The contest will be aired live in the greater Spokane area on KHQ and will be broadcast, tape delayed on Fox Sports Northwest at 10 p.m. Saturday evening. LAST TIME ON THE FLOOR: Donnisha Taylor pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds and Rheina Ale scored a team-high 14 points against Cal Poly as the Dons fell 73-52, Sunday at War Memorial Gym. NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE: The Dons will return from Washington to host one of the biggest home games in program history, as they welcome No. 3 Tennessee to War Memorial Gym. The game will mark just the third time in school history that the Dons have hosted a top-5, nationally ranked, team in the confines of War Memorial Gym. VOTE FOR VAL: This season the West Coast Conference is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Women’s Athletics, powered by Zappos.com, with a 25th Anniversary Team. The first 24 members were voted upon by members of the conference, while the 25th member is being left up to the general public. USF’s delegate is former Don standout Valerie Gillon. Gillon, a member of the USF Hall of Fame, was a two-time WCC Tournament MVP (1995, 1996), the 1996 WCC Scholar Athlete of the Year and ranks in the USF Career ranks in six categories. Please join the USF Women’s Basketball Program by voting for Valerie by visiting www. wccsports.com. Voting will close Sunday. TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR TILT WITH TENNESSEE: Tuesday, San Francisco women’s basketball will host one of the biggest home games in school history as the Dons welcome the Tennessee Lady Dons to War Memorial Gym for a 7 p.m. tilt. The Dons are encouraging fans to wear gold to the contest to participate in a “Gold Out” on the Hilltop. Tickets are still available for the showdown against Pat Summitt and the Lady Dons and can be purchased by contacting the USF Ticket Office at 415-422-2USF. TAYLOR GRABS THREE-YEAR HIGH FOR REBOUNDS: Donnisha Taylor posted 17 rebounds against Cal Poly, marking a career-high, while also posting the most rebounds for a Don since the 2006-07 season. Former Don Nikki Warren pulled down 21 boards against Colorado State in a 62-51 victory, November 17, 2006. The San Francisco record for rebounds in a single game is held by Linda Walsh, who grabbed 25 rebounds against Cal Poly, December 15, 1981. ALE ERUPTS IN THE SECOND HALF, FALLS SHORT OF RECORD: Rheina Ale erupted in the second half of the contest at Pacific, scoring 24 points in the final 20 minutes. Ale posted just one point in the first half, after only playing three minutes due to two early fouls. The 24 second half points is one point shy of the school record for points in the second half, set by Dominique Carter in 2008. Ale was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field, including five 3-pointers, to mark the second time in her career the native of Carson has been perfect from the field in her career. KHLOK PROVIDES STRONG DEPTH OFF THE BENCH: Freshman Mel Khlok has been a threat off the bench for the Dons this season, including recording her first career double-double last Thursday at Pacific. When playing as a reserve, Khlok averages 6.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per outing. Twice this season, against Utah State and at Pacific, the native of Sacramento has scored a dozen points as a reserve. For the season, the guard averages 6.5 points, 4.2 rebounds in 18.4 minutes of action per tilt. PRESENCE IN THE POST EARNS VICTORIES: One of the keys to victories this season has been USF’s junior forward Donnisha Taylor. In the four San Francisco victories this season, the native of Oakland has averaged 14.3 points with 8.75 rebounds, including two double-doubles. On the flip side, during the Dons’ losses, Taylor has averaged just 7.4 points and 7.5 rebounds. DONS’ VIKING VOYAGE: San Francisco took its game overseas in May, embarking on an 11-day, five game tour of Scandinavia. During the trip, the Dons visited Stockholm, Sweden, Oslo, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark, facing off against some of the top’s women’s basketball programs in the region. USF finished the trip with a 3-2 record, including a victory against the top team in Norway and two victories against the Danish National Team. ANTON EARNS CAREER HIGH: Heidi Anton came off the bench against BYU to post a career high 11 points at Hawai’i. In nine minutes of action, Anton hit 4-of-5 from the field with three free throws, including scoring five straight for the Dons. She also added an assist and a steal. Prior to her 11 points, Anton’s previous high was five points. Jazmine Perkins rounds out the trio with 12.7 points and 6.9 rebounds. WSU is coached by June Daughtery, who in her two years on the Palouse, has posted a 16-44 record.

(San Francisco) - Donnisha Taylor pulled down a career high 17 rebounds, including 14 in the first half as the University of San Francisco women’s basketball team dropped a 73-52 decision to Cal Poly at War Memorial Gym Sunday. Taylor’s 17 boards marked the highest single game total for a Don in just over three years.

SERIES RECORD/STREAK: Washington State holds the 3-2 all-time advantage over San Francisco, including a victory at War Memorial Gym as part of the Odwalla Classic last season. Saturday’s meeting will mark the first time the two programs have met on a netural floor. The Cougars have won the past three meetings. USF has not won a game in the series since 1983, thanks to a 79-66 victory on the Hilltop.

Taylor’s career high 17 rebounds marked the fourth time this season that the forward has posted 10-plus rebounds for San Francisco. Her 17 boards also marks the highest single game total for a USF player since Nikki Warren pulled down 21 against Colorado State on November 17, 2006. Taylor added eight points, an assist and a steal to her total stat line against Cal Poly.

LAST MEETING: Senior guard Shay Rollins and freshman guard Rheina Ale were named to the odwalla Classic All-Tournament team as the Dons dropped an 83-71 decision to Washington State at War Memorial Gym to wrap-up the three-day tournament. During the contest with the Cougars, Rollins led the Dons with 19 points.

The Mustangs led the contest, wire to wire, after jumping out to a 2-0 lead at 19:08 in the first half. Cal Poly held San Francisco to six points in the opening 10 minutes of the contest. The Mustangs took a 15 point, 35-20, lead into halftime after going on a 10-2 run over the final two minutes of the half. USF shot 23.1 percent in the opening half, while Cal Poly hit 15of-35 to post a 42.9 average.

WAR MEMORIAL GETS A FACELIFT During the Summer, USF Athletics honors a remarkable past and prepares for the next generation with a major renovation in War Memorial Gym. Among a number of improvements was the first floor replacement done since the arena opened in 1958-59. Along with the new hardwood flooring, the gym is sporting a fresh court design and a new coat of paint from floor to ceiling. The wooden bleachers on the ends of the court were replaced, and new lights were installed. Upon entering War Memorial Gym, fans will notice a number of other changes, starting with new entrances with to the arena, new retired jerseys hanging above the court, as well as new NCAA and conference championship banners, celebrating the legacy and tradition of USF’s basketball and volleyball programs. The south lobby of the gym underwent construction as well to create a more permanent concessions area.
