The purpose of Reflective Moments is to offer you a way to incorporate the spirit of Saint Angela Merici into your own lives. We hope that it enriches you spiritually.

Celebrating Saint Angela The following was the homily delivered by Msgr. Bernard Powers during the Associates and Sisters Day Mass on June 27, 2009.

years …. a year …. a day spent in remembering, pondering, celebrating Saint Angela.

A celebration in some way captures a reality and holds it ever present. Its riches continue to flow. To celebrate Angela is to be brought together in admiration and thanksgiving. To reflect upon her life is to be inspired by her example. To come to her in prayer is to experience union with God. To listen to her instructions is to hear the heart of the Gospel, love. To share in her charism is to be deeply involved in the mission of the Church. To capture her spirit is to live in “highest hope.” To love as she did love is to share in an espousal relationship with the Trinity. To know her teachings is to have wisdom. Today we come with Angela and we enter into the Sacred Liturgy. Continued on other side

For Your Reflection

By Msgr. Bernard Powers

To look into the creative love of God is to see Angela: Humble before God.................. The Virgin. Attentive to the Word............... The Woman. Devoted to Jesus...................... The Disciple. Generous to the Church........... The Servant. Zealous for the Gospel............. The Teacher. Consecrated to God.................. The Religious. Aflame with a Vision............... The Foundress. Concerned with Followers....... The Mother. Living in God........................... The Contemplative. Caught up in God..................... The Mystic. Crowned by God...................... The Saint.

An Intentional Minute... Take just one minute in your busy day to turn to God.

Whatever is going on in my life right now, Whatever is going on in the world right now, I need to take some time to just enjoy the thought that God holds me, sings over me, and loves me. Very much. From The Little Blue Book, Catherine Haven, editor For Tuesday, 3rd week of Advent, Dec 16, 2008
