Saint Mary’s @ USF Match #18 • Sun., Oct. 30 • 3:00 pm Negoesco Stadium San Francisco, Calif.

San Francisco Welcomes BYU, SMC To Negoesco Dons welcome BYU for first time as a member of the WCC USF boasts two players with 10-plus points for first time since 2006 GAME NOTES THIS WEEK: USF continues it’s homestand this week as it hosts a pair of West Coast Conference match-ups. The Dons will welcome the newest member of the Conference, Brigham Young, to Negoesco Stadium. San Francisco and BYU will match-up for the first time as league foes, Thursday at 7 p.m. Sunday, the Dons will host the Gaels of SMC at 3 p.m. as a part of a double-header with the USF men’s soccer team. The Men’s team will kick-off at Noon against Loyola Marymount. NEXT WEEK: San Francisco will conclude the 2011 season, splitting time between the road and the friendly confines of the Hilltop. The Dons will travel to league-leading Pepperdine, November 4, before returning for a nonconference match-up with Cal State Bakersfield at 1 p.m. The contest with the Roadrunners will make the annual Senior Day on the Hilltop. LAST WEEK: The Dons battled hard, but fell just short of history, dropping a 1-0 decision in double overtime to Portland at Negoesco Stadium. The two programs have met on the pitch 24 times in the all-time series, with the Pilots being victorious on 23 occasions. The only time USF has earned a result over Portland was in 2006 when the Dons and Pilots battled to a 1-1 2OT tie in Portland. MOBERG KEEPS ‘EM COMING: With a late goal at Gonzaga, not only did Christina Moberg win the games for the Dons, she became the program’s most prolific single season scorer in five years. Moberg currently paces the Dons with five goals and two assists for 12 total points. Moberg’s dozen total points this season marks the most since Chelsea Hunt posted 12 in 2006. Prior to ‘06, Hunt posted 22 total points during the 2005 campaign. USF RECORDS FIRST WIN OVER LMU IN OVER A DECADE: October 7, the Dons’ 2-1 victory over Loyola Marymount to open West Coast Conference action was the first time since 1997 the Dons have logged a win over the Lions. In 1997, USF defeated LMU 2-1 on the Hilltop. All-time, San Francisco has gone 5-13-1 against Loyola Marymount. MOBERG, KRISER MAKING OFFENSIVE STRIDES: The duo of Christina Moberg and Mackenzie Krieser are a serious threat this season. Combined, the duo has recorded 22 points – over half of the Dons 42 total points. The last time USF has two members of its squad with 10-plus points was in 2006. That season, Chelsea Hunt recorded a dozen points, while Fiona O’Sullivan added 10. O’Sullivan went on to play for Ireland’s National Team. DONS USE TIME OFF TO GIVE BACK: Two weeks ago, the University of San Francisco volunteered to serve free meals at Glide Memorial Church. The Glide Foundation is a highly visible and historically significant service organization in downtown San Francisco. As part of the life of the City, the program welcomed the chance to support Glide’s services. USF team values service and is committed to helping better the community that supports the team. A dozen members of the Women’s Soccer team and staff worked with the staff of Glide and other volunteers to serve over 700 meals in the course of two hours. Glide serves three meals a day to over 2,000 people. In the month of September alone, Glide has served over 59,000 meals. KRIESER MAKES IMPACT IMMEDIATELY: Freshman forward Mackenzie Krieser has made an immediate impact for the Dons, starting all 13 matches of her young career. The Medford, Ore. native has proven to be a force to be reckoned with, scoring four goals while adding two assists for 10 points. The 10 points marks the most for a Don in a single season, since Chelsea Hunt posted a dozen in 2006. In 2003, Shuree Hyatt posted 20 points marking the last time a newcomer led the team with double-digit points.
