and women’s bowling club teams were added in 2009. A variety of activities are also offered for student enrichment including: theater, concerts, pep and marching bands, choir, movies, parties, guest speakers, comedians, flag football, intramural basketball, skiing, student newspaper, sand volleyball, indoor pool, student government and nearby outdoor adventure activities (canoeing, rafting, hiking, camping, etc.).

The 27,000-square-feet Student Center is one of Urbana University’s newest on-campus facilities. Features include the Bundy Wellness Center, lounge, conference and meeting rooms, snack bar, and a bookstore. Wireless computer service is available throughout the facility.

In 2003, a major renovation project was completed at Barclay Hall and adjacent Bailey Hall. The two buildings, which house classrooms, are now connected by an atrium and a secondary walkway.

Urbana University is dedicated to providing superb residence hall facilities to its students. McConnell Hall (above) was completed in the summer of 2007, and Sycamore Residence Hall (left) was completed in 2004.

The Warren G. Grimes Center (left) has been a mainstay on Urbana University’s campus for decades. Located on the south end of campus, the Grimes Center houses the gymnasium, swimming pool, racquetball courts, a new state-of-the-art free weight room, along with all of the athletic staff offices and additional classrooms. A sand volleyball court is located behind the Grimes Center. The facility is a hub for almost all student-athlete activity on campus.
