EDITOR’S NOTE
I have spent a good chunk of my adult life working in the wedding
industr y - about 15 years now. Those years have seen me through a
variety of personal stages + experiences. Currently I am beginning to think about what it might be like to have my oldest daughter get married. ( Just beginning to think about it.) I have found this
perspective to be slightly different than I anticipated it would be, but
really a refreshing view of all things wedding. This issue is filled with things that speak to the style of my own soul and what I hope is translated down into my daughter. ( W hat mom doesn’t want her
daughter to have a slice of moms style in there?) I have favorites in
ever y feature; that clean simple gown with perfect cuts and pockets, the geode cake that is too good to believe, beautiful blooms, little human fashion, and one gorgeous evening desert elopement.
Additionally, this issue has four beautiful Utah weddings and great love stories to go with the mounds of inspiration to reach into the souls of relevant styles other than my own.
I am grateful to be part of this creative community and to be a conduit for artistr y to reach local couples, inspire them, and ultimately create
beauty in celebration that then often times moves full circle back into UBB. Enjoy!

KEISHA + JAREN J U N E 23, 201 5 Truly meant to be, Keisha and Jaren had met once while ser ving in the
same LDS mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina where they both fell in love with the Argentine people and culture. They met again after their missions
because of a mutual friend and found an easy connection with each other. A few weeks later, Keisha was invited to a friend ’s wedding in Arizona who happened to be marr ying a friend of Jaren’s. ( Jaren was also going to
the wedding.) A few days before the wedding, both of their travel plans fell through so they made the trip together. They spent those few days sight-seeing and falling in love.

A D E L A I D E + B R AY D E N J U N E 1 7, 201 5 These two knew each other back in junior high and up through high school, but dating just never worked out, despite multiple attempts. Just goes to
show how lovely just knowing someone can work out with time and a bigger picture. Later on they began a three year long courtship that led to a six month engagement and this gorgeous summer wedding at the Bungalow in
Pleasant Grove. They were ver y “go with the flow and actually took time to enjoy their wedding day.

STEPHANIE + NICK O C T O B E R 3, 201 5 A couple with a long histor y, Stephanie and Nick got married after a decade long courtship. They chose an intimate wedding amongst the mountains of Heber City, Utah at Red Cliff Ranch. Rain changed their plans and their
vision of what walking down the aisle would look like, but the ranch accommodated a rushed change of scener y and a beautiful, intimate wedding cere-
mony and reception. Their histor y kept them easy going and willing to make adjustments. These two really know each other to the depths of their souls.

CAKE!

Geodes and earthy textures are certainly on trend in 2016 and will
likely continue to be in the coming years. The depth of cavity here that Carrie created and its intricacies of what a real geode would
look like is the work of a true master of craft and is so beautiful it
might be hard to cut! If Geodes are your theme, this cake is your go to.

The Sweetest Things Cake Shop brought us something sweet for sure. Wedding signatures like a monogram + classic white cake and pretty
blooms create a lot of sweetness. Add just a few earthy undertones and you have a perfect backyard wedding cake!

flavors, minimalist decor and a more purposeful use of the cake. Let those

this issue’s editorial feature. A creation that helps brides visualize how stunning a simple wedding in the right environment can be. Details can still be implemented, style can be abundant and love
trumps all. Amanda Hill with Recycled Design conceptualized the location and styling of this edg y lava rock ceremony in Southern Utah shot by Alyssa Ence Photography.

DEVINE DRESS: A bohemian
sheath wedding dress, custom
designed by DANIELLE DAVIS +
MARLENE HART, features simple,
yet romantic, details of linear metallic beading. The subtle
train and sheer flutter sleeves
exude whimsy while the keyhole back and high bateau neckline
add effortless elegance. Complete with covered buttons over a zipper closure.
From hair and makeup artist, LESLEY LIND : A low, sleek ponytail creates a clean edge to
compliment this modern style, plus pulls the hair
off the intricate gown. Lavender shadow across her
lids with plum hued cheeks and nude lips bring just
enough pop of summer color and polishes off this
bridal look. Jewelr y by KATIE WALTMAN .
From hair and makeup artist, LESLEY LIND : L oose waves
casually tucked back keeps this
bride looking effortlessly cool. Nothing makes a makeup
statement like impeccably
groomed brows. This look is cool + laser perfect!
Designed by Sottero & Midgley, the Kristen, available at THE
BRIDAL CLOSET, is a dramatic
flavor. Laser cut leather lace is the showstopping detail on this bridal gown. A romantic sweetheart
neckline softens things up. The
gown is finished with a zipper over
inner corset closure. The detachable tulle train is sold separately and
is a style changer that makes this gown even more intriguing.

From hair and makeup artist, LESLEY LIND : A clean and
modern chignon frames this
sapphire, smokey eyed look and
is a classic go to for summer
bridal hair + makeup.
Geisha Designs created this
simple beauty exclusively for
BHLDN. The embroidered
neckline is sweet and moves around to the back to
create a little bit of drama
over a sheer back. We love how simple BHLDN designs can be
and still be so bridal
and feminine. This one is a summer win!
From hair and makeup artist,
LESLEY LIND : An organic twist
on a classic updo with a touch
of greener y. Paired with a classic
navy eye for the sophisticated
bride in a sophisticated gown.
Luxe Reena Mikado
created this dramatic,
structured A-line wedding dress with a sophisticated bateau neckline and
scene-stealing sheer panel
inset at side seams, hidden
pockets and stunning open
back. Finished with covered
buttons over a zipper closure. This gown stole the hearts of
ever yone on set and we know that a few Utah brides will
be seen in this gown over the
next year or so. Available at THE BRIDAL CLOSET.
The O’Hara, lightweight tulle
and chic organza compose this
breathtaking ball gown skirt on
this Maggie Sottero gown available at THE BRIDAL
CLOSET. A sparkling beaded
bodice and romantic sweetheart
neckline complete the look.
Finished with covered buttons over a zipper and inner corset
closure, this gown is
a classical beauty.
From hair and makeup artist, LESLEY LIND : This classic
bridal look pairs well with a
classic bridal gown, a low bun
and a flush of baby pink
color on the cheek and a
pretty green eye.
Sottero & Midgley
W inifred designed this timeless and elegant lace sheath wedding gown. It features a
modern illusion deep V-halter neckline, a
stunning, scalloped, plunging back and illusion straps.
Available at THE
BRIDAL CLOSET.
From hair and makeup artist, LESLEY LIND : Delightfully
imperfect waves for a bohemian bride. Add a touch of berr y lip
for a romantic sweep of color and
you are summer bridal ready!
The Shea, available at BHLDN, is a timeless gown designed by Eddy K and has BHLDN’s signature boho
look with lace and a feminine silhouette. Plus, that
sweeping train!

Allison Badley, of L A FÉTE
FLORAL, designed this perfectly
summer bouquet that could
easily venture into the fall. Plum hues ranging from dark to light with a touch of peachy pink
complemented by beige and white
tones. Allison uses different textures and flower sizes in her bouquets so that each flower is highlighted and the bouquet has dimension. The
long flowy ribbon gives the final deser ving, dramatic touch!
This bouquet, designed by MEL HAUPT FLORAL, was inspired by the essence of
summer. The Icelandic poppies provide a bright and happy contrast to the warm and creamy palette of the romantic Antik garden roses and peach colored hyacinth.
Added to that are the most gorgeous and gigantic white ranunculus and delicate 1 28
oralaya, finished off with jasmine vine and the ultimate summer y addition, kumquat.
