Welcome to the 2022 USHCC Legislative Summit As America rebuilds, Hispanic Business is a key driver of our economy’s revitalization. The USHCC 2022 Legislative Summit “Back to Business: Strengthening Our Economic Recovery” welcomes the vast exploration of these countless innovative opportunities through public policy, procurement, advocacy, and access to necessary technical assistance to build back better. On behalf of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and our Board of Directors we invite you to join us as we connect America’s Hispanic Business leaders with elected officials from both sides of the aisle in a bipartisan effort to
influence legislative change. This Summit creates a platform for ideas that help our economy grow, our businesses scale, and our country move forward to reestablish our economic vibrancy. Join us on Wednesday, March 30th and Thursday, March 31st, 2022 for this important Hispanic business event. At the USHCC, our mission is to promote the growth, development, and interests of 5 million Hispanicowned businesses that contribute over $800 billion to the American economy every year. This is a topic that transcends political parties. When our businesses succeed, jobs are created, the economy grows stronger, we have better goods and services, and we are more competitive globally. We look now to a new political era in Congress and the Biden-Harris Administration who are tasked with drafting policies that grow our small minority-owned businesses and support our collective Hispanic community, 61 million citizens strong in America. The USHCC along with our corporate partners, chambers of commerce, and respective constituencies is ready to collaborate and advocate for strategic policies that grow Hispanic business, place Hispanics in positions of power in both government and corporations, and provide necessary access to capital and technical assistance to revitalize the American economy. The crafting and passage of these policies will require unity, participation, and strategic bipartisan collaboration. Whether you are a private smallbusiness owner, corporate executive, or chamber member, we sincerely hope you will join this dynamic conversation to have your voices of influence heard at our USHCC 2022 Legislative Summit.

Messages & Greetings A Message from our Legislative Summit Event Chair
Dear Business Leaders, On behalf of Comcast NBCUniversal Telemundo and Sky’s 200,000 employees, I am honored co-chair the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 Legislative Summit. The summit is an important opportunity to share the USHCC’s creative programming and bold advocacy agenda. In the coming days we will highlight members, identify business opportunities, introduce elected and appointed policy leaders rebuilding our economy, and amplify the USHCC Policy Platform during the first 100 days of this new administration.
Event Co-Chair USHCC Legislative Summit
Jacquelyn Puente Executive Director External Affairs Comcast NBCUniversal Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, Board of Directors United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
I want to thank the Board Chair Alice Rodriguez and President Ramiro Cavazos for their leadership and coolness under pressure. I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors and thankful for the opportunity to work with a dedicated team on the issues facing our community. In the throes of a global pandemic, economic crisis, natural disasters, and political and social turbulence, the USHCC community has united to mobilize Hispanic business leadership to advocate for policies to put us on the path to a more prosperous and equitable future. At Comcast, we are committed to our partnership with the USHCC and Hispanic business leaders to deliver strategic programs to businesses hit the hardest by COVID-19. Below are a few Comcast NBCUniversal initiatives with the USHCC to support Hispanic owned businesses: •
COMCAST RISE ---------------------------------------Comcast NBCUniversal launched Comcast RISE as part of our $100M Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative to offer grants, marketing resources, and technology updates to help businesses become more resilient. At Comcast, we’re committed to enhancing businesses of all sizes to offer the technologyforward experiences their customers expect, enabling them to go beyond bouncing back to bouncing forward.
•
INTERNET ESSENTIALS --------------------------------We know accessible and reliable Internet is more critical now than ever – and businesses understand that customers need internet service to access products and services across all sectors. In that vein, Comcast expanded Internet Essentials, the nation’s largest, most comprehensive, and successful Internet adoption program and increased internet speeds to 50/5 Mbps without raising prices from $9.95/month, the same it has been since 2011. Since the beginning of the pandemic, eligible IE customers receive 60 days of free service. Households qualify for IE if they are eligible for public assistance programs such as the National School Lunch Program, Housing Assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, and others. To learn more about how we’re bridging the digital divide, please visit www.InternetEssentials.com.
These efforts will set the pace for better days ahead. I am looking forward to the dialogue at this year’s virtual summit, and I am hopeful that we will continue our work together, in person, very soon!
Sincerely,
Jackie Puente Executive Director External Affairs Comcast NBCUniversal

Messages & Greetings A Message from our Board of Directors Chair & President & CEO
Dear Hispanic Business Leaders, It is an honor to welcome you to the 2022 USHCC Legislative Summit! Thank you for being a part of America’s largest Hispanic business organization. Our theme this year is “Back to Business: Strengthening our Economic Recovery.” Partnership underscores our mission as a pro-business, nonpartisan organization that is dedicated to strengthening America’s 5 million Hispanic-owned businesses, that together, contribute more than $800 billion to the American economy each year. We are proud to advocate on behalf of America’s dynamic Hispanic workforce. Before the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on the national economy, Latino entrepreneurs were starting businesses at a rate three times faster than the national average of nonLatino entrepreneurs. Over the past 10 years, Latina entrepreneurs, specifically, have created businesses six times faster than their non-minority counterparts.
Alice Rodriguez Chair Board of Directors United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Head of Community Impact Managing Director JPMorgan Chase & Co.
We are guided by our mission to empower our community by providing resources and adding value to our members. Our vision at the USHCC is to be the leading voice of advancing Hispanic business potential to drive our American economy. To this end, we have focused our advocacy on behalf of our Hispanic-owned businesses, Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, and Corporate Partner Members guided by “Three C’s”: •
Capital – Expanding equitable access to capital through traditional and innovative partnerships,
•
Capacity – Building capacity through programming, training, and new grant investments, and
•
Connections – Establishing connections through matchmaking, procurement, and advocacy.
With these strong partnerships, we will strengthen our collective voice as America’s largest Hispanic business organization to advocate for equity and a seat at decisionmaking tables in the U.S. Congress, the Administration, and in America’s largest corporations on behalf of our Latino community. We believe that as a nation, we must continue to expand access to capital, education, and procurement opportunities to unleash the potential of the $2.6 trillion GDP contributions Latinos make every year. Together, we will create generational wealth in our Latino community through education and entrepreneurship, and we will work to strengthen America’s economic recovery.

BUILDING BACK AMERICA THROUGH HISPANIC BUSINESSES PLENARY LUNCHEON 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM | PRESIDENTIAL BALLROOM The USHCC is proud to represent the interests of more than 4.7 million Hispanic owned-businesses who contribute $800 billion annually to the American economy. Today, the U.S. Latino community is 61 million strong and together we are responsible for $2.6 trillion of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). According to the Latino Donor Collaborative (LDC), one million Latinos/as turned 18 and were eligible to vote in 2020. This growth is expected to remain the same over the next two decades. This plenary will bring in experts to discuss the critical role that policy and legislation play as our community sees vast growth. Furthermore, we will hear from corporations on how our Hispanic consumer power will redefine supply chains, customer service, board room equality, contracting opportunities, and innovative technologies to maximize impact for our community.

RESTAURANT REVITALIZATION ROUNDTABLE 1:45 PM – 3:00 PM | VIA ZOOM This event is geared toward bringing together food industry experts to share their knowledge on operations after the global pandemic, share their successful tactics to remain open, and take questions from similar business owners to provide technical assistance through this unprecedented process in American history. This event will occur virtually to serve as many restaurant owners as possible across the country. We highly encourage your respective organization to share this invitation with as many restaurant owners in your network. The USHCC is actively advocating in Congress to replenish the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF). During the first round of the RRF, more than 278,000 applications were submitted. However, the SBA was only able to fund approximately 101,000 businesses, accounting for only one third of applicants. Thank you in advance for your help and support in this important advocacy matter as the USHCC strives to help restaurants in local communities across the country revitalize, employ, and remain open for business. Two-thirds of American jobs are created by small businesses, and Hispanic enterprises are leading this critical growth; starting new ventures at a rate three times the national average. The Hispanic Business Enterprise (HBE) Program provides a national platform to Hispanic-owned companies that have scaled and grown beyond the scope of local chambers of commerce. In addition to advocating on behalf of HBEs on Capitol Hill and across the country, the USHCC equips members with resources & knowledge to grow their business by raising awareness on procurement opportunities and introducing them to a broad network of decision makers in both the public and private sectors.
