The Scary Stranger At The Corn - A Narrative Poem by repurpose One day at a toy shop, I met a man selling cakes, For money he wanted to swap, But I really wanted some fakes. “Got any fakes?” asked I. “For that’s how I’ll spend my money.” “No fakes here!” said the guy. He seemed to find it quite funny.

So to The Corn Market I decided to go. In search of the fakes i craved. The winds it did eerily blow. There were stalls selling socks. Pasties in many shades, There were even stalls selling flocks, People were scattered from many trades

“We’ve got some lovely tights, I’ll give you a very fine price.” “I’d rather have some mennonites.” The man blinked rapidly thrice.

I was greeted by a preculiar lady. She seemed to be rather scary I couldn’t help thinking she might be quite shady. I wondered if she was at all dietary.

The man seemed exceptionally creepy, And his manner was strangley amused. He wasn’t what I would call sleepy, Great disdain he noticeably oozed.

Before I could open my mouth. She shouted, “for you , I have some fakes!” I headed towards her, to the south, Past some tights and cakes.

Like others, he thought I was odd. Some say a I’m a bit scary. Still he gave me a courtesous nod, As if he thought I was plenty dietary.

“But how did I know?” I asked, “DO you want them or not?” she did say. Silently, the fakes she passed. Then vanished before I could pay.

So in earch of my goal I departed, But before the toy shop could I leave, The man came running full-hearted, “I can help you I believe.”

As I walked awayI heard a crackle Or was it, perhaps, a hushed cackle?

“Cakes, fakes, you shall find. Tights, mennonites, you can get. You must now now open your mind, And fet down to The Corn Market.
