EARLY WARNING SYSTEMS In an early warning system (EWS) , we supported the installation a seismograph and a rangefinder station named “Estacion Puente Corquin RE” in the municipality of Corquín located in the deparment of Copán in order to improve the accuracy of parameters on seismic events locally , nationally and regional, and provide information in real time through the COPECOs web page for monitoring in the area to provide warnings locally when needed.
We supported a study about Seismic micro zonation in the town of Belen Gualcho , department of Ocotepeque; we had the participation of technicians from COPECO and UNAH using geophysical measurement equipment. The CODEM from Belén Gualcho has the final report of this study, which will be a fundamental tool to help prevent disasters.
