#2022ENERGYSUMMIT
WELCOME On behalf of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC), and the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce (AHCNM), thank you for joining us at the 2022 Energy Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico from April 21-22, 2022. This inaugural 2022 Energy Summit aims to convene energy industry leaders, suppliers, and policy advocates to address the critical issues affecting the dynamic energy sector during these unique and challenging times of opportunity. These issues include the demands of diverse human capital assets coupled with the supply and production of our precious natural resource assets. We will discuss solutions, policy, and cutting-edge technology as our energy industry transitions along the continuum of fossil fuels to the new energy economy. New Mexico is a natural energy hub. The rich history of Santa Fe, as the nation’s oldest capital city and in New Mexico, the state that is the first minority/majority with the highest Latino population in America is the perfect backdrop for this interactive event. The state is also rich in natural resources. As the nation’s secondlargest oil producer and ninth-largest natural gas producer, New Mexico is also a leader in wind, solar, and fossil fuel energy. We look forward to you joining us as we explore bold solutions that will shape our nation’s energy future. Respectfully,
Ramiro Cavazos
Ernie C’de Baca
President & CEO U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
President & CEO Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce
ABOUT New Mexico has long embraced “native” in its diverse population, which includes 48% Hispanic and 12% Native American and in its native natural resources. As the secondlargest fossil fuel and oil producer and ninth-largest natural gas-producing state in America, New Mexico is a leader in wind, solar, and renewable energy. Most of New Mexico’s oil production comes from the Permian Basin, located in eastern New Mexico and western Texas. The Permian Basin is one of the most prolific crude oilproducing areas in the nation and the world. The potential for electricity generation from wind is enormous as New Mexico ranked 13th amongst states in wind production. Furthermore, New Mexico’s climate is typified by abundant sunshine, as the state is one of the top three in the nation with the best solar energy potential. New Mexico is a natural energy hub and the perfect backdrop for the 2022 Energy Summit and as multiple transition pathways emerge, those pathways need to reflect the increasing need for diversity in energy production systems. Join us for this interactive event where we will discuss solutions, policy, and cutting-edge technology as our energy industry transitions along the continuum of fossil fuel to the new energy economy. The Summit aims to spark dialogue on the critical issues affecting the energy sector, including the demands of diverse human assets blended with the supply of various natural resource assets. “What got us here won’t get us there” as we acknowledge our country’s current and future demographics in shaping our energy future.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR CORPORATE CHAIR Welcome to New Mexico! PNM and AVANGRID are excited to partner with The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for this year’s Energy Summit. Hosting this event in our state’s capital highlights New Mexico’s diverse population and clean energy transition. PNM takes pride in leading this transition in our state and country. We are thrilled to come together with other leaders in our industry to connect and learn from each other. I look forward to witnessing how together we can positively impact the communities we serve.
Pat Vincent-Collawn Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer PNM/Avangrid
