Premised on a dynamic understanding of citizenship, Civic Paths analyzes how participatory culture interactions encourage young people to create, discuss and organize to engage with specific civic issues and events. ► HEALTH, EQUITY AND MEDIA COLLAB is an interdisciplinary research lab tapping into the vast wealth of data that social media sites provide to glean insights into lived experiences and health behaviors. ► INSTITUTE FOR DIVERSITY AND EMPOWERMENT AT ANNENBERG (IDEA) furthers the USC Annenberg legacy of diversity and empowerment studies by gathering an impressive cohort of acclaimed scholars, leading research, compelling courses, and impactful programs that allow students to examine the vast complexities of diversity, identity and culture across both the School of Communication and the School of Journalism. ► ANNENBERG INCLUSION INITIATIVE is a leading think tank dedicated to addressing issues of inequality in entertainment in order to define areas within the industry where greater diversity is needed. ► MEDIA ECONOMICS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP program examines the evolution of business models in industries such as journalism, music and television as they are reshaped by technology. ► NORMAN LEAR CENTER is a multidisciplinary research and public policy center exploring implications of the convergence of entertainment, commerce and society. ► INSTITUTE OF SPORTS, MEDIA AND SOCIETY examines how sports and sports communication reinforce or modify our culture, social values, diversity and economy. ► USC U.S.-CHINA INSTITUTE aims to enhance understanding of the 21st century’s definitive and multidimensional relationship through research, training, public events and professional development efforts.
