NAUEP NAUEP lost a very special treasure in 2018. Alica Ford, a dedicated member of NAUEP and an Etiquette Pros Quarterly contributor, Alica first became a part of the association after a call to impact young adult women. After receiving her Young Women’s Leadership Course Certification, Alica moved on to lead the NAUEP Etiquette Pros Quarterly magazine and a worked closely with the leadership team to open its first tearoom in Dallas.

Says Good Bye Thank you for brining life to Etiquette Pros Quarterly

Alica passed away in September in her home town in Pennsylvania surrounded by friends and loved ones. NAUEP is forever in debt to her dedication to the association and desire to impact every young woman she came into contact with. R.I.H Etiquette Pros Quarterly

The Etiquette Effect: 5 Etiquette Rules that Make the Holidays Great Great The holidays have arrived! Time for friendly gatherings, great food and, of course, good manners. Here are some tips to help you make it through the holidays with good graces and low stress: 1. Start out on the right foot by making sure to RSVP for any holiday gathering invitations. Whether you’re invited to dinner, a party or just cocktails, remember to respond to the invitation request. This helps the host with many levels of planning. Respond in the manner requested such as phone, email or returning an RSVP card. It’s also important to do so by the date requested. Don’t bring uninvited guests with you. Be on time if it is a sit-down dinner. 2. Remember to take a hosted gift. Good suggestions are flowers (already in a vase), candles, candy or sparking juices. Don’t take anything that the host will have to fuss over or attend to during the party. Also, don’t expect it to be something the host will use immediately as they may have everything they need for their event.

3. Remember to send “thank you” notes. If someone invites you to a party, a dinner or gives you a gift, show how much you appreciate their kind gestures by sending them a handwritten thank you note. 4. Beware of manners at company sponsored events. Holiday parties should be fun, but remember it’s still your place of employment. Dress appropriately, stay sober, watch what you do and be careful of what you say. You don’t want to do anything that you will regret or that will embarrass you or other. After all, you will face these people again at work. Most importantly, know when the party is over. 5. Offer to help. Even though your offer may be turned down, it’s the thoughtful thing to do. Happy Hot Tea Month With snow flurries falling outside, a warm cup of tea soothes the coldest winds. That’s why it’s a good thing the Tea Council of the USA established January as “Hot Tea” month. Tea is great any time of the year, but hot tea allows you to try so many different flavors. Teas include bold flavors like English breakfast tea or nice calming chamomile tea at the end of the day. With tea not only great for the taste buds, more and more, people are recognizing the benefits of drinking tea for their health as well.

How to Celebrate Hot Tea Month Getting into the spirit of the month is really a good time to give your taste buds a nice surprise and mix things up. Don’t be afraid to stand in the isle at your local grocers and try the most intriguing flavor you can find, attend a local tea tasting, or host “hot tea” night at your own home.
