uying a new or used UTV for your family is no easy decision. Let’s face it, there are a ton of options on the market, and this Buyer’s Guide has all of these options together in one formal place for you and your family to peruse. This has a ton of work put into it, all in an effort to make your buying decision easier than ever. We also know that there is so much more to purchasing a new UTV than just looking at the specs and colors to see what fits your “style”. This Buyer’s Guide is your essential tool to narrowing down your choices. After all, there isn’t a guide like this where you can see all of the models from different manufacturers all in one place. In addition to the information that we give you in this guide, make sure you also take the following things into account when making your next UTV purchase: 1) Safety: Everyone should make safety a top priority in your UTV purchase. Not only should you make sure the seats, seat belts, ROPS system, and side doors fit your comfort levels, but they also need to be built to protect you and your family. 2) Visibility: When you sit in the seats, both front and back when you’re buying a 4-seater, make sure the outward visibility works for everyone. Some machines have high front fenders, prioritizing looks over usability. Some machines have low front fascia, thus increasing your forward visibility with great sight lines. Take notes on these little things that mean a lot on the trail. 3) Cargo Capacity: Do you need a large towing and hauling capacity? What about the largest or the most customizable bed configuration on the market? Manufacturers have been very creative with utility beds in recent UTVs. For example, Can-Am now has a 6-foot bed that has removable sides in their Defender lineup, and Kawasaki has a convertible utility bed in the MULE PRO that extends

and retracts based on how many passengers or cargo you are carrying. Do your research and think about how you are going to use your vehicle during the long haul. 4) Interior Amenities: Just as you would make sure a new on-road vehicle purchase has the interior features you want, you should do the same with a new UTV purchase. If you are a tech guru, then you’ll want to choose a UTV that has a big screen built in to the vehicle (Polaris Ride Command and Yamaha Adventure Pro are examples…). Some people could care less about the screens. Instead, they want the ability to easily hook up accessories, such as lights, stereos, winches, and more. 5) Maintenance & Serviceability: This really only pertains to those of you who are going to do maintenance at home or at your shop. If you’re going to take your UTV into a dealer, then they can perform the necessary service items. If you’re the do-it-yourselfer, make sure you look around the entire vehicle to make sure the oil checks, fill ports, and drains are all in easy to reach locations. 6) Build Quality: We see it time and time again, but every driver puts a different amount of strain on a vehicle. If you’re tough on your machines, make sure you purchase a UTV that can (hopefully) live up to your abuse. Take a look at the build quality of the front and rear suspension systems (ball joint sizes, suspension arm & rod built quality, shock quality, etc…), interior parts, outer plastics, etc… At the end of the day, our team of off-road extraordinaries put this UTV Buyer’s Guide together to help you make informed decisions on your next UTV purchase.
