Who are you?

My name is Bency Pierre, pseudonym is Ursa Major, and besides being an artist and label owner, I’m a curator for the Earwaxx Sessions.

What are The Earwaxx Sessions?

If you check the website, it’ll say “Long Island’s premiere creative expo,” but it is pretty much the home base for most of the Long Island hip-hop scene.

Is it a showcase, is it a label, or what?

Earwaxx has weekly showcases EVERY Tuesday in partnership with Amityville Music Hall. We’re all independent artists, so it’s really a great platform for raw artists to perfect their craft, veterans to test out new songs on a faithful and honest market, and for touring artists to grow a fan base.

Who are some of the biggest acts who have touched the Earwaxx stage?

We’ve had Dave East come through multiple times, Jacquae, and Fred the Godson.

What has been your best experience with The Earwaxx Sessions?

I got to be a headliner, and I booked a few of my friends as opening acts. There’s nothing like filling up the room with people who believe in you and want you to succeed. Plus, it helped me book my indie tour, and meet some dope musicians like Nikmoody and producers like Theme Music, Bassfourfive, and Matt Lawrence, AKA Choppa Beats.
