AT FIRST GLANCE, a Utah wedding may strictly evoke thoughts of a cozy cabin affair among snow-capped mountains. But to those in the know, Utah’s wedding landscape is open to any style of wedding, from a low-key elopement among the state’s southern red rocks to a high-fashion affair in downtown Salt Lake City.
In this book, our goal was to explore the many ways a couple can execute a wedding celebration that is entirely, uniquely ‘them,’ from the venue to the decor, and even with a bit of international flair. Our Inspiration galleries take us from Tuscany (“Morning Glory” p. 114) to Paris (“From Paris, With Love,” p. 132), and from India (“Worlds Collide,” p. 126) to a fairytale wonderland (“Free Floating,” p. 120). Our fashion shoot is a vision of vintage eras (“A Lesson in Romance,” p. 148), while in “Setting the Scene,” (p. 140), two local industry veterans teach couples how to craft a perfectly curated tablescape.
It all goes to show: Utah’s wedding pros have something for every couple. Now get on top of your wedding game, and use these pages to build a Utah wedding vision all your own. Happy planning!

PRETTY PEARLS ARE back en vogue, dripping from lavish gowns and draping around the most unexpected of celebrity necks (hello, Mr. Styles).
“People aren’t wearing pearls like your grandma used to,” says Dominique Anderson, marketing manager at O.C. Tanner Jewelers. While nodding to tradition, today’s bride is updating this forever favorite by layering her heirloom pearls with contemporary jewels and mixed metals.
Pearls’ beautiful white color brings bridal delicacy to any look, whether paired with your “something old” gold locket, or a sparkling new diamonds-by-the-yard necklace.
Modern fashion trends leave the door wide open for self-expression.
“More is more when it comes to jewelry styling today,” explains Sydney Smith, O.C. Tanner marketing assistant. “I’m never opposed to mixing metals or rich layering.”
So go big—match these wonderfully versatile gems with your silver chokers and your glittering gold engagement ring. ere are no wrong answers here.
Pearls are incredibly delicate and can be tarnished by even lightweight beauty products. O.C. Tanner’s professionals recommend getting fully glammed on your big day before donning your pearls as the nishing touch.
Similarly, pearls are also not the ideal choice for everyday wear. “We always recommend a diamond for your engagement ring, because they will hold up to everyday use,” Smith says. “Save your pearls for those special occasions.”
Tailor Cooperative, one of Utah’s premier made-to-measure suiting shops, offers personalized advice to produce a one-of-a-kind wedding ensemble for the man of the hour.
THE DRESS GETS most of the fanfare on the wedding day, but we say the groom deserves his “Say Yes” moment as well. Enter Tailor Cooperative, the Salt Lake City clothiers who specialize in madeto-order menswear.
“The first step I take with grooms is to go over what they already wear,” says Tailor Cooperative clothier Alessandra Vivo. “We talk about what they have in their closets, what fits they’re comfortable with and how those elements might fit into their wedding visions.”
Then comes the fun part. Tailor Cooperative has over 15,000 fabrics and 100 linings that gentlemen of all styles can choose from to craft a totally unique look for their big events. From the shirt to the suit jacket’s buttons, every piece of a TC suit can be personalized.
“One of the most fun elements of our suits is that each client gets a monogram inside the jacket,” says Vivo. “For weddings, the groom tends to put his spouse’s name along with the wedding date, but each customer gets two lines to put in whatever he’d like.”
When planning a design you’ll love for years to come, Vivo recommends a classic color with customized flair. Black, gray and navy are hues that will stay chic long-term, and can be enlivened with a playfully patterned lining. “No one is really going to see the lining but you, so you can make it as fun as you’d like.”
But if one-of-a-kind is your vision, then bring on the color. Currently trending tones include greens, maroons and a full range of warm tan and brown fabrics.
Tailor Cooperative custom suits require 4-6 weeks to complete. “Two months before the wedding is usually a safe bet,” Vivo says. “At that point, bodies won’t change much, and we still have time for measurements, construction and alterations for the perfect fit.”

Shower your bridal party with a host of locally-sourced and Utah-focused gifts.
FEW THINGS ARE as important as selecting your bridal party. When tying the knot, you want only your most beloved friends and family by your side. Whether you propose to your party with a full gift box, or give them each a personalized item to thank them after the event, these local items make the perfect expression of affection and appreciation for a Utah wedding celebration. Treat your bridesmaids to self-care items to help them primp before the big event. Make it personal by offering custom-engraved jewelry pieces crafted just for them. In the men’s department, a bow tie or novelty comb will ensure your line is looking dapper for the ceremony, while a hand-made (and landscape-loving, in this case) rocks glass paired with a quality whiskey prepares him to party. A luxurious pen delivers personal care and professional flair to any suit pocket.
“Fine writing instruments make the best groomsmen gifts,” says Sean Bradley, owner of Tabula Rasa Stationers. “They feel elegant and special, and you can get something personal for everyone.”

Non-alcoholic wine is leading the trend in cocktail hour alternatives.
THERE ARE MANY reasons you might offer your wedding guests nonalcoholic (NA) beverage choices at your reception, but that doesn’t mean they can’t indulge in a glass of something special to match the occasion. Put down the Martinelli’s and Shirley Temples and, instead, consider non-alcoholic wine as an elevated alternative for non-imbibers. Created by people who know and love wine, non-alcoholic vino embraces fullbodied flavor without the buzz. “It’s a compelling product that checks a lot of boxes for Utahns,” says Tracey Thompson, President and CEO of wine brokerage/ non-alcoholic distributor VineLore. After scouring the market for non-andlow-alcoholic wine options since 2012, Thompson noticed a boom in the industry after 2020. Taking their cue from the growing demand for NA options, leading wine producers now offer dealcoholized pinot noirs and sauvignon blancs. And for those who prefer zero residual alcohol, companies like Zilch have created bubbly grape beverages that never undergo fermentation. “There’s lot’s of innovation in this market,” Thompson remarks. So go ahead, serve those bubbles during cocktail hour and a glass of cabernet with your reception dinner. Guests will appreciate the extra thought and will be encouraged to sip and savor on your special day.

WEDDINGS DESERVE a visual treat as enchanting as the show-stopping bride. At Cake by Alessandra, each creation features top-quality ingredients, exceptional design, and a personal touch reflecting the couple’s unique love story.
Since 2007, owner Alessandra Wortmann has captivated her clients through superior design and flavor, a skill formed and nurtured throughout her childhood in the family kitchen where she honed her culinary skills.
“Many of my best memories center around growing up in Brazil, and I believe that’s where my passion for baking cakes began,” Wortmann explains.
Beneath the surface of her captivating visual aesthetic lies a taste equivalent to her artistry, making her cakes an exquisite treat for her clients.
While Wortmann is recognized as a chefd’oeuvre in her own right, she also understands minimalistic and understated design, offering customers a variety of options to make their vision–and budget–a reality.
“It’s important for clients to have a general idea or cake style before their consultation,” Wortmann states. “I need a general idea of what they want, then I transform their ideas into a culinary vision.”
While Cake has continued as a front-runner in the wedding cake business, Wortmann understands that each client has specific needs and should choose professionals with aligning visions. “We are so lucky to have so many talented vendors in Utah. Besides choosing the perfect cake, Alessandra’s best advice to couples is to choose vendors early, scheduling with her as soon as possible.

WITH FIFTEEN SEASONS archived, Fuse Weddings and Events knows that executing the perfect wedding begins with mutual compatibility and impeccable design.
Fuse owner and renowned wedding planning expert, Mara Mazdzer, is as selective with her clientele as she is with her artistic vision. Prioritizing the value of well-suited partnerships, Mazdzer emphasizes choosing the right clientele in order to foster positive and effective experiences.
“We have a limited number of clients we work with each season, so we choose couples with visions we’re excited about and when we feel like we’re a good fit. A Fuse client knows we’re partners through the entire process with an
equal investment in the success of their event,” Mazdzer explains.
Focused on unforgettable guest experiences paired with bespoke design, events with Fuse emphasize the important details of each couple to ensure they capture their unique love story.
Recurring feedback Fuse receives after events is how guests and family gushed about the authenticity of the big day and how it really “felt like” the couple they were celebrating.
When planning your perfect day, Fuse urges you to research the vendors you’re considering and read their reviews to help make your dream day a reality. “We’ve learned that working with the right people is the best formula for a successful day and the best strategy to enjoy the process.”

FIRST IMPRESSIONS happen once. If your goal is to create a lasting impact on your wedding day, it’s important to focus on the technical details such as lighting and sound equipment.
No one wants their important moments interrupted by a screeching microphone that wasn’t set up in the right place or a piece of equipment falling because it wasn’t mounted properly. Working with top industry professionals like Skylark Productions will allow you to focus on making memories rather than fussing with complicated equipment.
Skylark is Utah’s premiere AV company with an outstanding reputation for quality and professional services. As a partner business of Utah Live Bands, Skylark offers innovative and creative services that turn standard events into magical experiences.
Focused on continually expanding their offerings, they are constantly building their inventory of staging and lighting elements. By incorporating the latest technology and most state-of-the-art equipment, they aim to bring their client’s vision to life that exceeds all expectations.
“Our goal is to be the obvious resource for clients who want something uniquely theirs and is worthy of their high standards,” explains owner, Michael Tobian.
Skylark discovered early on from their clients just how hard it is to find a team of experts to run lighting and AV equipment, so they’ve designed their business model around customer satisfaction.
“We want to spend time getting the sound and equipment perfect, providing the extra effort and expense to make the final experience breathtaking. We are the top experts in our field and our team is the very best and most experienced.”

Knowing what it takes to bring a wedding to life, Tobian has been chosen as the 2024 President of the Wedding International Professionals Association (WIPA), a tremendous industry stamp of approval for clients searching for professional musicians.
While they might be located locally, Utah Live Bands’ musicians are a sought-after choice for celebrity and luxury weddings spanning the globe. As the winner of 49 Best of State Awards,
their reputation is founded on unparalleled quality. Still, their in-state competitive pricing model is a standout feature.
Tobian’s expertise is recognized within the entrepreneurial sector. He has been honored by Utah Business Magazine as one of the ‘40 under 40 Utah Business Leaders’ for several businesses and attributes Utah Live Bands’ continued success to exceptional customer support.
“We have excellent customer service! We typically provide our clients a quote within an hour of inquiry and we are kind and helpful to them through the process. We work regularly with all the planners and venues in Utah and really care deeply about the success of the event. If you read through our many Google reviews, you will see that our customer service is a huge testament to our longevity of being in business for nearly twenty years,” Tobian remarks.
“The nice thing for our clients in Utah is that they are getting world-class, national bands for around half the price they’d normally charge because, being based in Utah, the events are in their backyard.”

WHAT’S AHEAD:
We’re in the midst of a significant growth phase. We just finished building our new offices and showroom and are also expanding the level of service we offer at each wedding. These days, in addition to entertainment, we often provide staging, pipe and drape, AV, lighting, videography services, ceremony live streaming and some decor elements. This allows us to add to our client’s experiences, making things easier for our clients and planners alike, as they can rely on a single vendor with whom they have a high level of trust and are able to provide many of the services that would otherwise require a lot of coordination between multiple companies.
EXCITED ABOUT:
Helping to elevate the quality of events in Utah. We have excellent planners, vendors and talent in this state. We are just thrilled each time we get to be a part of a successful and well-executed event!
FRESH IDEAS:
Don’t underestimate the value of choosing the very best wedding professionals to work with on your big day! Your wedding will be one of the few most memorable moments of your life and at the end of your event, you want to be able to tell yourself that you were so glad you chose who you did to pull it off!!
From the first save-thedate card to memorializing the final memories, turn to fine art-inclined venues and vendors to transform your wedding aesthetic into something gallery-worthy.
If first impressions are the most important, then your invitation suite is the prime opportunity to introduce your guests to your personal wedding style. Christy Townsend—owner and lead designer of The Paper Vow (thepapervow.com)—creates luxurious, hand-painted custom stationery suites with the high-end couple in mind.
“Couples today think deeply about their invitations and how they can kick off their full wedding experience with that first perception,” Townsend says. “It’s all about their personal vibe, and the invitation is the perfect place to introduce what kind of mood your wedding will have.”
And this custom suite (left) sings of “rustic luxury.” Bespoke watercolors grace envelope liners and save-the-date cards, capturing Sundance Resort’s Carriage House venue and its surrounding landscape in artful splendor. The Paper Vow can also include painted details from the day’s decor, portraits of pets and personalized monograms to be displayed on paper elements throughout the event—from menus to beverage garnishes.
The curation doesn’t have to stop there— Townsend’s attention to detail turns the full package into a work of art. When taking your suite from basic to luxury, paper becomes a medium all its own.
“A handmade paper with deckled edging, foil press or rich textures immediately elevates your invitation,” she says.
From there, it’s time to pile on the layers. Silk ribbons, blind-embossed typography, wax seals and more deliver the splendid, old-world flourish that your wedding craves.
Bailey Moser of Painting with Bailey (baileymoser.com) captures your most cherished moments like you’ve never experienced. What began as a passion for acrylic landscape painting has launched her into a unique business providing couples with artistic, one-of-a-kind mementos of their wedding days.
Moser’s services include two forms of artwork: studio painting and live painting.
Moser’s studio paintings happen after her clients’ wedding days. For these pieces, she takes photo and video references from your event and creatively translates them on canvas after the celebration. These paintings are ideal for anniversary gifts or capturing intimate elopements. They also provide a unique opportunity to include any VIPs who couldn’t attend the wedding, whether they be a pet left at home or a late family member.
For a one-of-a-kind experience on the wedding day, Moser can also paint your memories in real-time, capturing whatever special moment you choose.
“My favorite moment to capture is the ceremony exit,” Moser says. “Many couples pick the timeless and emotional ‘first kiss,’ but I love the movement and joy that can be captured in a painting of the ceremony exit. The dress will be flowing, and you can see the couple’s full faces.”
Although Moser’s work serves as a sophisticated preservation of the wedding day, her service also brings a level of cultured entertainment to the day’s turn of events.
“There are some slower spots in every wedding timeline, including cocktail hour or the moments right before ceremony seating begins,” says Moser. “In these moments, the entertainment aspect plays a big part—guests now have a more elevated experience. They have something to gather around to fill that space.”

Makeup Artist Reese Stockman shares her tips and tricks on creating your ideal wedding look.
IIT’S YOUR WEDDING day and all eyes are on you. Put your best face forward with a makeup look that complements your unique features and allows you to shine from the inside out. Cosmetic connoisseur Reese Stockman of Beauty by Reese offers her top tips to help you find your perfect fit.
“It’s all about comfortability,” Stockman says. “A rock climber who never wears makeup is going to feel more natural in a minimal look, rather than the mom of three who wears makeup everyday and is looking for a full glam.”
Despite the “No-Makeup Makeup” look sweeping bridal trends, most brides are actually looking for a neutral look. “The bridal blueprint is a sculpted eye and a nude lip with some flushed cheeks,” Stockman explains. Rather, traits of a true clean girl look are a healthy glow focused on the high planes of the face, fluffy brows and a wispy lash.
Whether you’re looking for a bronzed glow or a fully glammed face, Reese implores brides to start skincare early. “Makeup is 150% skin-centered, so you should start really honing in on your routine about a year ahead of your wedding.”
Out of all the tips Reese gives her brides, she cannot overstate the importance of a makeup trial. “Trials give brides the space and freedom to figure out what they like and what they don’t, without the pressure of the wedding day schedule, flustered bridesmaids and other factors.” For best results, Reese recommends scheduling a makeup trial eight to 12 months ahead of your big day.

A lush oasis in the foothills of Salt Lake City, Red Butte Garden offers unique venues to host your next private event or the wedding of your dreams.
Become wedding-ready at some of the state’s poshest rehearsal dinner venues.
WWHETHER YOUR CELEBRATION is downtown or out in the iconic Southern Utah deserts, our state is host to a full range of prewedding event spaces, each equipped with catering, furnishings and all the elements needed for a stress-free wedding weekend.
As one of Southern Utah’s premier private golf clubs, Entrada (golfentrada.com) is surrounded by world-renowned landscapes. And while the idea of planning at a private club may sound daunting, you don’t need a membership to access the club’s stunning indoor event spaces.
The Entrada clubhouse is home to two ballrooms and a private dining space, each with remarkable views of St. George’s red rock formations. The property’s two ballrooms, each divisible into up to three sections for more familiar accommodations, include floor-toceiling window walls which open up for direct access to the clubhouse’s patios and lush lawns.
“Access to the lawn allows you to make an event more casual and fun,” says Carey Kerns, Event Sales Manager. “Couples often place lawn games outside to play as a group.” The lawn is also the space where most Entrada vows are exchanged, so lawn access is the perfect way to transition from rehearsing your ceremony straight into a high-end dining experience. In the venue’s more intimate Prince Dining Room, couples and their guests have access to an upper-balcony patio with
views into Snow Canyon Park. Alongside beautiful spaces, couples also have access to house linens and a trained and talented event staff—from awardwinning chefs (outside catering is not permitted) to skilled event setup experts. Should you need lodging, The Inn at Entrada boasts accommodations up to two bedrooms, each with attached garages, for your guests to stay in style while on site.
Take advantage of a full range of dining and style options at Pendry Park City (pendry. com/park-city). A recent addition to Park City’s Village area, the luxury hotel is the perfect landing spot for a city-chic bride craving a touch of mountain flair. For larger groups, Pendry has two onsite ballrooms ready for all manner of customizations. “We have air walls that split ballrooms into smaller spaces if needed,” says Shelby Truax, Sales Manager over Catering and Private Dining at Pendry.
“Then we can arrange with rounds, buffets or highboys for any sort of plated or cocktailhour event.” Pendry has a full catering menu created expressly for event guests
to utilize in these spaces, and they offer a variety of options for your perfect rehearsal dinner spread. What’s more, the hotel has a dedicated A/V team on-site which, though not required as in-house catering is, gives you one less vendor to enlist.
If a more intimate and luxurious dining experience fits the bill, Pendry’s KITA restaurant may be your pick. A high-end Japanese sushi bar and steakhouse, KITA offers options for full and partial buyouts for both buffet and plated dinners.
Take a casual approach with a custom party at one of the destination’s celebration-ready restaurants: Disco Pizza and Dos Olas Mexican restaurant. “At Dos Olas, you have a lot of fun options,” says Truax. “You could do build-your-own tacos and margaritas. You could come up with passed ceviche or tostadas for cocktail hour. Dos Olas is definitely more chill—but equally delicious.”
Because most destination weddings encompass a full weekend, Pendry is also happy to assist in arranging room blocks and other lodging needs for your wedding guests. “We strive for convenience,” Truax explains. “We try to have everything
available in one spot, so guests don’t have to travel very far to get to the festivities.”
Cropping up next door to Valter’s Osteria and Salt Lake City’s hotel district, a new kid on the block is ready to host couples in fresh style. Edison House social club (edisonhouseslc.com) opened its doors on 200 West in 2022, in hopes of transforming how Salt Lakers work, network and, of course, celebrate.
The club’s most intimate space is the wine room, located off the main level restaurant. Contemporary furnishings and modern design await a small group of your family and friends. It offers a full catering menu crafted by in-house chef Buzz Willey, formerly of SLC’s Pallet restaurant.
Plan a full party with a pre-wedding celebration at Edison House’s speakeasy— think glistening chandeliers, rich velvet and a stage for karaoke, jazz band and anything in-between. The speakeasy has a full bar and can host up to 75 guests for a swanky rehearsal, bachelor party or bridal shower.
Though the club boasts a host of beautiful spaces, the most popular is its Events Hall. Located on the building’s top floor, the contemporary-chic event room features a towering wall of windows framing views of bustling downtown SLC and the valley’s western mountain ranges. Outside, the large patio invites personal touches, whether you choose a candlelit outdoor dinner or clusters of cozy lounge furniture for an intimate cocktail reception.
CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT: Floor-to-ceiling windows spill afternoon light and city views into Edison House’s events hall; Dishes carefully prepared by chef Buzz Willey offer both flavor and flair to any celebration; The building’s top-floor patio is primed for a romantic candlelit dinner; Cozy lounge furniture prepares any corner for a contemporary cocktail get-together.

Camille and Tommy’s love story is a modern “Hinge Happily Ever After.” After connecting on the online dating platform, Camille (a Salt Lake City native) and Tommy (a transplant from Littleton, Massachusetts) dated for seven and a half months before taking things to the next level.
Tommy had just moved to San Francisco and was visiting Camille in Utah during October when he decided to do something extra special. The pair took a drive through the Alpine Loop to admire Utah’s fall colors. They found a secluded path into a clearing, where they could take some photos and enjoy nature away from the canyon crowds. “We talked about how lucky we felt to be together, and then just as I was starting to wonder if we should go back to the car, Tommy got on one knee,” recalls Camille. “It was so special and private.”
The couple took their engagement photos at the Downtown SLC Commercial Club venue, and they immediately fell in love with the space’s old world details, from its vintage wainscoting to its towering ceilings and glittering chandeliers. “The white was the perfect backdrop for our colorful florals,” says the bride.
Camille approached La Fete Floral and Events with a self-described “color-explosion” vision for her big day, a vision that florist Allison Baddley expertly translated into playful arrangements full of eye-catching interest and texture. Lavender, pink and pale yellow were the main players in this palette, delivering a cool-toned spread to every corner, while still feeling upbeat and youthful.
At Bonneville Glen, a fireplace arrangement in subtle pinks and purples welcomed the couple to the end of their ceremony aisle, where Camille’s uncle officiated. Cousins
played violins during the family procession down the aisle, led by the couple’s niece Charlotte as the flower girl. “When it was time for [us] to exchange vows, we abandoned the [altar] and ducked aside into a little bit of shade, so we could soak in the moment instead of battling the heat.”
For the ceremony and pre-reception events, Camille wore a custom-designed wedding gown by Penelope’s Gowns, who also crafted the mother-of-the-bride’s wedding gown in the 1990s. “It was a dream to have Penelope make my gown, and it turned out even better than I had imagined.”
The bespoke gown featured billowing tulle sleeves, a fitted v-neck bodice and
flowing skirts in patterned lace. For a bit of shine, the bride also wore jewelry gifted to her by her late grandparents. Equally chic, Tommy donned a classic blue suit and a pale blue necktie.
Back inside the venue, guests enjoyed a catered menu of on-trend handheld items, from vegetable gyoza and a cantina-style salsa bar to BBQ pork steamed buns and gelato stations. Three signature mocktails graced the bar: pomegranate limeade with fresh mint, a blackberry basil mule and pineapple mint mojitos.
Primed for dancing, the bride swapped her custom gown for a dazzling sequin jumpsuit
that fit the celebratory mood. Tommy and Camille’s personalized playlist was a crucial element of their wedding vision, so DJ Shane Taylor arrived on scene to showcase their curated tracks and keep guests dancing. The couple led the festivities with a first dance to “Golden Hour” by Kacey Musgraves, and midway through the number the DJ invited their parents to join. Afterward, “My Girl” played over the speakers, and every guest was invited to grab someone they love and join in on the fun.
Following their carefree wedding day, Camille and Tommy embarked on a honeymoon adventure to Riviera Maya, Mexico.

BLUE SKY LODGE, WANSHIP SEPT. 17
Planning and Design by FUSE WEDDINGS AND EVENTS
Jon & Tito first met in 2009, as friends while in separate relationships. “We stayed in touch throughout the years, even when Tito relocated to Los Angeles for work.” Nearly a decade after their initial friendship, Tito (newly single) moved to NYC to take a new job with L’Oreal. Jon’s late husband had passed away that summer, and the pair decided to reconnect over a friendly dinner. That dinner quickly turned into a first date, leading them through deep discussions well into the night.
In August 2020, to celebrate Tito’s 37th birthday, Jon arranged a beautiful starlit dinner for 20 of their closest friends at the couple’s New Jersey home. After dinner, Jon gave a champagne birthday toast to Tito that stretched into a profession of love and desire to spend the rest of their lives together. He produced a surprise ring from his pocket—and without a dry eye in sight, Tito gave Jon a big hug and immediately accepted the proposal.
These two stylish grooms knew they wanted a venue that could be dressed up and dressed down simultaneously, and Wanship’s Blue Sky Lodge was the perfect choice.
The couple’s pasture-view outdoor ceremony was held on the lawn and featured exquisitely minimalist florals and decor. Elongated gold vessels lined both aisle
and altar, presenting elegantly draped monochrome calla lily bouquets, backed by bunches of dense greenery. Guests looked on, seated in sleek black chairs. Jon and Tito were each escorted down the aisle by their mothers, and were married by Jon’s brother, Steven, with rings presented by the couple’s dog, Chloe, who arrived on-scene decked in burgundy florals and white tulle frills. Both Tito and John sported custom midnight blue tuxedos. For the reception, they swapped their classic black ties for feathered ones, and Jon donned suspenders patterned with the scales of justice, gifted to him by his parents when he entered law school.
The stately, masculine decor continued at the reception. “We wanted a masculine, dark and sexy vibe for our wedding that also respected the natural scenery of the mountains.”
Within Blue Sky’s barn venue, neutral tones accented by burgundy blooms and details enrich every surface. Rich, leatherlike browns stand out against matte-black and metallic foundations, with every detail glittering under the venue’s strings of lights. The room’s centerpiece was a branch chandelier, dripping with brilliant white orchids.
A plated dinner for all 110 guests awaited beyond the barn doors. The menu’s Utah trout and bison nodded to the rustic venue, while late-night burgers and fries coupled with dancing in true party style. The couple chose a unique all-black cake accented with violet figs to foster their sleek, minimal vibe, and inside was a surprising chocolate and peanut butter dessert. Led by DJ Chu, Tito and Jon danced the night away with their family and friends, sipping signature cocktails named for the couple’s Asbury Park, Chelsea, and Park City homes. Their first slow dance was to “Stand by Me” by Skylar Grey, immediately followed by an upbeat Puerto Rican salsa to “Suavemente” by Elvis Crespo, in honor of Tito’s Caribbean heritage.
Jon and Tito enjoyed three days at the Bulgari Hotel in Dubai exploring the city and adventuring on dune buggies. They followed it with a St. Regis stay in the Maldives, snorkeling and diving in the crystal blue waters.

JUNE 17

Eliza and James’s first encounter occurred nearly a decade before their marriage, when they followed each other on social media. Eliza was a high school sophomore and James a senior upon their first connection, but until adulthood they remained virtual friends only. The two finally met in person in 2021 and the rest, as they say, is history.
One of the pair’s favorite activities while dating was sharing dinner together on the balcony of James’s Salt Lake City apartment. One evening about a year into their relationship, James surprised Eliza during their nightly meal by getting on one knee and asking her to marry him, with the lights of the city shining as his backdrop. Of course, Eliza accepted.
“We ate dinner on the balcony together almost every night the first summer we were dating,” Eliza recalls. “We like to say that is where we fell in love.”
The couple tied the knot in a bright June ceremony at a relative’s home in Salt Lake City. “I’ve always wanted to get married outside, in a place that is special to me,” says Eliza. “My mother was married at her family home and as the first child to get married in my family, carrying on the tradition felt right.”
Eliza’s wedding day vision included luxurious blooms and loads of color—a true garden party.
The first garden-chic moment (delivered by event planner Michelle Leo Events and Artisan Bloom) was the ceremony arch. A towering stone installation in the residence’s backyard served as the ideal backdrop for a bursting pink arch, where the ceremony vows and speeches took place.
Opposite James in his classic black, Eliza wore a multi-layered Lazaro A-Line gown with floral texture and a hand-embroidered floral veil to match the garden scene. Two bracelets from her late grandmothers played supporting roles in the accessory department, delivering shine to the bride’s otherwise sleek presentation. As Eliza walked down the aisle, she carried an equally sleek bouquet of pale pink calla lilies, in beautiful contrast to the full-bodied

blooms which made up the event’s other arrangements. On either side of the couple, six bridesmaids wore peach-colored satin gowns, while the groomsmen stood uniformly in black suits and pink-accented boutonnieres.
The couple exchanged rings handed down by the groom’s family, following speeches about love delivered by James’s older sister and Eliza’s grandfather.
Following the big “I Do,” the couple and their guests moved the party to a soaring sailcloth tent. In perfect harmony with the bridal party’s gorgeously paired attire, the guests’ attire also reflected the “garden party” theme. Every attendee arrived dressed to the nines in florals and linens, creating a guest lineup that appeared as curated as the design itself.
Peach and pink floral arrangements dotted the space, sitting atop vinepatterned linens that accentuated the garden-style appeal. Twinkling lights, strung along the seams and supports of the tent, sparkled in the reflections of tall floating candles, delivering a delightful dose of magic to the summer evening.
At the bride’s request, a side table included a “legacy display,” showcasing the wedding photos of family members, and tributes to loved ones who had passed away. “This was one of my favorite parts of our wedding,” Eliza says.
Guests dined on peach-and-burrata salad and an elevated version of “steak frites,” the bride’s favorite meal. Culinary Crafts presented hanger steak with chimichurri sauce and fries, with a side of classic Utah fry sauce. For dessert, two tiers of decadent wedding cake featured the couple’s favorite flavors: double chocolate and strawberry lemonade.
Following dinner, the party hit the dance floor. Eliza & James shared their first dance to “Forever After All” by Luke Combs, then spent the rest of the evening dancing with their loved ones. At the end of the night, the couple made their getaway in style, driving off in Eliza’s grandfather’s vintage Thunderbird before flying away to a Hawaii honeymoon.

Shannon and Matt were both Midwest transplants to San Francisco when fate landed them both jobs at the same company. After hitting it off in 2016, the pair chased each other through several cities and jobs before finally landing in Denver. One weekend, Matt arranged for both of their parents to visit, and he proposed to Shannon during a walk through their favorite park. After Shannon’s enthusiastic “yes,” she was surprised yet again when, upon returning to the hotel, she discovered several of her closest friends had also flown in to celebrate.
Shannon and Matt truly embraced Park City’s ski culture during their late-spring celebration at St. Regis Deer Valley.
“We wanted to bring everyone together for an intimate ski weekend,” Shannon says. “Park City was one of the first places Matt and I took a ski trip together.”
The couple captured the theme with a one-of-akind stationery suite, featuring a custom watercolor of the wedding destination and elegant letterpress invitations, all bound with a custom-cut gondola tag. The personalization continued on paper pieces throughout the wedding: from welcome bags to bar napkins with the pair’s pup printed on them.
Color brought a cheerful vibrancy to the wedding’s still-snowy winter setting. Embracing a “frosty spring” palette, the event’s design featured a neutral foundation with natural textures such as wicker lanterns, cream sofas and oversized leather ottomans—all brought to life by a bounty of blooms.
“We wanted all of the events to feel refined and upscale, yet still welcoming, cozy and fun,” says Shannon.

Guests, warmed by roaring fires and cozy blankets, looked on as Shannon walked the aisle in a custom-designed Anne Barge gown, wrapped in an elegant white stole to match her bridesmaids. Matt wore a custom navy suit by Joshua Gold—his fraternity-brother-turned-personal clothier— ski-themed dress socks and a pair of leather oxfords purchased on a Portugal getaway with his soon-to-be-wife. Both bride and groom kept accessories minimal, but Shannon’s engagement ring got a new partner in the form of her greatgrandmother’s wedding band.
The couple signed a hand-painted Israeli Ketubah and were wed by Rev. Anita Gordon under a chuppah draped with Shannon’s late grandfather’s tallis. Their vows were hand-written, and their labradoodle, Kona, barked her own vows as well.
Following a welcome dinner at The Vintage Room apres-ski bar honoring Matt’s Mediterranean heritage with a raw bar, focaccia and paella, the couple worked with the team at St. Regis to design a menu celebrating the seasonal specialties of Utah. This included braised leek soup, a beet and Heber Creamery goat cheese salad, bison with huckleberry and ruby trout with root vegetables. Each dish was paired with wine from the couple’s favorite regions, including Marlborough, Willamette and Sonoma.
Dessert was no small affair. “We both love cake, particularly indulgent, nostalgic flavors,” says Shannon. Their cake boasted three decadent layers: Oreo, Boston Cream and coconut cream.
Signature drinks were poured all weekend long, including scotch-spiked cocoa, fig-and-herb spritz medleys, campfire whiskey Manhattans and Lavender French 75, made with the couple’s favorite Botanist gin and a sprig of fresh thyme. The couple fully customized their bar, outfitting every shelf with their preferred spirits from around the world.
Music City Groove had all guests dancing for the duration of the evening, including during the couple’s first dance to a John Legend ballad.
Shannon and Matt spent the days after their winter wedding decompressing in the sunny Cayman Islands, and spent their first anniversary in
LA CAILLE, SALT LAKE CITY OCT. 22

April and Ben met while attending law school at Chapman Law in Orange, California, where April grew up. Now both lawyers, the pair tied the knot in a beautiful fall ceremony in Ben’s hometown of Salt Lake City. Prior to the big day, they were engaged for two years after Ben popped the question while on a hike on a trail overlooking Salt Lake’s capitol building.
The couple’s wedding day was a stunning blend of tradition and culture, classic colors and subtle nods to each of the newlyweds’ personalities. In La Caille’s atrium, Rev. Craig Gordon led a beautiful ceremony backed by an arch brimming with seasonal greenery and pristine white florals. The bride described the wedding design as a mix between the suavity of James Bond and the timeless beauty of Downton Abbey, two shows the couple enjoy. “We wanted to be true to ourselves with our design,” April said. “We put ourselves into all the little details.”
April walked down the aisle in a richly-beaded Erin Cole gown, with customized details including an oversized bow accent and trailing shoulder ribbons. The bride accessorized with Erin Cole jewelry and a shimmering coat of 24 Carat nail polish by Caronia—her late grandmother’s signature shade. Ben wore a stylish blue suit and chess-themed cufflinks (both bride and groom are avid chess players, and nods to the game made appearances throughout the event).
Following the vows, the couple also incorporated a unity veil, candle, cord and coins as part of a Filipino wedding tradition called Las Arras, in honor of April’s heritage. Selected wedding sponsors helped with every element of the unity ceremony, offering more opportunities to include special friends and family members.
This wedding’s menu is proof that a celebration at La Caille is never fully dressed without a show of talent from the restaurant’s talented chefs. Once seated at candle-lit and floral-laden tables, guests enjoyed a full three-course French meal, complete with five-onion soup, New York strip with caramelized onion and au gratin potatoes, and salted caramel pot de crème for dessert. The venue also provided a classic patisserie spread, including chocolate peanut butter tarts, coconut panna cotta and lemon cream tarts. As favors, guests each received a sampling of French macarons. For the final treat of the evening, the couple cut into a crème brûlée cake adorned with sugar Sego Lilies.
Two signature drinks infused more of the couple’s personality into the festivities. A classic paloma, dubbed “The King’s Gambit,” paid homage to Ben’s favorite chess opening, while April’s drink, a sidecar called “The Twizzle,” celebrated her figure skating hobby.
To celebrate the evening, DJ Eli Fillmore brought the party with a playlist of danceable classics. The bride and groom performed their first dance (choreographed by April’s brother) to a medley of love songs: “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” by Elvis Presley; “How Deep is Your Love,” by the Bee Gees; and “La Vie En Rose,” sung by Louis Armstrong. Afterward, a montage of childhood photos played while the pair danced with their parents.
With sparklers in hand, the guests created a big exit for the newlyweds as they sent them off in style. On her way out the door, April donned a fur coat given to her by her aunt, a further nod to her heritage and loved ones. April and Ben plan to honeymoon in Europe.

Native Texans Jodie and Evan met during a mutual friend’s birthday dinner. From that night bloomed a beautiful relationship filled with laughter and adventure. Five years later, Evan decided to pop the question. During a vacation to one of the couple’s favorite beach locales, Key West, Evan brought Jodie to Smathers Beach where he lowered onto one knee. To Jodie’s surprise, photographers popped out of hiding places to capture the incredibly magical moment.
To showcase their love of travel and the outdoors, Jodie and Evan chose to host their celebration at The Red Earth Venue in Moab, complete with jaw dropping red rock views and rustic bohemian flair. Each detail, from the guests attire to the event’s floral design, was meticulously thought out to reflect the couple’s love story. A palette of earthy taupes complimented the venue’s desert surroundings, while warm berry tones added pops of color. “Earthy tones symbolize our grounded love,” Jodie says. “The rich warm hues represented our fiery passion.” For added luxe and comfort, chic loungers, fire pits and fresh florals adorned the al fresco celebration. The couple was joined by 45 of their closest friends and family members, “allowing us to fully savor the breathtaking desert views with the people who meant the world to us,” Jodie recalls.
Against the stark crimson cliffs, Jodie was a vision of bridal beauty in her off-shoulder beaded gown by Louvienne. “Every moment I spent in it made me feel like an absolute queen,” she says.
Floating down the aisle, Jodie focused on her husbandto-be dressed in his dapper sand-hued suit by Adam Ross. Of course, the couple could not take their next step into forever without the presence of their pooch Oliver, who joined Jodie and Evan at the altar in his adorable custom wedding attire.
Throughout their special day, Jodie and Evan prioritized private moments for just the two of them. Before the ceremony, the couple shared their vows back-to-back with only the solitude of the Moab desert as their witness. Between their tears of happiness, Evan couldn’t resist reaching back to feel Jodie’s dress and envision her bridal look. Another intimate memory, the couple stole away during the reception to snap a few golden-hour photos. “It allowed us to slow down and savor the incredible day we had crafted together,” says Jodie.
Self-proclaimed foodies, Jodie and Evan wanted their menu to showcase their love of culinary exploration, and the catering pros at Moab Chef were up to the challenge. Guests enjoyed a selection of appetizers during cocktail hour, complete with customized napkins with Oliver’s face and drinks from mobile bar service The Tipsy Trailer. Once the party moved inside Red Earth’s Glass House venue, Jodie and Evan hit the dance floor for their first dance to ‘Kiss Me,’ by Dermot Kennedy. “We’ve seen Dermot perform while we were dating, again during our engagement and even had the pleasure of meeting him in person as a married couple,” Jodie shares. “His music is deeply intertwined with our love story.” Between dancing and celebrating, guests enjoyed a dessert bar loaded with a variety of treats, from cupcakes to gluten-free cookies and a smattering of salads and dinner options. The couple’s three-tier white wedding cake was topped with sweet blooms and frosted with almond buttercream. As dusk settled on the desert horizon, Jodie and Evan toasted “forever” with their closest circle.
Moab offers a bounty of excursions for thrill-seekers and outdoor enthusiasts, and the married couple wasted no time enjoying them. The wedding party reconvened for a day-after brunch and then hit the trails for a private sunset excursion in Hells Revenge dune field. Jodie recalls the unique experience as the perfect end to their celebration. “It was a pulsepounding adventure that we highly recommend to anyone seeking unforgettable memories.”

When bride Ida was an undergraduate student at the University of Utah, her cousin recruited her to work in a lab, in order to help Ida get experience for dental school applications. After Ida joined the lab, she began noticing photos of another student in the PhD program and asked who he was. Her cousin shared that Nick, a fellow bioengineering PhD candidate, was researching in Paris and was scheduled to return the following semester. Ida was holding out for the right guy, and finally met Nick upon his return at a grad student night out. “As he walked up to me, I just knew this guy was different,” says Ida. “I thought he could be the one!”
Ida and Nick began dating in March of 2015. Fast forward to 2021, when Nick decided to treat Ida to the trip of a lifetime. Ever since childhood, she had wanted to go to Africa to see wild elephants, and Nick had developed a dream proposal in tandem with this dream trip. Nick and Ida traveled across Tanzania for two weeks, along with a photographer and videographer. At the end of the safari, everyone took a sunset drive through the Serengeti. To Ida’s surprise, Nick had hired trackers to look for elephants. They drove over a hill, and found a herd of hundreds of elephants waiting for them. Ida jumped from the car to watch them migrate across the field, and she turned around to find Nick on one knee. Her dream vacation ended in the perfect engagement story.
Drawing from her Persian roots, Ida envisioned her wedding as a luxury middle-eastern celebration that would make her feel like a Persian princess. After a venue hunt, the couple
decided on Snowpine Lodge to host their intimate wedding. “We loved that it was up in the mountains, but also was slightly modern in its decor,” says Ida. “Nowhere else has a backdrop like they do, and the hotel was the perfect size.”
The couple also desired a timeless design, so their wedding memories would feel glamorous and refined for years to come. To accomplish this, Braelynn Tuitupou of Belle Bodas Events created a stunning palette of cream, blush and other neutral hues that contrasted with the mountain and achieved the elegance the couple craved.
The ceremony’s backdrop was a breathtaking cream arch, laden with a wide variety of textured blooms that helped the arrangement stand out against the picture-perfect backdrop. The union began with a traditional Persian ceremony which includes sitting behind a sofreh aghd displaying symbolic items and reading Persian poetry by Hafez. Meanwhile, happily married women ground sugar over the heads of the couple while Ida and Nick fed each other honey to signify sweetening their lives together. Then, the couple exchanged traditional Western vows and rings and Nick surprised his bride by reciting part of his vows in Farsi.
During these festivities, Ida donned a strapless Karoza Bridal ball gown with enough floral detail to equal the show-stopping wedding design. Her jewelry and accessories included a custom diamond set, which Ida’s mother flew to Iran to design and bring to the wedding per Persian tradition. Ida’s parents also gifted Nick a Versace watch to wear with his sleek black attire.
Back inside the lodge, guests prepared for dinner, hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and dancing. The menu included Utah favorites including bison and elk meatballs and smoked trout blinis, alongside more unique courses such as cauliflower falafel, vegetarian lasagna and a spread of traditional Persian pastries baked with love by the mother of the bride. A palette of light neutrals graced the design, with gray linens, blush (or gold) monograms and vine details adorning signage throughout the space. Every table showcased equally stunning blush-and-cream florals performing as the ceremony centerpieces.
After dinner, the couple’s culture came out in full swing. The duo hired both a DJ and a Persian drummer to play at their reception, and the
newlyweds performed a variety of western and Persian dances for their guests. Following a first dance to “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” Ida and her father danced to both “This Dance” by Scott Thomas Laughbridge and to “Sattar” by Aroosi. The groom and his mother danced to “Close Your Eyes” by Michael Bublé, and then guests watched the bridal party perform a Persian knife dance, in which the bridesmaids take the cake knife “hostage,” teasing the groom to get money out of him. Once they’ve gotten enough money, they hand the knife over and allow the happy couple to cut their cake—in this case, a lemon poppyseed confection with strawberry icing.

RIVER BOTTOMS RANCH, MIDWAY NOV. 5

Nathan first saw his bride-to-be, Marla, boarding a flight to Hawaii for a mutual friend’s wedding.
The only problem was that she was there with her boyfriend. Three years later, Nathan and Marla reconnected on a blind date. “It wasn’t long before we knew there was something new and real special happening between us,” Marla says.
Before their engagement, Marla and Nathan were together for an impressive 18 years, 14 of which were spent living an hour apart, separated by bumperto-bumper California traffic. During that time, they suffered joy and pain together, including two breast cancer diagnoses for Marla. After the couple
beat cancer, they finally moved in together and shared many more milestones, Nathan proposed at the summit of their favorite hike on Park City’s Iron Mountain—a moment marked by music, drinks, happy tears and a custom sapphire engagement ring.
“We always said if we were ever to get married, it would be in Park City in the fall.” River Bottoms Ranch served as the perfect modern rustic setting for this artistic autumn celebration. “I am an artist, and I looked at the wedding as an art piece,” says Marla.
Marla and Nathan tied the knot during an intimate, rainy-day ceremony under the venue’s pavilion, while an acoustic guitar played softly and mountain views sprawled in every direction. “The weather brought this unexpected beauty to the property and made for really unique memories of our day,” says Marla.
Marla walked down the aisle in a beaded ivory Rosa Clara gown and a flowing veil with pearl detailing. Blue earrings and a glittering blue heirloom bracelet borrowed
from a friend served as the bride’s somethings old, new, borrowed and blue. The groom wore a dark navy plaid suit by Peter Millar, while the groomsmen were dressed in gray Ted Baker suits accessorized with Tissot watches. The bridesmaids, Marla’s nieces, wore gowns in jade and black, accented with alpaca shawls and live floral hairpieces.
Artfully structured florals in rich burgundy, jade, blue and gold hues were key to the event design accompanied by cream-colored dried ferns. On the reception tables, Ikebana-style arrangements mixed luxe flowers, textured grasses and dried plants in a variety of complementary shapes, styles and palettes. Even each individual bridesmaid bouquet had its own unique color scheme and texture profile. “Each arrangement was a little piece of art,” says Marla. Peacock feathers appeared in the bridal bouquet, as well as on the family table in honor
of Marla’s mother, who she lost to breast cancer. “We had peacocks growing up, and all of our friends and family have always linked my mother to anything peacock.”
Bare wood tables stood as warm foundations for delicate burgundy gauze runners and swaths of glittering glass accented by candlelight. High in the rafters, the venue’s iron chandelier hung clad in colorful fall foliage. The reception design featured a variety of spaces for guests to socialize, including a cozy lounge area by the fire, food stations and bar tables adorned in Marla’s floral art pieces.
When guests arrived, they were greeted with hot cider and spiced chai. At cocktail hour, bacon wrapped dates with smoked goat cheese and honey, mushroom arancini with truffle aioli, and similarly decadent appetizers circulated the room. Dinner featured small plate stations, offering made-to-order salads, short rib, artisan grilled cheese sandwiches and salmon entrees. Evident to all, the couple and the catering pros Culinary Crafts put just as much emphasis on the art of food as the art of design.
Following the beautiful meal, DJ Rob Bennion pumped up the party with songs for all generations to dance to. The newlyweds performed their first dance to “Standing on the Moon,” sung live by Bruce Hornsby, and Marla and her father danced to “Your Song,” by Elton John, the mother-of-the-bride’s favorite tune.

Michajah and McCabe met in the design program of their college in St. George Utah. The pair, along with Michajah’s best friend and roommate Nayvi, became fast friends through the duration of their college experience. After graduating in May 2021 and breaking off a long-term relationship, Michajah discovered possible feelings for her former college friend McCabe. After reconnecting, McCabe eventually admitted he had had feelings for her for a long time. “Everyone but me seemed to know about it, and I was somehow the last person to figure it out,” laughs Michajah. “After it all came out, I realized he was my best friend and that I wanted his love forever.”
That July, the pair became an official couple, and by September McCabe had bought a ring. He held onto the bling until May 2022 so that he could propose in Bear Lake where he first asked Michajah to be his girlfriend. In Michajah’s words, “It was an obvious yes.”
Just a couple of months later, the couple sealed the deal with the ultimate vintage-chic ceremony on a family friend’s Salt Lake City estate. As the director of a Makerspace for Utah Tech University, Michajah had all the resources she needed to design her own custom wedding. It began with the stationery: Armed with a pattern from an heirloom handkerchief, a simply-chic palette of black, white and brass and a monogram that she dreamed up herself, this bride hand-picked and laser-cut each piece of the invitation suite, complete with ticket stubs to introduce their “Rock Meets Royal” theme. “The vibe suited us so well,” says the bride. “At a glance, McCabe and I appear to be exact opposites but we just work together so well.”
From there, Michajah added her signature flair to every table with handmade and vintage decor items that she meticulously sourced to fit their desired vibe. Crystal mugs, hand-cut and lettered signage, thrifted teapots and retro cherubs were the highlights of the design, “I was loving anything eclectic with ornate details,” Michajah says. Amid it all, a romantic and whimsical spread of colorful florals brought the classic and cool fairytale event to life. “Having a beautiful space ensured our wedding would feel like a fairytale.”
Michajah walked down the aisle to a quartet rendition of “Something Just Like This.” She was draped in a long-sleeved satin gown, complete with an elegant plunge front, open back and oversized bow to bring her signature edge to the look. Waiting for her under a be-floraled iron arch, McCabe stood in a classic black tuxedo. After a laugnter-and-love-filled ceremony perfomed by minister Greg Jorgenson, the couple returned down the aisle, this time as husband and wife.
Soon after the ceremony and cocktails, the couple shed their bridal attire in favor of a cutoff denim jacket for McCabe and a lace corset for Michajah, to join their guests for the wedding party of the century. Following a meal of salmon and prime rib and an afternoon of lawn games and disposable-camera selfies, the groom jumped on stage to join his bandmates as their group NVM performed a full rock show that guests danced along to. “It was the first time our family members from out of town were able to see McCabe play live,” Michajah explains. The band played “Fade Into You,” by Inhaler for the couple’s first dance, and served as the soundtrack to a truly rock and roll evening.
At the end of the evening, Michajah and McCabe cut into a stunningly elaborate, six-tier cake, adorned with decadent fondant swirls and vintage Wilton cherub pillars, reminiscent of the iconic Grace Kelly confection. The flavors included gluten-free tiramisu, chocolate caramel and white-chocolate raspberry.
Throughout the event, guests had a ball applying custom, temporary tattoos drawn by the groom, and curating their own “ink” to match McCabe’s impressive sleeves.
Continuing the celebration after their big day, the couple spent the following days at the Little America, staycationing and brunching with their closest friends.

The wedding day promises many special memories for every bride. Why not make an intimate garden brunch with your bridesmaids one of them?

THE SUN IS SHINING, the air is fresh and the morning is filled with the sounds of chirping birds. Imagine beginning your big day at a charming orangery as you and your bridesmaids celebrate with a special brunch set amongst lush gardens, colorful blooms and delightful decorations. This vision inspired an intimate and idea-packed party hosted at the Orangery at Tuscany Restaurant located in Holladay.
Staged inside the greenhouse, the table’s design mimics a soft morning palette with a symphony of seasonal yellow and green hues. An elegantly-patterned tablecloth serves as a charming foundation for a lively spread of florals, flatware and other fineries. Each bridesmaid is treated to a curated place setting composed of a classic white charger, a colorful daisy plate, a whimsically patterned napkin and a sweet, hand-lettered menu. Butter-toned blossoms and elegant tapered candles enliven the design of the table’s two bountiful centerpieces. A beautiful blend of cream and yellow blooms composes each arrangement—from fullfaced peonies, roses and anemone providing a symphony of subtle color to tall and slender solidago and forsythia delivering height and dainty texture to the design.
A brunch setting provides a unique opportunity to explore menu options beyond the typical “steak or chicken” wedding fare. Served on the restaurant’s stony terrace, an array of local pastries and desserts are ready for the sunrise version of the cocktail hour. Sweet spreads like this can include something for everyone: crispy kouign-amann and bright lemon tartlets mingle with delicate macarons and peach buns dripping with sweet syrup. And because a wedding is a celebration, obviously cake must make an appearance. Also served on the patio, an elegantly simple frosted round is topped with a beautiful, ruffle-petaled sugar flower. every bridesmaid finds an individual miniature cake, each crowned with its own delicate edible daisy.
Flowers flourished beyond the gardens and iced cakes. Floral-patterned gowns were also in full bloom, boasting mixed patterns in tones of soft yellow and green as they dressed the bridesmaids to make this morning soirée as fashionable as it is fun. Of course, the deliciously diverse dresses deliver luster and life to the bridal party portraits, showing off a mix of styles capturing each maid’s personality.
Not to be outshined, the bride pulls out all the stops with her bridal attire. In a be-pearled tulle gown by designer Christie Nicole from Frankie Jane Couture Bridal, she catches all eyes with billowing sleeves, hand-sewn floral applique, a plunging neckline and effortless, chic accessories.

Give your love wings to fly with an elegant fantasy wedding theme.
LLIGHT AND AIRY is the name of the game for today’s bride, and event designer Leslie Price of Leslie Dawn Events delivers effortless, breezy romance in a springtime setting.
If you’re seeking a venue with modern elegance and sleek scenery, look no further than Sandy’s freshly refurbished Twenty & Creek. “I love the airiness of this venue,” Price says. “Setting things against that beautiful white backdrop makes everything feel super clean.” Thanks to the space’s muted tones and sparkling details, any palette will pop with impressive vibrance. Here, a medley of soft purple, rose and blue tones inspire visions of springtime meadows to a wedding lunch.
Inspired by butterflies and their graceful forms, Price’s team infuses layers of magic into each element of this wedding design. Colorful silk butterfly hairpieces adorn the bride, complementing her flowing custom gown that moves like fluttering wings with every step. Florals appear suspended along the venue’s stately fireplace and sloped bannisters, delivering whimsy to the room’s decor. Wafer paper wings and intricate sugar flowers enliven a carefree cake, while custom engraved plexiglass butterflies rest on the lip of each glass, leading guests to their seats in perfect harmony with the day’s theme.
Color has made a triumphant return to weddings this season. Whether you select a vibrant palette or something muted and soft, let texture and color tag-team your design for a powerful visual impression. “I love texture, whether in a floral arrangement or a tablescape,” Price explains. “In this design, texture is infused on the table as a contrast to the delicate blooms.” Crushed velvet linens and glistening gold foil establish a solid foundation for the buoyant floral arrangements topping the table.
Experimenting with shape is another method of imbuing a design with visual interest. Rounded menu cards mirror the curves of beaded sapphire chargers, while hand-sculpted candle stands ground the table design, delivering dimension with undeniable romance.

As a stunning ode to the lush tropical climate of India, Wild Earth Designs curates a dynamic palette of florals, setting the scene for this new-age ceremony. Hot pink anthurium, strawflower and delphinium play happily with sunny eremurus, tulip and amaranthus in a display of stylish lanterns that dazzles from every corner. Consistent with traditional Indian ceremonies, strings of marigolds echo the sun, inviting brightness and positivity to a newly-formed family.
The bride’s bouquet features an ombre arrangement of blooms, transitioning from lemon yellow to delicate pink in perfect harmony.
Wild Earth’s vibrant, contemporary floral sprays also adorn the structure of a mandap, a traditional altar for Indian weddings, particularly Hindu and Jain ceremonies. The structures are draped with fabric and consist of four pillars that symbolize the four parents who raised the bride and groom.

With modern floral design (and the jubilant shift into wedding maximalism), a mandap can be transformed from the stage for a seated spiritual Indian ceremony into the backdrop for the familiar Western vow exchange with ease.
Full-throttle pigment doesn’t stop at the petals. A sweetheart table nestles in a full meadow of blooms, beautifully coordinated with a spread of color-soaked linens. Gilded swirls of sophisticated pattern enliven a bright tablecloth. Hand-woven rugs serve as the setup’s fashionable foundation, grounding the design in deep maroons and an elaborate motif.
In the paper suite, a peach-hued envelope anchors a collection of finelydetailed paper goods, from a delicate paisley save-the-date with gold accents to a custom-cut fuschia schedule card. A second envelope boasting a warm mustard tint is a beautiful reminder to “respondez, sil-vous-plait.”
Mixed-heritage weddings are always full of beautifully blended moments, but take every advantage of the spotlight and give both modern and traditional attire their special moments to shine. A strapless and full-skirted ivory gown sets the stage in elegance during vows, while an vividlyblushed saree helps a bride ring in her happily ever after with joyful color.
Each look is frosted with a unique set of accessories, including glittering gold bracelets and diamonds for the modern bride and rich gold floral earrings that coordinate with the bride’s traditional bangles.
Tying the two worlds together, intricate mehndi (or henna) designs adorn the bride’s forearms. Their twirling vines mirror the feminine floral motif of the wedding gown, while more traditional flower designs on the palms symbolize beauty and new beginnings.
Hoopes Events designs a dreamy wedding day fit for the finest of European nobility.

Ask nearly any bride, and she’ll tell you—the most important element of her wedding plan is the dress. The lesson: Allow that perfect gown to inform your event’s theme and design. For this bride, a voluminous organza ball gown with detached sleeves inspires a world of provincial European magic.
The bridal party follows suit. This bride is blessed with a full court of maids, each dressed in a swath of color, lace and embroidered floral motifs fit for royalty.
Speaking of noble air, a bride with a stately eye needs more accessories than a simple veil. A bejeweled tiara fits the bill, adding the perfect dose of sparkle and extravagance.
Taking the theme in stride, a team of design pros takes a “more is more” approach to heart, transforming the pastoral grounds at Midway’s Homestead Resort into an opulently adorned reception site. Decadence graces every moment of the celebration, beginning with an al fresco luncheon table shining with gold accents—from slender candelabras to elegant gold chairs. Atop gilded chargers, quaint sky blue salad plates echo the floral motif introduced by the splendid set of gowns.

French garden party elegance weaves through the tablescape, emerging in winding strands of pearls, bunches of pristine white roses and lavish feather accents.
Across the property, a stylishly pleated tent illuminated by classic iron chandeliers fosters a fusion of old and new with a reception defined by a clean, white decor and richly textured floral arrangements. Nearby, a sitting area composed of vintage French lounge furniture invites guests to sip champagne and nibble pastries in high style.
No garden-party celebration is complete without a mouth-watering spread overflowing with decadently baked and elegantly garnished pastries. Multi-colored macarons, triple-tiered mousses and a delicious array of other luxurious delights baked by Homestead’s chefs cover an outdoor dessert buffet, transforming the venue’s patio into a scene reminiscent of a French patisserie. Extend the experience by boxing up a few goodies and sending them home with guests as tasty favors.
The quickest way to create an unforgettable luxury event is to ensure every moment is an experience for your guests. And when it comes to the paper goods, Ann Elizabeth Print Studio delivers style and substance in spades. Deep-colored and sophisticated botanical prints act as a design thread connecting each piece, from velvetribbon place cards to the sheer floral pocket housing the invitation itself. Rounded edges on RSVP cards and an upscale, vertically-displayed menu evoke portraits hanging in a stately home or museum. Colorful programs printed on high-quality paper rest on each seat at the ceremony, giving each guest a guide through the events of the day.

‘I Dos’. Places to gather together with family, friends, and loved ones. Places to connect you to each other and to your extraordinary surroundings. Perfect places for beautiful new beginnings. And moments remembered forever, by the river, under the sun & towering cliffs, beneath the stars.
Wedding pros’ tips for creating tablescapes that elevate your wedding to the luxury level.
WHEN DREAMING UP the look of your wedding’s dining tables, the very first element to consider is your dining style. Work with your caterer to determine what best fits your event, as the style of service will affect your event’s flow, the amount of design space on the tables themselves and the number of tables needed in the venue.
“Preselected plated dinners always require assigned seating to ensure each guest gets the correct meal,” explains Meagan CraftsPrice, Marketing Manager with luxury caterer Culinary Crafts. According to the
pros, assigned seats thoughtfully arranged by the couple and their planner speed up the transition into dinner, ensuring every guest knows exactly where to go.
To elevate the look and feel of your reception layout, planner Michelle Cousins of Michelle Leo Events almost always recommends a mix of table shapes, sizes and finishes to create a striking visual impact.
“Assorted table dimensions present opportunities to create a variety of designs, while providing a similar enough vein that they all complement each other,” she says.
OPPOSITE: Wedding planner Michelle Cousins encourages couples to embrace a mix of table shapes, as well as bold colors and patterns in their table designs. michelleleoevents.com
“In especially large spaces, this can be a very impressive look for guests to take in all at once.”
Then comes the fun part: the trimmings. According to Cousins, when getting into the nuts and bolts of your table design, the linen is the foundation. Therefore, tablecloths and coverings should be the first step in your design journey. This allows you to anchor your design with a playful pattern or a bold color, if desired, without overworking the final appearance of the table.
“I wish more brides were brave enough to utilize patterns in their event design,” says Cousins. “It will be more memorable, and it doesn’t have to be trendy. It’s all in how you use it.”
When zooming in to the tablescape design itself, both pros agree that family-style dining is the service style that most heavily impacts your tabletop layout.
“With a traditional family-style service in which platters are left on the table, you have to provide real estate for those platters,” says Cousins. “Often, that means you have to cut back on candles and floral.”
But never fear—a reduction in traditional decor needn’t equate to ho-hum event design. Rather, catering pros like Price encourage couples to let the food deliver beauty to a tablescape.
“Food is the social catalyst at your wedding,” Price explains. “Tablescapes that include food as
part of their design provide an exciting way to get your guests to interact with each other.”
While paring down or removing floral arrangements from tables altogether gives your catering team an empty canvas for creation, you don’t have to be without blooms. For alternative floral flair, consider suspending a lavish floral installation from the ceiling above.
“Giving us tables for use as pure culinary creative spaces makes the service itself a more elevated experience for your guests,” says Price. When it comes to service, Cousins agrees, “When platters of food double as the table’s decor, it gives vendors the cue to be very conscientious about presentation. The caterer becomes a designer, and all vendors must collaborate closely to make each table full and lush, beautiful and presentable.”
You may also want to consider adorning your tables with gorgeously decorated cakes rather than centerpieces. Or rather than running florals down a banquet setting, you could opt for an impressive, table-spanning sprawl of charcuterie and artisan breads. Embrace the true spirit of “family-style” and let your guests interact by serving themselves and others from truly breathtaking platters of food.
Regardless of service style, Cousins suggests a full place setting for every guest to heighten the level of design at a wedding reception. “The minute a table is set, it immediately looks like the couple spent more and thought more about it.”
And whether your celebration includes a family-style meal, buffet stations or a full-plated experience, individual place settings can be arranged accordingly to provide that final polish. “If detail shots and all the little things that go into a polished, finished look are a high priority to the couple, I suggest a plated dinner experience,” explains Cousins.
So what elements actually compose a luxury plate setting? Michelle Cousins lists the proper ingredients: Most high-end settings begin with a charger stylized to match the event’s palette and mood. This is the largest item in each setting, and it will add finalized sparkle to your table design. Atop the charger sits eye-catching china for each guest, but often only if family-style dining is your pick. “Plated dinners will see individual entree plates served to each guest, and buffet services typically host plates at each station as guests serve themselves,” Cousins says.
“Food is the social catalyst at your wedding. Tablescapes that include food as part of their design provide an exciting way to get your guests to interact with each other.”
- Meagan Crafts-Price, Culinary Crafts
1. FIND YOUR FLOW
Your event space, guest count and service style will be the biggest determination of your reception layout. Start there!
2. BUILD YOUR BASE
Begin with your linen selection to establish a firm foundation upon which to build the rest of your table design.
3. READY, SET…
Stack your settings with chargers, flatware, florals and fineries for each guest.
4. FINAL FILL
Whether you delight guests with a full charcuterie centerpiece, dazzle with a dessert spread or show off with mountains of candles and blooms, choose a wow-factor as your final puzzle piece for a sleek and cohesive design.
No place setting is complete without luxurious layers: chargers, fine flatware, colorcoordinated napkins and personalized paper are all musthaves for Cousins.
“When platters of food can double as table decor, it gives vendors the cue to be conscientious about presentation. The caterer becomes a designer, and all vendors must collaborate closely to make each table full and lush, beautiful and presentable.”
- Michelle Cousins, Michelle Leo Events.
Next, a napkin provides a wonderful opportunity to invite fresh color and pattern into your design. Then comes the paper goods. For plated meals and family service, a menu at each seat informs guests of what to expect of the meal. On your buffet or bar, menus can be customized and framed for a well-organized service flow. Paper elements can also include a tasteful place card, leading each guest to their designated seat with personalized flair. These stationery items are yet another layer of your design to help infuse your personal style. Cousins suggests repeating elements from your invitation suite for design continuity, whether it be the palette of your event, a personalized motif or even portraits of pets.
Once your table cloth or covering is determined—whether it’s classic white or something more daring–you then select your charger and china, followed by flatware and glassware. Floral and other statement design pieces become the final “wow-factors.” Each layer delivers a new level of beauty to your design, and a wedding planner’s trained eye can help establish an ideal balance of elements.
“Naturally, everyone wants to start talking about floral and candles, because that’s what the eye sees first,” Cousins says. “But from a design standpoint, that is the icing on the cake. Begin with the piece that people notice least, and let it serve as a prime backdrop for what’s most important.”
These simple-yet-wildly-influential details— and the professional planner who imagines them— are the true mark of a luxury wedding. Increased thought and investment into each small vignette promises a more elevated and high-end experience.

Thanks to Fuse Weddings and Events, Twenty and Creek venue and several other top-notch local vendors, Utah Bride & Groom’s annual live White Party made a triumphant return from pre-pandemic 2019 as it celebrated Utah’s talented bridal community.
1. Interactive dining stations by Culinary Crafts kept guests well-fed and newlyeducated on the endless possibliies of wedding dishes. 2. The venue’s floral-lined staircase acted as a fashion-show runway for the evening. 3. Makeup artists Reese Stockman, Beauty by Reese, and Darlene Wing, Beauty by Darlene, with Kenna Schow of Stein Eriksen Lodge. 4. Sarah Baltz, Sparkle Photography, poses with guest Emily Drown. 5. Models from Ballet Center Utah were the talk of the evening: Kathryn O’Mara, Arely Zarate, Kianna Behunin, editor Megan Bartholomew, Lora Anderson and Elizabeth Myers. 6 Lovely lounge furnished by Decoration. Inc.
Twenty & Creek staff: Lo Sheffield, Melania Rossiter, Megan Bonham, Jenn Parry and Lauren Thopson. 8. River Bottoms Ranch staff: Madison Oliveria, Melanie Dunn, Katie Carter, Janica Horner and Hailey Bonny. 9. Garth Peay, Garth Custom; Hailey Arnold, Hail Photo Co.; Joslyn Poole, Metro Music Club; Arturo Hernandez, Garth Custom. 10. A favorite photoop was the show-stopping fireplace with florals by Decoration, Inc. 11. White Party’s planner Mara Mazdzer of Fuse Weddings and Events poses with Jenner Lehr of Ann Elizabeth Print Studio. 12. Kara Campos, Kara Camp Photo; Tanaya Black, Bumble and Blossom Floral; Tatum Knell, Frankie Jane Couture Bridal; Holly Smith, Frankie Jane Couture Bridal; Tara Zarbock, Flowers of the Press.
CAKE MEADOWS ARE the latest trend in dessert decor. Rather than choosing a simple cake stand and ribbon, brides are decking their cake tables with full-force florals. After all, why shouldn’t your dessert be a feast for the eyes, too?
