THIS WEEK: San Francisco is back in the friendly confines of War Memorial Gym this week, hosting Portland at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4 and Gonzaga at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6. After this twogame homestand, the Dons will have just one remaining home match.

LOOKING AHEAD: The Dons travel to neighboring Saint Mary’s for a 7 p.m. first serve on Thursday, Nov. 11 and then fly down to San Diego for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, Nov. 13.

LOOKING BACK: The Dons dropped a tough match dominated by runs to Loyola Marymount 22-25, 25-21, 23-25 and 18-25 on Thursday, Oct. 28 and then were swept by Pepperdine 25-14, 25-18 and 25-15 on Saturday, Oct. 30.

RECORD WATCH: Freshman Joan Caloiaro is hitting .263 after 79 sets so far this season. The best season hitting percentage from a freshman in USF history is .259, set by Teresa Russell in 1999. CRACKING THE TOP 10: Sophomore outside hitter Alycia Cox made her first appearance in a West Coast Conference top 10 statistical category. Cox is tied for ninth in service aces with 0.28 per set during conference matches. DOUBLE, DOUBLE TOIL AND TROUBLE: USF freshman Joan Caloiaro turned in her fourth consecutive double-double match against Loyola Marymount; beginning with 24 assists and 11 kills against Saint Mary’s, continuing with 58 assists and 19 digs against UC Davis, with 31 assists and 20 digs at Santa Clara and 29 assists and 13 digs at Loyola Marymount. The Saratoga native is now in doubledigits for double-double matches this season with 11 in addition to having put together two tripledouble matches as well. ACCURATE ATTACKING: The Dons had three hitters turn in attacking percentages of .400 or higher with a fourth, Joan Caloiaro, hitting .385 against UC Davis. Freshman Caiti Wenger led the way at .467 with sophomores Erin Kilroy and Alycia Cox hitting at a clip of .455 and .452, respectively.
