AMANDEEP BAJWA, PHD

Associate Professor, Division of Transplantation, attended the AAMC Mid-Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar. Named Vice-Chair of the IACUC (UTHSC) and served as a standing member of NIH study section NIDDK/NIH KUH training grants.

DENIS FORETIA, MD, MPH, MBA

Assistant Professor, Division of General Surgery, was selected by the Association for Academic Surgery as the 2024 West African College of Surgeons International Visiting Professor for their 2024 Annual Scientific meeting in Sierra Leone. He was also the recipient of the American College of Surgeons, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract Health Policy and Management Scholarship. He will participate in the Executive Leadership program at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.

REGAN WILLIAMS, MD, MS, FACS, FAAP

Associate Professor, Division of Pediatric Surgery, was appointed Vice-Chair of the Pediatric State Committee of Trauma, and elected the Methodist Le Bonheur Health (MLH) Medical Staff President. Williams played key leadership roles in multiple grants awarded to Methodist Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital including a $900,000 OJJDP (Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention) -Children Exposed to Violence grant, a $350,000 Trauma Mental Health grant from the Office of Minority Health Resource Center and a $100,000 Child Advocacy Fellow grant.

THOMAS EASTERDAY, MD

Assistant Professor, Division of Trauma/Surgical Critical Care, completed requirements for UTHSC Office of Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity’s Certificate Program as part of its Fall 2022 cohort. The Diversity Certificate Program now has 210 alumni graduates since 2017.

TIM JANCELEWICZ, MD, MA, MS, FAAP, FACS

Associate Professor, Division of Pediatric Surgery, was appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports and the Journal of Pediatric Surgery Open. Additionally, he will serve as Assistant Editor for the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Jancelewicz was a site PI for the ENhanced Recovery in CHildren Undergoing Surgery (ENRICH-US) study.
