06 | BEAUTY
Big for winter, and a versatile addition to any woman’s wardrobe. It can be styled for the office, or accessorised for an evening out on the town. For a more classic look, choose minimal detailing, to avoid looking frumpy or outdated. The long sleeved black dress (or any long sleeved dress for that matter) exudes elegance. This dress may be very basic, but I think the basic nature is what makes it so stylish. It can be transformed into something glamorous in a matter of minutes, and it will always be in style no matter how long you have held onto it!
Let’s Look at a few ways to wear this versatiLe garment: 1. Sheer SleeveS Woman seeking a more youthful and sexy look, should look for a dress with sheer sleeves. This will give a more modern and updated style. Accessorise with a bold cocktail ring and statement earrings. Pair with an embellished, simple styled stiletto.
2. Keep hemlineS Short and necKlineS low Short hemlines are more modern and create a nice contrast to the style of dress, which is often considered quite modest. By having a lower neckline and a shorter hemline, a sense of balance will be created, as this type of dress can come across as quiet “solid/heavy”
3. Get the riGht fit an everyday option, comfort is key, while those worn quality fabric is essential. There are style options for any body.
07 | BEAUTY
4. Jewellery Because it is a single colour long sleeve dress, you can experiment with more sophisticated necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Just remember that your aim is to create a balance and not look like a Christmas tree! If you choose a bold necklace than keep earrings simple; a plain
5. add a belt Change the look by adding a belt in the waist. Pick a wide belt for a younger look, and a thinner belt for a more classic look. A gold or neutral belt are a good option.
6. ScarveS Tie a beautiful, colourful scarf loosely around your neck. The pop of colour adds interest and is suitable for almost all occasions.
7. JacKetS Wear with a blazer for a more corporate look. A trench coat is also a great addition, but one that is more dramatic. Make sure that the length of the trench is proportionate to the length of the dress. Pair with boots and stockings. There are many more ways you can wear this dress to suit any occasion. No matter what the weather is like outside, this dress will see you through the whole year.

If you don’t have a long sleeve black dress in your closet right now, go out and get one as soon as possible, as it will always be there to save you in a last minute clothing crisis!

country where it’s not safe to drink the water, don’t. In other words, keep your mouth shout...even in the shower. Most hotels have complimentary bottled water in the rooms, I even use these to brush my teeth.
3. I often travel with my husband and though he is the best travel companion, (he’s the methodical one, checking maps, solo can be quite an adventure as well. So if you’re travelling alone, use it as an opportunity to make new friends, many of which you will have forever. Solo travel allows the culture and forces you to learn a new language.
4. When your limited foreign language fails you, try body language. Punctuate your sentence with a smile, it goes much further than trying to scream in your own language. 5. Always ask the hotel reception for a

9. Do not be paranoid – Be wary, be wise but don’t be paranoid. A few years anoid that I convinced myself and my husband that someone in the hotel had morning we were leaving. Since, then I’ve aware of where I am but never to stress myself out.
10. Beware of tourist traps, rather decide ahead of time, book your tickets from home and then stick to that. Much time can be wasted at some of these, but if you really want to see it, arrive early, keep your sense of humour and make sure your camera is charged. I in Barcelona, and was happy to stand in the line to do so, my hubby, not so much, so we found him a spot of shade and left him there. He was happy to see it from the outside.

online helps: The internet has become everyone’s friend. So before you make any decisions, have a look at a few user review sites, the most popular being Trip Advisor. It is a helpful tool not only for evaluating hotels, but restaurants and tourist attractions as well. I booked a Trip Advisor and now still highly recommend the same hotel. Just remember, user reviews are useful and can always helpful is the user posted images. So before you go ahead and pay a fortune to see Les Miserables or London and buy tickets for the shows at discounted rates. SOUTH COAST
D A Y S AT SEA The KwaZulu-Natal South Coast is renowned for its beautiful beaches, its lazy days spent sunbathing and slurping ice-creams, its laid back locals and its rustic charm. It comes as something of a surprise then to find nestled among the frangipani and palm trees, a five-star guest house that owes its aesthetic less to rustic beach chic and far more to ultra-modern euro-centric minimalism and high fashion. Even more of a surprise is just how well this works, and just how comfortable and inviting euro-chic can actually be.
